  1. OJ has severe mental problems. Ugh.
  2. And YOU are an ass. Since the military has been having a hard time meeting recruitment quotas it has, by its own admission, LOWERED the standards. Either way you are starting to see people who under normal circumstancse wouldn't be there and are not the best people to be there. With the draft you'll have shitload of people who'd rather be anywhere else. But I bet if you took a poll you'd find that in peacetime a LOT more people think of the military as an attractive career than you do right now. It's our war because we sat on our asses in front of TV, chasing our American dream, and let it happen. We let the politicians do it. We must now pay the price. I don't hate the military. I hate the !@#$s that send them off to be maimed and slaughtered. Why are YOU still stateside? I have a brother in law going BACK to the middle east for the third time...a stepson who got stop-lossed and still won't talk about Baghdad...what the hell do you know? It's amazing how the military can seem A-OK until the leaders of the country are a bunch of arrogant, ignorant !@#$s who invade a foreign country because "he tried to kill my dad". Suddenly you won't find a whole lot of soldiers who actually WANT to be there. Who would want to be there when you're a sitting duck...with morons running the country who couldn't lead their way out of a paper bag? You're right, we're fighting an idealogy. And only an ASS would belive that that sort of war can be won with military right. We LOST Vietnam because we couldn't learn how to fight the right way (after the French warned us but we were too arrogant to listen) and we'll lose the war against militant extremist Islam for the same reason - it's not too late but if we don't wise up, it will be. Soon.
  3. And I agree with you both on THAT! I haven't set foot in a WalMart for going on 10 years now, but I have probably received gifts that came from WalMart. "Don't ask don't tell" is a pretty good policy there. And I wouldn't insult anyone who gave me a gift by accusing them of shopping at WalMart.
  4. You started the thread talking about the "hypocrisy" of it all as if it if a major issue. Yet I haven't seen you start any discussions around the hypocrisy of the right. And the list is very long. So I guess you don't mind hypocrisy on your side, it's just everyone else's. I don't know if it's hypocrisy or if it was just some dumbass trying to kiss up to the boss, but if you really think that getting a PS3 from Wal-Mart is a sin on par with sexual harrassment/pedophilia, graft and corruption, well... I guess I wouldn't be surprised. I wouldn't vote for Edwards anyway. I like that guy from AZ.
  5. Hobbits are ugly and disgusting. Damn straight I'd smush it without batting an eyelash. Trolls are cool. They live in Fremont, WA and eat Volkwagen beetles. Who doesn't love THAT? But back to the thread, it is kinda funny how all you neocons are making a big deal about someone getting a stupid Playstation from WallyWorld...tomorrow another Repig is going to receive his jail sentence. Who's the bigger hypocrite? I guess all hypocrisy is to be despised but there are still degrees... It seems pretty stupid to me to be sitting around wondering "what did John Edwards know and when did he know it" about a dumbass Playstation. But again, petty things for petty minds. Fremont. It rocks.
  6. And he's right. Why should the kids of the middle and lower class go to fight Bush's war? If everyone benefits from our military, then everyone should serve. Rangel's been trying to do this for years and his rationale is absolutely correct: perhaps if everyone's fair game for military service, people won't be in such a rush to start wars. I happened to meet a couple from Alaska recently...no question the redness of THAT state. They are successful business owners and were sharing their support for the big GOP heroes in Congress. Therefore I was floored when the wife said that her sons were approaching military age and she was either going to make sure they got into college, or Canada. I asked her if she thought it was fair that only kids who couldn't do college (or Canada) fought wars and she said "no" but these were HER kids...and then after a moment she said "it's a stupid war and we never should have started it." Rangel's right.
  7. Bush doesn't hate the UN. He thinks its irrelevant...until he wants something from them. Only this guy could make Nixon AND GHWBush look like really really good presidents.
  8. And Republicans are against big government , corruption and kinky sex. Who's the biggest hypocrite? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm??????? Foley... Swaggart.... DeLay..... etc etc etc etc
  9. Be careful, I could almost pity the fool. He's giving George III a run for his money....
  10. I wonder how low the Bush approval rating can go? Well, if you can't be the best, be the worst. Being worst is, after all, being the best at being bad.
  11. Yes people only want perfect little babies...white ones mostly. Ever check out the kids that many Sunday papers have who are waiting for a family? Many of them are 10, 12 or older and have been fosters or in institutions for years. No-one wants THEM. So better go overseas and get a cute little baby there. I got my kids where they weren't babies...babies are kind of overrated actually if you ask me. There are plenty of unwanted children to love at home. For some reason imperfect people think they have the right to demand "perfect" little babies.
  12. Well if Lott is forgiven then I guess the same standard should be applied to Byrd. After all Lott's own party hounded him out as much as the MINORITY Dems at the time who were ignored in all else. And I guess if we're forgiving Lott then we can forgive McCain and Murtha for their transgressions as well. In fact let's forgive everyone.
