  1. Hochuli guarantees a 4-hour game with lots of focus on officiating. Nobody will leave the NFC Championship broadcast without knowing who Ed Hochuli is. That's his MO. Maybe he's pushing for his own reality show!
  2. Do you really think he missed those throws by mistaking the grass for his receiver? I saw what you saw. He was off his game because of our defense. Coverage was good and the pass rush was effective, if only that it disrupted plays. A number of those passes thrown in to the turf were clearly due to this disruption. They were swing passes and short timing routes, if my memory proves accurate. I really don't know what it is with Bortles, because he is clearly not a good QB, but to state that he in unable to hit the side of a barn, while he picked apart the Steelers, unprepared as they may have been, is the idiocy that you so often describe.
  3. I'm pretty sure he's right up there with Stew Barber for best GMs in Bills history!
  4. I commend you for your post! It isn’t often around here that we see someone as adamant as you adjust your position based on results. I value your perspective as such. That said, I believe you have missed the point of the Dareus trade. I agree we got basically nothing in return. I also agree that it would’ve been nice if McDermott could’ve motivated the guy. However, it is next to impossible to motivate a guy making that kind of money, without incentives based on performance. That’s why we see so many Haynesworth-like fails. I think McD tried. When it didn’t work, he moved on... plain and simple. In a coach’s first year, it is more important to deliver the message and get the buy-in than it is to keep the talent and win games. As it turned out, we won more than anyone expected. Let’s not lose sight of the original plan, which was to establish the new culture at any cost.
  5. I did not say he failed to adapt. I said he did not change his scheme. There's a huge difference there. In order to have sustained success with a QB like Taylor, you need to customize the entire scheme to incorporate the read-option into an every down playbook. That's the college game. It has been proven time and again that that game doesn't work for long in the NFL.
  6. You will only "really" know what Dennison is capable of once you have a traditional QB. While it is clear that he did not try to change his scheme to fit Taylors strengths, I believe it was predetermined back in the Summer that the Bills would go with their scheme and see how the players on the bubble would fit in. They now know what they've got and what they need. I'd be willing to let it play out, although I would prefer a better offensive mind.
  7. I'm leaning toward Chudzinski, because he is a proven QB developer. Always had a ton of respect for the guy. However at the end of the day, it's whomever Sean McDermott feels most comfortable with. After this season, he's earned that much trust.
  8. Pick nuclear blast or asteroid strike? Either way, we’re screwed.
  9. Plus, you can’t blame Peterman for that final INT.
  10. He was out getting beers for the starters.
  11. You simply will not score many TDs when your QB can’t complete a downfield pass.
  12. But the number of overturned completions skyrocketed.
  13. Gotta see what Baker can do in the last :55. This can earn him a lot of respect! Or cause him to drop.
  14. It is a crap shoot with the lesser competition. However, the big 5 except for Mayfield have been unimpressive in the bowl games. Says something...don’t know exactly what, but i’ll roll the dice with Mayfield.
  15. Mayfield will win for somebody. The question is who will take the plunge.
  16. Agreed, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him drop to day 2.
  17. @JFH, do you really think we’d pull the trigger if Mayfield is there at #25? 3rd round, of course.
  18. You watch him fall. The NFL Good ol boys will never take a short guy high. He’ll be there at our pick if we have the cajones.
  19. OU has an awesome team. I haven’t watched much college ball until this season. I decided to watch to look at the QBs we might get. I am now a fan. I will say that I do not feel good about Darnold, though.
  20. People, even scouts make up reasons why guys who aren’t prototypical athletes won’t be successful. Height, speed, footwork, hand size, are all meaningless in the overall scope. That’s why Brady lasted until the 6th. That’s why Montana lasted until the end of the 3rd. Winners are winners despite their shortcomings.
