The Jets and Fish play each other tonight
Mr Info replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Been waiting for a Post/Daily News 'Toilet Bowles' reference. Could happen tomorrow. -
Hopefully, this may be one: http://www.forbes.com/sites/elaineschattner/2016/12/05/inotuzumab-ozogamicin-a-new-kind-of-antibody-treatment-for-b-cell-acute-lymphocytic-leukemia/#462511a53e01 RIP, Mr. Sager

Thanks, that was interesting. The long-believed notion that reducing testosterone levels to treat prostrate cancer may be debunked for certain types of prostrate cancer.

I do not have the expertise to comment on PBT but I will add some new therapies that are available or may soon be available for prostate cancer. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis but hope you have good results. You have a great attitude about it. 21 Oct 16 FDA approves supplemental NDA for Xtandi for metastatic CRPC: http://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-detail/fda_approves_supplemental_new_drug_application_for_xtandi_enzalutamide_capsules_in_advanced_prostate_cancer Phase 1 clinical trial of a vaccine for prostate cancer: http://www.pfizer.com/research/clinical_trials/find_a_trial/NCT02616185

Use tankless but natural gas. Pros: hot water always available for all bathrooms (no issues with pressure), no water tank space required, use gas for cooktop as well (do not want electric). Cons: longer hot water delivery for remote bathrooms (can be corrected). Cannot comment on electrric cost savings but there is plenty of metrics abailable.

Bright Side of Weed Legalization In Certain States
Mr Info replied to PolishDave's topic in Off the Wall Archives
In another part of my life I was an organic/synthetic chemist. Btw, what I originally posted has nothing to do with weed. It pertains to LSA which is why people use the MG seeds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ergine -
Bright Side of Weed Legalization In Certain States
Mr Info replied to PolishDave's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Hoped you washed the chemical coating off before smoking them but be careful not to soak too long or you will start cold water extraction and lose some of the LSA. The best are Heavenly Blue or Pearly Gates. Anyway, it would be better to use ethanol extraction than cold water. Just search...it's out there. Actually, better to forego the MG seeds and use Hawaiian Baby Woodrose seeds. Remove any furry stuff on the outside of these seeds and also remove the outer shell. No active fun ingredients in there and will get rid of the trace cyanide present. That way you won't barf. You only need a dozen or so of these seeds compared to hundreds of the MG seeds. After removing fur, quick wash, and removal of the outer shell you can toss them down. If you enjoy being sciency then use the ethanol extraction. Happy sailing! -
Leger Douzable petitions Cuomo to get Uber in Buffalo
Mr Info replied to YoloinOhio's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I am surmising you're on old guy. If taxis are gone, then Uber & Lyft are competitors. If their prices rise too much, then another ride-sharing company comes in to compete. -
If those Ws come true and Pats win out or get 1 loss then this game gets flexed. In either Pats scenario, this game will be for division lead if Bills win next two.

According to ESPN, Clay ruled out Sunday as well.
Mr Info replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was early & Salas shares two letters in his name with Clay so maybe that explains it. -
Good cliffhamger ending for season 2...lots of questions. It appears that season 3 may not debut until fall 2017 although Malek said he already filmed a scene for next season.

The Bills have a real chance to win Sunday because...

...because Springsteen is playing Shout as part of his setlist in the 2016 tour. He played it the other night when we saw him & we sang along with Bills lyrics. It got us pumped up for Bills football! -
Not sure, some were canceled & some moved indoor. Bruce has been moved to Mon night but I was planning to be in the area Mon. It will just be a later return after the show to central VA
-
Should be ok Sun & Mon so you can catch Culture Club on Sun night at the AMF. Today's a washout and many other events are canceled but not Bruce at the Amphitheater.
-
Sun & Mon at VB should be ok now & I was not going dowm until Sat afternoon for Bruce show that night. Does updated forecast change your plans?
-
It would not be the beach where I would plan a vacation but it's the closest beach visit from the central VA area for a day trip. But we usually do not hang around the boardwalk. Croatan Beach is a bit more isolated and no hotels or retail. Thanks for the food recommendations. There are some restaurants in the area with great food. Cafe Europa in Portsmouth is outstanding. The owners have always been there whenever I go. The husband is the main chef and his wife makes the desserts. Amazing wine list as well. Kinda pricey but well worth it...and they are not rushing you to finish your meal.
-
Short trip to Va Beach for the weekend & a Boss show on Sat night. At VB, specifically go to Croatan Beach to surf & swim and avoid the boatdwalk.

Well, he called him a pedophile.

This & I will add goofy-looking complicated sandals. This has been confirmed by hot gals & women whose opinion I trust. I am not a slave to fashion but do not want to look like a dweeb. More power to you if you don't give a rat's ass how you appear. There appears to be positive correlation between age and lack of fashion...note the prevalance of sweatpants in the 60+ crowd. But they don't give a sh!t anymore & that's cool.

I can provide something that may be interesting based on some projects in which I am involved. In 2012, some creative researchers leveraged CRISPR-Cas9 to enable DNA/genome editing. This year, a US federal panel approved the first use of CRISPR in humans to genetically alter immune cells to attack three kinds of cancer. https://www.statnews.com/2016/06/21/crispr-human-trials/ CRISPR-Cas9 (think of crispr as the DNA scissors and cas9 as the protein that is being used to look for the matching target) can be used to modify genomes in plants, animals, and humans. Most everyone would support the use of genome editing for eliminating diseases in embryos causing blindness, cancer, Krabbe's disease, etc. In animals, Church, et al, at Harvard found a way to use CRISPR-Cas9 to remove the retrovirusus from pig organs to address the human organ shortage. Active research is being performed on using CRISPR-Cas9 to genetically modify plants to make disease resistant crops. If this is done properly, foreign DNA is not introduced (new gene-shuttling technique) and the hope is that it would avoid plant GMO classification. For instance, the popular banana cultivar Cavendish may be wiped out by a soil fungus and the only way to save it may be to edit this banana. In this letter dated 13 April 2016, the FDA has decided that it will not regulate a mushroom that has been gene-edited to prevent it from turning brown. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/biotechnology/downloads/reg_loi/15-321-01_air_response_signed.pdf Here is a general article from Nature 2015 pertaining to genome editing: http://www.nature.com/news/genome-editing-7-facts-about-a-revolutionary-technology-1.18869 As stated in the above article, CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing technology "has made modifying DNA so cheap and easy that amateur biologists working in converted garages or community laboratories are starting to dabble." Not certain how accurate that is but govt sponsored programs certainly have the means ($ and resources) to dabble. However, this new technology will present ethical dilemmas. Will this venture from disease curing into genetic augmentation? How will this be regulated everywhere? And I am certain you can think of many others. This technology is different than the IT technology of the past 40 years. Will this new technology have a greater impact?