  13. Perhaps there weren't voting irregulaties? There were plenty of non-partisan groups monitoring the election as well as watchers from both parties. So either they didn't see them, they saw them and didn't report them, or they didn't happen. And for the partisans, perhaps because this time the irregularities didn't help the cause of the cheaters or perhaps the cheaters tried to cheat and failed...
  14. Perhaps next week it will be "Keating 5" John McCain, GOP presidential hopeful.
  15. Maybe because the right got blown out? They could have called for recounts, why didn't they? Here in WA there was a very close Congressional race, decided by a few thousand votes. It took a couple of days to count, while everyone waited, the incumbent prevailed and the loser conceded. Just because the Repigs didn't complain that doesn't mean anyone else's complaints are invalid. Either they thought perhaps it isn't GOOD to scrutinize voting too closely or, as I said, they got their doors kicked in. And I think the Rethugs who have resigned and/or gone to jail under clouds of corruption these past 3-4 years outnumber the Dems by a vast number. So that many be another reason why they want to go quietly into that good night. The moderate Republicans have been cringing for a few years and now feel safe to emerge, which is good. I like Rep Flake from AZ and hope he does well. I'd vote for him for office were he in my district.
  16. Oh I don't know, the Repigs and NeoCONS thought it was a lot of fun to make fun of Chelsea Clinton and Amy Carter and anyone who thought that was in bad taste got nothing but grief for it. Taking the high road these days in politics doesn't pay off. If the guy drags has family into it then they all have to pay the price. Blame him.
  17. Here's the deal...whatsisface is a COUG. That means he went to WSU (pronounced WAZOO. home of the Cougars). Here in the great Pacific Northwest we have expression for when a team finds a way to blow a lead or otherwise grab defeat from the jaws of victory: we say they're "Cougin it". Nuff said. There were a lot of us at Qwest Field watching that game in the club, all pulling for the upset, but...well, we knew better when we realized that it might all rest on a Coug.
  18. I am a Hawks season ticket holder (Bills too). I like Seneca but I am not sure he's a starter. I loved him last year when he caught a pass as a wide receiver...still not sure he could start. But if he did, it wouldn't be at Buffalo. The Bills keep getting goofy head coaches who lack creativity. And on the few occasions when they do think outside the box, their timing sucks (like Jauron and his dumbass "trick plays" that he calls when it's not really needed....and they almost always blow up). The Bills need a spark, but I am not sure I'd put all that on Seneca. Now, Hamden....he might work out.
  19. This is the guy who sent really really cheap home heating oil to poor people in New England last year. I can only admire the evil genius of it all on many levels.....
  20. What I don't understand is, if you want a QB who hangs in the pocket (and then gets sacked) why get rid of Bledsoe? JP's got a great arm and he can scramble, so why do they insist on forcing him to execute (or fail to execute) plays that don't utilize his best talents?
  21. So by my count there are 3-4 of you who would gladly uproot and live in Mississippi? And of course NONE of you have ever made statements like "who'd wanna live there", "who'd wanna ____her", etc. I don't recall you all being up in arms when GOP ads were "smearing" people as latte-drinking Volvo-driving yuppies. If this "news" is all you've got (that and a sucky football team) how pitiful indeed are your lives.
  22. How do you folks on the board, then, feel about someone who doesn't live within 75 miles of you fighting and dying for your freedom in a foreign country? Suppose those people used this same selfish "logic" to decide they couldn't be bothered risking their lives for people who they don't know? I guess that's the difference between selfless heroes and selfish chickenshits.
  23. Judging from the :"logic", ranting, and grammar or lack thereof, you are a little lost Freeper. The Repigs lost because people were sick of arrogance, hypocrisy and unbridled power and corruption. They realized that in order for our checks and balances system to work, one party could not control all. Kudos to them. Put it this way: did any of you ever DREAM that a Democrat would win Tom DeLay's seat?! Only the extremism of the wingnuts could have led to that...a little more moderation and integrity and we might still have the Exterminator with us. And now let the fun begin. I don't look for a whole of of wholesale changes right away although I am hopeful. No matter what, it IS enjoyable watching the wingnuts collectively wet their pants. They are such a sad, pathetic frightened little lot. That's why they're wingnuts I guess - coloring outside the lines probably caused them to have palsy fits. It's heartening that the Rethug message of "fear fear and more fear" did NOT play to mainstream America as they'd thought. That gives me hope that Americans are probably not a bunch of cowards hiding behing plastic and duct tape...and you can't fool all of the people all of the time,.
  24. And if those kids are so f-ing stupid and ill-informed that they FALL for that sh--...it's hard to feel too sorry for them. Not to mention what it says about the calibre of those recruits.
  25. This just in - his church sacked him and he's now admitting "sexual problems". I'm just waiting for a neocon to try to defend the guy claiming it's no-one's business. hahahahahahahahaha How sweet it is.
