  1. That, plus he's really really fast, AD.
  2. Aside from showing a propensity to drop passes and get injured, what else has Davis shown so far in his NFL career?
  3. I give 8 points per reception in my league. We also get: 29 points per TD pass 31 points per TD run 16 points per 28 rushing yards 22 points per 37 receiving yards 26 points per 42 passing yards 5 points per tackle 13 points per sack 19 points per interception 9 points per pass defensed 11 points per safety 8 points per FG 17 points per FG over 58 yards 24 points per kickoff/punt return for TD
  4. Hey Dean, I think they were talking 'bout Boomer Esiason, not Chris Berman.
  5. Thanks. My Mother retired back in '04 after a 37 year career w/ SSA, which has also been my employer since '96.
  6. That was one heck of a catch! Very impressive.
  7. Ah. You were a rival school of ours. I was a Red Raider. Go SU!
  8. He played through a sprained foot plus an infected toenail in his rookie year and still managed to get nearly 5 sacks, then came back healthy his second year to get 14 sacks, and is now on pace to get 16 in his third year (4 in 4 games). The guy didn't miss a start in this era of guys missing 4-6 weeks w/ a stubbed toe. If that's not very good, I'd like to see what is. Two years is far too early to throw in the towel on these guys. Ask the Giants fans, who booed Eli Manning mrecilessly last season. All he did was lead them on an incredible run and play near flawless football in the process. If they had given up on him after two years, none of that, including the MVP performance he had in last year's Super Bowl, would've happened. I dunno. I watched their game vs the Colts, and his technique looked okay to me. He doesn't know everything and doesn't play perfectly, but for where he is @ this point in his career, he's been impressive. Oh, and the Texans don't employ the 3-4 anymore. That was scrapped once Kubiak became the head coach. Hey, we agree. If we're going to make a big splash in terms of a trade (don't bet on it, folks), I'd hope it would be a TE or a pass rusher.
  9. I was born and raised in Erie. Which college did you attend? Gannon? Mercyhurst? PENN STATE-Erie? Edinboro?
  10. Yep. It's a theme that has been rehashed here countless times and it's no less true now: there are boorish fans of EACH AND EVERY TEAM! That doesn't mean that each and every fan of said team is boorish. And as for not being knowledgeable, I can only hope to lack knowledge to the degree of my Mother, a retired senior executive of Social Security, and my brother, an award winning journalist of nearly 20 years. Not to mention my wife, who keeps me in line (that takes some work) and also manages a pharmacy, a task that she spends 'bout 60-70 hours per week doing.
  11. He's become a very good pass rusher and in my opinion, seeing as how valued pass rushers are, he was worthy of the top pick. That's why the part of that article referring to the Texans sounds so stupid. If they already have a bona fide stud rusher in Super Mario, all they need opposite him is a complementary pass rusher. A Mike Rucker to his Julius Peppers, if you will.
  12. On behalf of my Stiller fan Mother, brother, and wife, I must wholeheartedly disagree w/ your broad generalization.
  13. I thought they already had a complementary pass rusher in Mario Williams. No wonder they call it Yahoo, huh?
  14. I'm going and if anyone else is interested in going, I have an extra ticket.
  15. Where to begin? Let's see: Injuries are a part of the game, and good teams can win despite adversity. The Bills are a work in progress, but aren't all the way there yet. The 4-0 start blinded many to that fact. Schobel is not dominating the line of scrimmage this season when healthy. Now, before people get all bent out of shape, I'm not saying he sucks. Far from it. What I am saying is that he certainly has not been performing like a high priced DE should to date. Stroud may be banged up, but he's played a lot tougher @ the point of attack in his career even while banged up. Get off those blocks, big man! You've shown that you can do it (w/out Stroud's presence, you'd see last year's defense for the most part), so make it so. Ellison has been a big disappointment since his rookie season (when he was probably the most consistent LB on the roster, surprisingly). It's been downhill ever since. Ko? He's okay, but nothing special just yet. Maybe he's on the way and maybe he's just what he's shown so far: an okay safety. Time will tell, and I'm rooting for the former. It's all JP's fault, Part XXXVIIII... This line has shown that their ability to pass block is greater than their run blocking ability. How Marshawn was among the top AFC backs is a mystery, as I usually see a few D linemen hanging off of him after he takes the handoff. As I said earlier, I would LOVE to see him get to the 2nd level w/out being beat up. I'll bet we'd see a true beast then. The Bills are so good that they'll nudge past the .500 mark? Actually, I get that, and you may not be that far off from what happens. The schedule toughens up quite a bit from the start of the year, so they will get to show us all what they are truly made of and whether or not this is the year we see the Bills in the postseason.
  16. J.T. O'Sullivan???
  17. Anyone can see that's what he meant by the douchebag comment.
  18. Foot speed. In a phone booth, to use an overused cliche, Bannan can do an okay job. Ngata has shown that he has quick feet and can make lateral adjustments far better than Bannan. In that sense, he's a lot like Trevor Pryce, so he's more of a hybrid DE/DT. Bannan has really impressed their coaches also, which is why they feel they haven't missed much w/ the loss of Kelly Gregg, who is one of the most underrated D linemen in the entire league in my opinion. I don't see how Ryan and his staff can be so high on Bannan. He sucks. He can't cut it. I know I read something to that effect here somewhere back in the day.
  19. His teams remind me of the Ravens and the Bengals. Friedgen is the offensive guru, yet the Terps steadily supply the NFL w/ quality defensive players (Madieu Williams, Shawne Merriman, E.J. Henderson) way more than offensive players.
  20. Ah, the old apples and oranges ratio. So and so beat so and so by such and such, while so and so didn't beat so and so by such and such, which means so and so will beat so and so by such and such. If only college football truly worked this way.
  21. Every bit as much as you do in Google.
  22. I like Tim and Pat's show more than any other on the network, but I don't subscribe wholehearedly to everything they say. They can be on point many times, but can also show favoritism as well (they love all things USC).
  23. Someone has Brown's blog bookmarked?
  24. It still is RICH to some.
