so I guess Ryan wanted to can Roman after game 1 (interesting because if so why wasn't he canned in the off season). Ryan takes this too management and ownership. For some reason Roman stays for game 2. Then the Pegulas have a players meeting to get the pulse of what their thinking is regarding canning Roman. Ryan gets the results of this meeting and ownership green lighted letting Roman go. IMO the takeaways are. It actually was Ryans idea to can Roman The Pegulas are not thrilled with Rex. To the point they ask the players for their opinion of Romans coaching. it would seem they do not trust Rex's opinion and possibly Whaley. Who both report independently too ownership. that in itself is kind of unusual I think. Rex is indeed on the hotseat. And IMO this meeting is in no way, shape or form meddeling on the sense like Jerrah or say Synder. I think they are trying to get the teams pulse. What is weird is that the GM is strangely silent as far as I am aware of this whole thing.

Anthony Lynn, new OC
Best Player Available replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's hope the HC lets A-Lynn know about concepts like two minute drills,(apparently Rex never sent that memo to G-RO.) getting the play in FAST. and let Tyrod play to his strengths. Not change him. He has played scared it seems for 2 games. -
Talent upgrade or better all around coaching in 2016? The Jets are in year 2 like the Bills. And like the Bills it's more than just the HC. here's a few names of players that seemed to know their jobs Thursday. Not a lot of new faces. But the Bills and these receivers would benefit from being on the Bills roster. Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker, Quincy Enunwa, Nick mangold the old center. Leonard williams, Sheldon Richardson. Really the whole front 7 looked kind of look nasty. Matt Forte played like a player younger than he is. Was it him or thier O-line. so off season acquisitions and players that have been there. a solid game plan which Rex had no idea on how to adjust.(full disclosure he never does) Especially the passing game. good thing Revis lost a step. Rex's ability to win his little revenge games against a former employer seems to have evaporated. The pats*** game once circled as a win. is now anything but a sure thng.

Scripted opening drives
Best Player Available replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought somewhere somebody said that Roman scripted the first couple of series here? It was discussed because he (Tyrod) was breaking the huddle way faster ( as much as 10 seconds earlier) and getting the ball snapped quicker than say by the end of the quarter. "but I don't know I was really drunk at the time". Bill Walsh was the master of scripting offense. I Believe he did as many as the first 30 plays and never deviated no matter what happened. -
I get a kick on the constant and almost weekly threads devoted to Sullivan. for years now. And no doubt he reads them and loves it. He is not the first and won't be the last columnist to have this writng style. Why? because it drives people nuts, sells papers, and generates clicks.but more importantly for him it is a source of income. for the few that "refuse" to read his stuff I can say this you are in the minority. Why? a LOT of fans know he is right. A lot of fans like the controversy he generates with almost every article he prints. A lot of fans dislike him but read his stuff all the time. then they start silly threads and unknowingly promote his dribble. I can care less either way. I read his stuff like most people. A few years ago maybe as far back as Trent Edwards. Sullivan was tweeting from the booth at the Ralph during games. I followed him too see what he would put out there.I will say this about his gameday tweets back then. And I have no idea if he still does it. But Sulivan was as big of a Bills homer as any of the hall of fame homers who grace this board. He was positive and rooted big time for his team the Buffaloy yBills. it was a stark contrast to his BN articles. Among others using this writing style.Maybe he stole his routine from a guy named Joel Selvin. who was a San Francisco music critic. He was one of the first too make a good living chitting on people mainly rock musicans. their shows, their albums they always sucked. He was hated but on page 1 of the entertainment section every day. Today he is a best selling author. I take Sullivan for exactly what he is entertainment writng for a small city rag. I expect no less than 10 more sully threads till this season of pain mercifully ends after week 17. I am sure Sully thanks all of the people that contribute to his legacy. For the record I may read his dribble I never said I agree. I am amazed watching men on a message board get their panty's in a wad over a opinion writer. But give medicore talent like Whaley a pass year after year. And brag about all the talent on the roster that Whaley brought in. There are threads on either page 1 oe 2 on this forum right now that accurately name this talent/players. in reality it is not as good as it looks like on paper. The teams record every year prove it.Oops forgot the Bills are the only team in the NFL that deal with the injury bug excuse. Let it go. the guy in regards to the Bills on the field play is right way more than he is wrong. Is he disliked on OBD? nope he is effin hated there and he knows it. are his takes on owners, coaches, etc. sometmes spiteful? yep because he is a douche and knows how to piss people off. Because that's how he earns his paychecks.

0-3=Manuel as the week 4 starter
Best Player Available replied to Estelle Getty's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well the stock market is betting against EJ big time. EJ Manuel down to 40 cents a share!!! OUCH! buy em up at the ground floor before he starts game 5 and has a 11 game winning streak. -
yea, good points. Your OC runs his offense. That in mind he reports too the HC. And like you said running shady into a wall, and Watkins being simply a decoy. Should in my opinion be addressed in say a coaches meeting ( or on the sidelines if needed) with Rex saying something like. I don't care how you do it but get the ball to #14. IF Roman operated by himself without having to take input from his HC (which I doubt) I would lay that directly on Rex. Not Roman.

That is the weird thing about hiring Rex period. Getting a transcript of those interviews with ownership, Whaley, Brandon, etc. would be gold. Because I really doubt Rex said yep if you hire me I will need to tear down a big part of this excellant defense so I can install my defense. That would not have been good. ending with a " thank you for your time,Mr. Ryan." IMO it was more like Rex saying: What a dream defense I will inherit if you hire me. Almost every piece of the D is in place. Eff being number 4 in the league I will have these guys #1. Prompting someone in the room too say "don't let this guy out of the room" Since it has been reported somewhere Rex really was looking at Atlanta and S.F. for his next gig.

