  1. Well the stats are out there on this board, Buffalo called the right defense nearly 50% of the time, which is above average. Mcd clearly said they knew what the Bengals were doing or trying to do, we just couldn't stop it. They have more talent, it's that simple. Right away people want to blame it all on coaching. Outside of Milano and possibly Poyer, where is the star power on the defense? Where are the impact players? I'll wait.
  2. My guess is the bad draft picks are on both of them. This doesn't seem like an organization where the left hand does not what the right is doing. They are making these picks together. I think the problem is we go after too many guys who we think can be developed long term, who are picked for value. All I know is this secondary is average at best this season. Outside Poyer who is aging and injured, there is no star power out there. Tre may never be the same again, time will tell. Elam hasn't done much at all and was a 1st rounder. Jackson has been hurt and abused this season, often times an inch away from big play after big play but could never make the play. Hard to put your finger on one thing, but I have to assume the defensive play calls were to protect a defense they knew was suspect and couldn't hold up vs man.
  3. Look who we lost to. People need to keep that in mind. Mahomes and Burrow are the two best Qbs in the NFL. Getting to SB is no easy task and both the Chiefs and Bengals are more complete than the Bills in terms of personnel.
  4. The problem on defense is personnel, imo. They have missed on draft picks and it shows. Outside of Von Miller, who has stepped up at the first level? Outside of Milano, who has stepped up at the second level? There is no one to even speak of in the secondary this year, they were all hurt and mostly non existent. The scheme isn't the problem, execution and players making plays is. Listen to McDermott press conference, he admits it. They knew what Cincinnati was doing and they couldn't stop it. Why? Because Cincinnati was too talented for them.
  5. I feel like Dave portnoy felt last year after the Bills drubbing of the pats.
  6. That first miss to Diggs on 3rd down was going for a huge TD if it was on target.
  7. In his defense, our eliminations have come at the hands of Mahomes and Burrow. They are the two best Qbs in the league right now.
  8. Every player on defense was drafted to fit our scheme. It's not the scheme, per se, it's not having the proper personnel/play calling. We need CBs. I was blasted for saying this earlier in the year. We don't have a shut down corner on this roster. Tre is a shell of his former self, maybe he can make it back, maybe not. Our defense is designed to hold up on the back end long enough for 4 to get the Qb without blitzing. No one on the Dline has stepped up as a dominant force and no one in the secondary has either. Imo, the only explanation for these defensive play calls is to try and protect what our coaching staff knows are weak links. Other elite level teams will expose these weaknesses leaving us helpless to defend. Offensively, we don't have enough firepower at the WR spot, interior line is terrible, we may even see Morse retire. The biggest weakness is Dorsey. There is zero creativity on offense. We can't run screens, we don't run the ball, we don't run sweeps, don't scheme guys open into space, don't exploit mismatches, etc, etc. There's a ton of things to address this offseason. Hopefully, things get figured out because this division is going to be very tough to win next year, especially if the Jets bring in a real Qb.
  9. How the ***** do you overturn a call when you can't see the ball.
  10. Why does this damn defense play soft every single 3rd and long?? They need to man up and press to make contested throws.
  11. Been an OK season boys, who's our first draft pick this year?
  12. To be honest, every single qb left is playing much better than Josh right now. He needs to put up a big day or it's over for us.
  13. He's the Goat. It took many years for me to realize I actually like the person, Tom Brady, and I only hated him because of 20 years of beatings he laid upon us. I don't think I'll ever see a qb do more than him the rest of my life. The dude was a baller.
  14. Flip a coin, that's how I feel.
  15. I'll take the DUBS anyway I can, but this game was exactly what I thought it would be.
  16. How confident are you feeling now?
  17. Agree, the call was a TD. You need clear cut evidence to overturn the call, it wasn't there.
  18. This game is not a given. I feel better with this news, but anything can happen in the playoffs.
