  1. Heh, good analogy You and I agree he definitely couldn't change direction quickly.
  2. He was actually noted by Marv Levy (which is why I remembered that about him) when playing for Miami for having really quick feet. And if you go back and watch any old highlights you'll see what they were talking about. He's not quick laterally, but purposely took shorter steps and maintained better balance that way.
  3. Of course that has nothing to do with the offense throughout 2003 and up until recently this year helping soooo much with 3 and outs, turnovers, huge losses in the field position and time of posession battles.
  4. He's a hell of a lot more like Duece and Edge than he is like Keith friggin' Byars and thank the lord above for that. Byars = quick feet, great hands, but was slow, and lacked agility. He was really a better H-back / TE / FB type.
  5. Mickey, that was a fantastic post and a very good and Accurate IMO analysis. Don't listen to your flamers who mostly just don't understand these concepts as you obviously do. I realize, for example that you are not "dissing" WM because of the goal line running play, but rather pointing out they way it truly happened, and the fact that the O-line did a superior job on the play. Keep it up man. We need more posters like this
  6. I see 8-8 or 9-7, the latter of which I would be giddy considering the rough start to the season.
  7. You are forgiven mr. Stojanovich , for as I recall you have missed a number of games. The reality is that the O-line has greatly improved as the season has gone on. Yes Willis is part of the equation, but only as one man can do. I'm sure Fezmid has (or will have) plenty of DVD's of the games that you can review.
  8. Wasted is right. Refering to the time I just spent reading this thread Appreciate the opinions Blackbear but those are some real "reach" player overviews you have there that are obviously not based too deeply in actual obvservation of players.
  9. You summed him up fairly accurately there
  10. The best part is knowing that we are now a better team than the Jets. Too bad it took 5 games to get there though.
  11. I was 22 and there with my Dad. He pleaded and pleaded with me try to get me to agree to leave the game. Then I reminded him of the Roland Hooks Hail Mary game vs. the Pats that we left early for and regreted. He still wanted to leave.... I finally convinced him to stay only because he had spent so much on the tix and the fact that we had nothing better going on at the time anyway. Boy was he glad we stayed!
  12. Shush D.O.D. , you make too much sense...
  13. I couldn't have said it better myself.
  14. Exactly, BUT that (whining) is NOT something he is doing NOW. Get it? Read my post again if needed.
  15. Va, very ICE like of you In all seriousness, you were indeed correct on all counts and should be commended for that. I have always just felt (and still do) that though you're points on TH were valid, they were often exaggerated beyond "REAL".
  16. It's not the first time, as MM reported on his show, he ran it @ 4 years ago. It's very cool he hung on to it though
  17. On the Mularkey radio show Monday night he reported that "they" (I'm assuming he and Clements) have had that play available for a number of years, back to their time together in Pitt. He said that they ran it once approximately 4 years ago successfully, and that it was a matter of getting just the right look from the defense in order to pull it off.
  18. You are so full of crap sometimes it's not even funny. His attitude sucks? He doesn't give a sh--? Sorry but he's been supportive all year, and kept his mouth shut on the bench. MM has reported numerous times how he has participated in practice as if he was going to start. Of course you are not going to see "third quarter" Travis when he steps onto the field for one play here, one play there. He has lost his position to the better back, and he has taken that like a man. And if/when he begins to complain about it after the season, he will have every right to.
  19. Good God!, with all due respect cincy I believe young Willis is already thrice the running back that big Keith ever was. An effective and functional utility player he was, yes. I'll give him that.
  20. Nice post Bill. It's really a good feeling to finally have a capable O-line coach.
  21. Thankyou, see above post You explained it better ...
  22. Hilaghrius!
  23. Given all the correct info already provided about recovering from knee injuries, etc., I still say that he is (Right Now) a lot faster than most of you think. Watch the fake QB sneak with respect to the angles of the defenders. Watch the long run vs. the Rams. He is a tall back with long, smooth strides. Will he yet improve his speed? Yes. I just think his speed is already a bit deceiving.
  24. Well I suppose over the course of a season that arguement would hold water, not so much on a game by game account. With that said, a coach's eye is still different and I'm sure there is a player or ten out there that many perceive as a "great" player both visually and statistically who really is benefiting from strong play at another position, or vice versa.