I guess this is how rumors perpetuate. Since according to Rex the decision to fire Roman was his only. That was said in his presser yesterday. Although it may be complete BS, and he did seem vague at times making it hard to believe him. USA today runs with the Pegula's were pissed on poor 3rd down conversions or whatever dating back to last season. Based on referenced Buffalo News articles and zero comments from the Pegulas themselves. Although if the owners did indeed drive his firing. Why didn't that happen in the off season so they could hire a new OC and install his offense. A game 2 OC firing to me seems more like a Ryan move, rather than a directive from ownership.

Yep, there was a time when players weren't just drafted only because of positional need. But because they needed a player skilled to directly compete/shut down with a division rivals very good skill player(s) LIke getting someone with the proper size, speed, etc. too deal with Gronk. Successfully. Hopefully forcing the hoodie to game plan for that player as opposed to exploiting the division rivals defensive weaknesses and Gronk gets to play his game. because if he remains healthy the Bills will deal with him for years to come. I don't remember in recent drafts anything mentioned that we got this player to shut down ________ __________ who we play 2x a year. And oh yea they have owned us for 15 years.

i don't see Douzable ( after seeing him steam rolled) nor Zach Brown who IMO was invisible as that big of assets. Brown is a dumpster find and it showed. IMO. With the current injury situation understood Brown is in no way a starting NFL player. but I certanly did notice the lack of Dareus though. My sympathy points for that moron have expired. The team needed him the past two games. Woods was open a lot like Sammy. Head scratcher. what are the chances that Lynn corrects that pronto? also why is Charles Clay on the team? Just for blocking?

Mike Rodak is an idiot
Best Player Available replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's not only them. It is every media person, including gameday announcers. I expect this too be mentioned with each and every Bills gameday announcers. Sunday AM sport talk shows, everyone. Unless it is just a local broadcast with say Tasker and company. I think this is do too Rex's personality One guy even mentioned Rex's "winning the offseason", and in particular his comments the day he was hired. They are eating this up. Lets face it Rex does not come off as a humble man. That's the type of blowback you can expect when you talk big and don't deliver. I don't think it's even any kind of major media dislike for Rex. He craves media attention, and the bad comes with the good (which for rex is rare). Unless there is a major comeback this season expect more of the same. And the firing talk will only increase. deserved or not. Past that I expect virtually zero coverage on anything else Bills aside from Fantasy stats. The team is completely irrelevant and it happened after game 2. I would rather have the team go on a 6 game win streak. Then have these talking heads say things like " hard to believe Rex was coaching for his job just a month ago" Even though I doubt he is today. -
Anyone catch the conspiracy theory on PTI?

Incognito seemed sincere. He's a great communicator and has a future in the booth when he hangs them up. I,guess my biggest disappointment with him is actually his personal life. I don't like he chose to buy a Rolls Royce over a Lambo. He is getting old maybe built for comfort not for speed is the way he rolls now.

This is a article that is hard to argue.Any part of it. For people that despise anything Sully writes. since I got home today and watching the tube I have yet to hear a single member of the media defend the Buffalo situation in any way shape or form. In fact some comments seem lifted from Sully's article. it may be a Bills record for being completely irrelevant in the NFL hype machine after their game 2. It is shocking in year 2 of the new coaching. Well they do have two more prime time road games. Sully is sharpening his #2's right now.

Cowher wants the Bills job
Best Player Available replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
cannot argue the fact Rex is lost. He cannot pull this off. I didn't see Cowher but he turned Buffalo down once. he recommended Chan. and these guys get really comfy in their cushy tv analyst jobs. He's done he could call Pegula directly and lobby if he was interested.IMO -
I'LL Take This Loss
Best Player Available replied to SinceWarMemorial's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe you need to re read your post after you get some sleep and sober up from the game. I saw a different team last night. And it did not include playing with heart. -
Funny they just had a live Rex presser on tv. he claims it is his decision to fire Roman. every bobblehead disagreed with that statement Rex then speaks very highly of Lynn and said he has in the past turned down OC jobs. He also said he is more than capable of running this offense, and will get HC offers eventually. Mike Silver, etc. then go on too say if Rex has this much confidence with Lynn why when he brought him over from new jersey why wasn't he named OC then? good thought. So now the Bills are showcasing Anthony Lynn for 14 games for the rest of the league.

Cowher wants the Bills job
Best Player Available replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been known too bash the POTUS relentlessely. And i have been very unprofessional doing it. I have also bashed Keith Richards for not being able to play guitar anymore. I don't want either of those jobs. Man your one person crusade is really reaching now. so a retired coach bashes a active coach because he wants the job? LOL please post up the segment. First off again he is a retired coach for YEARS! secondly why would he want to come to Buffalo? What is the atrraction there? You know besides constant trolling. Stay on PPP please! -
Ha, the bobbleheads are saying that Rex after the game said the problem tonite was defense not offense. then they start saying the wrong person may have been fired. also mentioned: Anthony Lynn-- RB coach for the BROWNS previously. ( is that good or bad) worked with Rex in new jersey and the best one. has already been mentioned even though a RB coach as a guy who may get head coach interest for nextnseason so did Rex just promote his replacement...... as for Roman scheter said not all of the offensive players were thrilled with him, others were shocked at his firing.

Joe Banner as a "Football Czar" what do you think
