  1. Jimbo said nothing of note. Did mention that 6 rooks are starting QB's and believes because kids are taught to QB at a very early age now. They're more prepared to start as rookies. Mentioned how he was teaching his nephew 3-5-7 step drops at the age of 7. Like everyone else he is drooling over RG3 and Luck. That was about it. he still talks like he has a bag of marbles in his mouth.
  2. As others stated and I agree. Nix is in way over his head. His abysmal drafts, and worse his coaching hires, have shown it. IMO he's hit 3 times. Gilmore, CJ and maybe Dareus. A couple of other picks show hope. Brooks comes to mind. Nix is a first time GM. And, at 70 he had finally reached the pinnacle and having him oversee another draft could be disastrous. Especially if he picks the wrong QB in a year where it appears very few are available. That pick alone could send the program back 3-4 more years.Best plan IMO is keep everyone and wait for new ownership. The team with the same players could hit 8-8 next year and at least show improvement in YEAR 4. Maybe even beat a team that contends, that alone would be big. Like many I bought in again this year and saw a clear path to 10-6 well that assumption really looks silly now. Let the clown show continue until their contracts run out in 2 years or there is a new owner. Brandon will need to do something dramatic though to stop the inevitable bleeding that is sure to happen with season ticket holders for 2013. I could see signing Vick or some marquee player to put the butts back in the seats. Even though Vick is clearly looking like he's done.
  3. Agreed, I'd like to have a beer with the guy and get his perspective of kind of being a Buffalo Bill. I'll bet he's happy to be gone, and get paid for the remainder of the year.
  4. I didn't post that as a endorsement of Reid. I wanted to point out that in the league some teams will fire coaches, anywhere, anytime. I respect that more than the Bills approach lately.
  5. Good point, and a likely scenario. But do you really want to draft a middle of the road rookie quarterback. And, have him sitting on the pine "learning" from Fitz? Big shout out to Gailey who with a lead yesterday, let Lindell hit a 50 yard FG in the rain and wind. Obviously,a lot safer kick than in a dome when he passed on it a week earlier. Thanks Chan!! it was so exciting!
  6. Maybe there clearing a in- active spot for a 5th QB?
  7. Not a good situation in beagletown. But, anytime a coach fires another coach in the parking lot after a game during a season the eagles are having. I respect that. They want to improve. Much more than the mindless tow the line corporate babble coming out of Nix/Gailey's mouths every week. Unless of course they get hot and beat the dregs of the league like yesterday, and get another week's pass.
  8. No doubt, Fitz is way better than Billy Joe Hobert ever was on the Bills. Probably comes from the Harvard degree, and reading the playbook. Can't wait to see him improve even more in Gailey's 2013 version of his spread offense. Rock on!
  9. Man, there's a lot of inventory here today
  10. I think they could have won with Thigpen today. The toilet bowl indeed.
  11. Darn now I want a Ruben sammich, but no way where we are at now, for one of those.
  12. I'm guessing he can grow a quality beard, and has good taste in T-Shirts?
  13. Byrd at 7 mil for 4 years would seem fair. Lose him and they need 2 starting safety's instead of one.
  14. "Almost a Dynasty" is a 2008 published book on the 1980 Phillies. The title May be a copyright infringement?
  15. Wind is Fitz's friend. it will give the ball some lift on the 2 or 3 balls he throws past 15 yards.
  16. Byrd is looking for a hometown "bonus" to stay. Not a hometown discount a successful winning team might get .
  17. Reed will get in someday. It's time to start hoping Tasker will also get in sooner rather than later too.
  18. No doubt Levitre's contributions to the Bills are obvious. However, he's never been elected to a pro bowl, was never a offensive MVP and IMO is underrated, but because of the team he plays for is unknown for the most part in the NFL. Is he above average? probably. Is he an elite guard? Judging by what his peers and fans think during pro bowl voting I'd say NO. So, how can he be leveraged for top 5 guard money with or without being given a franchise tag? The guy is in line for a payday no doubt. Is it possible that Bills fans are a little over the top on his perceived value? I really don't see the need to worry about re signing him. They got the $$$. Byrd is also a very good talent and will be resigned. McKelvin, IMO based on his D back play won't be offered anymore than a average at best contract. He has never lived up even close to his draft slot.
  19. Well, maybe a tad on the young side for Ralph's target staff age. But a perfect match with Nix's age so a big plus there. Familiarity with the leather helmet era is also invaluable.
  20. That play is possibly the worst quarterback play in league history. it simply is mind numbing. I'm actually surprised it's not on permanent rotation on a NFL blooper reel.
  21. The pats* cheated no doubt. But some of the unproven accusations on the league are too much to believe. A coverup as big as some like to think would never last. Ask Richard Nixon historians. i would love to find the bottom of the cheating but surely it would doom the NFL. Especially if they participated and still allow it. Yes, the tape destruction is suspect. I just can't see how the league offices could keep this quiet for ever. There is way to much money available for someone to come out of the closet and prove the accusations if there true. On a lighter note. Saw an episode of tosh.0 last night and he did a spoof on Kraft (and his very young girlfriend) that was hysterically funny. Maybe its been around for awhile I don't know? So much so that I am sure Tosh had to run this by his lawyers since Kraft certainly has the pockets to sue if he could. Maybe the skit is on youtube? I recommend anyone that is not a fan of the pats* or Kraft to try and seek it out.
  22. Today is his birthday. he would have been 70.
  23. 2x275.00= Jim Kelly Club.
  24. This season's crash and burn, as history will show. Was caused by the Moorman curse. Add that with the existing Flutie curse, and figure on 15 more years of pain, at the minimum. At least he's still getting plenty of work with the cowgirls though.
