  1. No worries, they'll probably end up sporting a silver-and-blue uniform with a lone star on the helmet...
  2. sh--, we can't even !@#$ing curse on this board. Why the !@#$ are we held to a higher !@#$ing standard then a rich stupid !@#$ing fratboy?
  3. Hmmm i have a new mercedes slk350 that's a nice home-jersey blue...i live in seattle though and am afraid i'd ask for bills and end up with seahawks....but my brother in law threatened to send me cowboys shirt if he doesn't at least see a bills license plate on there SOON....
  4. so how are we doing now?
  5. Unless it wants to burn a flag OR have a government document published in more than one language. These are weighty matters indeed. I am glad we have Congress and the Bush Administration taking care of them for us. That leaves me free to fret over the next American Idol.
  6. Ah but if it grows up to be a boy I am gonna do my durndest to make sure you don't MARRY it.
  7. I don't know how you guys can even THINK of this when somewhere in American some evildoer could be plotting to burn a U.S. Flag. Get our priorites straight will you? We need to get Congress to ACT on this all-important issue. Flags today, tomorrow....Chevrolets?
  8. did you get my paypal from last week?
  9. I was referring to the taking of a life. I sure wouldn't want that on my conscience. I suppose that by NOT campaigning to abolish the death penalty I shoulder some guilt ... but that I can live with. I would not however want to be the judge or jury who sent a human being to death. I believe that humans are too fallible and since every day we're seeing people released from jail because they were mistakenly convicted, well that's a risk I wouldn't take.
  10. If this is truly your opinion, it will change when you are affected by a crime. I am no proponent of the death penalty; some people indeed are not worthy, in my opinion, of being on this earth but I am not the right being to judge. I think you're trolling. If not, I agree with the above
  11. Ware ye evildoers who would do harm to the US, particularly important sites as documented in the following "...vulnerable critical infrastructure and key resources included an insect zoo, a bourbon festival, a bean fest and a kangaroo conservation center. They represent examples of key assets identified in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, and Maryland." Yes, that's our government at work. The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building (people WORK there) and other obvious targets are unprotected. Maybe they're just adequately funded? I don't know. The area around Ground Zero still feels like a ghost town, I cannot imagine what DHS is thinking (or not). Link Maybe there's another secret list? I'd love to think that.
  12. I don't see a problem with any of this. It's all a part of fighting them over there, instead of here, so what's the problem? War is hell.
  13. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000. Never said I did. I voted for him in TX in 1996. Having made a mistake and lived with it, I knew better next time. If that's flip-flopping then so be it. Oh now I see it, flip-flopping only has to do with VOTING, eh, not political positioning? Boy you guys come up with some teeny-tiny loopholes to justify your heroes' actions. I guess that's what comes from narrow, teeny-tiny little minds. Funny how you all start the personal attacks when you don't have a leg to stand on. I wouldn't expect anything less. You never disappoint - lowering the bar is a real art form for you. That is, lowering the bar for those who think like you - if you call what you do "thinking". The rest of the world (which is the majority, mind you) is held to a higher [double] standard. Whatever.
  14. Oh that's right, only Republicans are allowed to change their positions. When anyone who is not a compassionate conservative evaluates the facts and makes a [hopefully] informed decision to change their mind, it's flip-flopping. If the ruling party does it, it's because they are throughtful and open-minded. I guess the fact that this Administration held firm on its position to deny these rights for almost four years, in the face of strong opposition, UNTIL a COURT declared that military tribunals weren't legal and a little more "daylight" (not to mention sinking poll numbers) pushed their backs up against the wall has NOTHING to do with their backing down. It's just a coincidence that their intellect and conscience have just kicked in? Puh-LEASE. I know it's summer but ya gotta lay off the Kool-Aid.
  15. White House too. Flip Flop.
  16. According to all the reports I read and heard when this broke (I was in NYC) it sounded like a "good" idea but wouldn't have worked. The tunnel(s) would have flooded but forget any idea of flooding lower Manhattan. I wonder how I missed the thread on the alleged disbanding of the OBL task force. I realize GWB by his own admission doesn't think of OBL much but I was hopeful that someone else did.
  17. There's a company based in the Seattle area named Costco. You may have heard of it. They pay their people ABOVE minimum wage (for what are really minimum wage jobs). They also provide health insurance and other benefits. Result? The company is still quite profitable, while turnover, theft and other stuff you find associated with minimum-wage jobs is minimal. I love to shop there, the prices are great, the people are friendly It can be done. Poor business managers can't do it, but good ones know how. By the way I see the Senate Democrats are threatening to block pay raises for the Senate. Bully for them.
  18. I couldn't one-up that one if I tried.
  19. It IS amazing that people who can take the time to keep up with "Brangelina" and "Bennifer" and all that @#$@$ don't have time to read the world section of a newspaper....
  20. Those poor neocons. They just can't get it up. That's the REAL reason they all hate Bill Clinton. We should all feel compassion for this poor drug-abusing idiot.
  21. You have some nerve bringing actual, factual, statistics into this discussion. Bush's order #578 decreed that statistics are not relevant and are in fact the tools of evildoers who hate freedom and seek to discredit his administration.
  22. Oh for crying out loud, investigative agencies monitor bank transactions for money laundering and all sorts of stuff. It's not like the administration is forging new ground. And given its track record this crowd is probably wasting taxpayer dollars monitoring my Aunt Tillie while OBL uses online banking to pay for that dialysis machine. I can't believe that's even considered "news". Whoop de do
  23. Forget the Nazis and Commie-Pinko-Fags and towelheads, what about the Yellow Menace?! Omigosh, THE SKY IS FALLING. Woe is me! Kill 'em all and let God (who loves us best) sort it out later!!!! Where's my plastic and duct tape?!? I thought California lawyers were tree-huggling, bleeding-heart, sniveling, illegal-alient-loving liberals to the PPP crowd. Why does this one suddenly have impeccable credentials?
  24. I'm still trying to find that one in the Bible...but, you know should know, it's not "looney" Catholics who say prohibit birth control. It's the Catholic Church itself...and why my poor mom had 5 kids in 8 years. Ugh.
  25. How about going after the companies that HIRE them. No jobs, no undocumented aliens. It's so simple...you use bait, you catch [fill in the blank]. No bait, no catch. No jobs, and the only folks crossing the borders are true evildoers. Of course if you WANT to waste all your money on futile attempts to arrest / deport / build walls etc, go right ahead. But that's just purely dumb.
