  1. Regarding merriman. I think when the resigned him after cutting him he may have been close to vets minimum with incentives. He did make bucko bucks for his very limited production while in Buffalo. Nix is in way over his head and that signing was part of the proof.
  2. Translation, his asking price is too high for the Bills. For a team starved of talent at the position, and his age aside what else can it be.Front office blows big bucks on 2 DE's in 2012. Then cannot afford a guy who can certainly help day one the next year. This is no super star but far from a Merriman type signing. At least the guy was productive the past few years.
  3. This sucks. Larry was a friend of my parents, a stand up guy.A true Bills fan, with a style of writing that is now sadly extinct. RIP Larry
  4. Fear is relative. Nassib will be a back up anyways. My fear is running out of Webers before our next trip to Buffalo.
  5. Quarterback gurus, draftniks, etc. can drink all the koolaid they want. The odds of the Bills grabbing a starting QB with Nix at the wheel is not a bet I would make. His record is in stone and less than impressive as a GM. Buddy Nix, with his claim that 2 (or3)very good QB's will emerge doesn't hold much weight. The chances of him, identifying those 2 and drafting one of them is very shaky territory. Considering he's rebuilding again after 3 just years. The Bills have a great chance at drafting a "franchise backup" this year in the second round. and shouldn't even be thinking QB at 8. The fans and marketing guru Brandon with his inventory to sell, could very well sway that pick though.
  6. Collins retired in 2011, so there's that. I guess the "comeback" tour is still years away. Also, he claims to be done with recording forever.
  7. Comments, and actions like these play to SJ13's base. Which certainly doesn't include many if any actual Bills teammates. It's cute and all, but really he's football player, and his numerous off-season, and regular season gaffes stink of immaturity. It's just not a class act. Stevie by all means keep putting your foot in your mouth. But when the Bills actually play the pats* this year. How about putting in some extra effort. Instead of you know.................... This guy will never be a leader on any NFL team. But if fans are entertained then for them it's all good. I always liked players who do their talking on the field. You know,Things like outrunning a cornerback when you got a 10 yard head start. Those things are why I pay the money to see a team. Not BS.
  8. No signed contract as of this AM. Weird I know. Just an agreement in principle.
  9. Some new head coaches could use something like this for player motivation on a banner. Tom Brady 15 Wins vs. Buffalo Bills 1 win. Depending on the team's mental toughness it may work better than some AFC banners from 20 years ago that less than half the team care about. Or even know exist.
  10. Maybe such a prestigious award like that, is similar to travel magazines, naming certain coastal beaches the "best" in the world. Of course how that is achieved is simple advertising and payola. has zero to do with a beach. Columbus Ohio really?
  11. Well, I don't like his name, and why can't why just call him Al?
  12. I guess an average of 39 yards a game means nothing anymore. How can anyone forget the look on HIS face when Al drafted him that high!
  13. BRAVO!!!!! I have a new found appreciation for your tastes. Back then a Kinks (Kleinhans?) concert was a better deal by far. Proms are overrated, and chicks into the Kinks would be ......well more fun.
  14. Why not? His highlight reel or the few times I've seen him play, I have never seen him throw a dirt ball, or throw a pass 5 feet over the head of a 6'7" TE. What's his taste in cool T-Shirts? That's the question.
  15. "It's Better To Burn Out Than To Tarnish"
  16. Again, I have never heard of a competent or any team for that matter, do that in that order. Backups rarely play why would a team burn 2 high draft picks in consecutive years at QB? The only reason I got is their scouting sucks and they throw in the towel after year one. Sure every team needs 2 QB's, and the skins turned heads with their move. But, if RG3 proves he can remain upright, look for Cousins to be on the block in a year or two.He thinks he can start.I see your point, I don't see burning 2 high draft picks in consecutive years. Unless a catastrophic injury occurs. Even picking a Lossman, Edwards, etc. they all get more than a year. Hell gailey wouldn't even suit up a competent back up as to not hurt Fitzs "confidence". Good teams just don't burn picks like that.
  17. Picking 2 in the same year is way different. The skins picked a bluechipper and a insurance policy. It was a smart move.
  18. I can't think of a single instance when an NFL team picks QB's high in the draft in 2 straight seasons. Maybe it's common I just don't know? So theoretically, they draft a rookie this year high, sit him(or start him). Then Decide he blows (after 1 year)and do it over in 14? I don't get it. I would think it would be a cause for heads to roll if a legit NFL team works that way.
  19. The seahags carried 3 potential starters into camp last year. Then again they appear to be a competent organization with a plan. But, I agree with your thoughts. Signing Kolb shows the Bills may be panicking. And while Kolb may be the next starter. It's hard to trust anything the Bills are trying to do. The funniest thoughts are some posts elsewhere suggesting the Kolb signing is a smokescreen to their true draft intentions. The Bills just aren't that smart. Best scenario is Kolb actually is serviceable until his yearly injury, and then that forces in the next guy.
  20. Chances are neither would sign.
  21. Can the Bills take her at #8 for a cheerleader? Goodbye blackouts 2013.
  22. sssssssssuuuuuuuppperbowll!!!! Now, just trade for that dude that's a backup for the Titans (forgot his name but like Kolb he's a good one too). Then, Grab a franchise long snapper in the first, and a off the wall QB pick in the second. This roster has Bellicheat crapping his drawers for sure now.
  23. I have never even heard a J. Beiber "song" can he be that bad? WTF happened to music? Boz Scaggs "someone loan me a dime" has the same effect. I remember Lou Reed doing heroin during a gig at UB when I was teenager. It was pretty intense.
  24. True, but if some peoples grades on this years college crop are correct. What does a team that puts winning or at least trying to improve as a primary goal really have to lose? other than cash?
