You gotta love the way the Bills gutted one out on the road, something they're not noted for. That's a sign that they're heading in the right direction. The tackling was pathetic though. Way too many misses and too many guys being lazy and reaching up high instead of taking 'em down low w/ good solid form tackles (again, too many guys trying to "hit people down"). I think the pursuit is fine, but once they get there, they need to do a way better job of finishing. That 8 yard scramble by Garrard was a joke; he broke outta 'bout 3 sacks on that play. Shore that up quickly. Jason Peters was quite rusty. The sack given up was bad, but I thought the way Paul Spicer just shoved him into Marshawn Lynch on a play that lost 'bout 4 yards was worse. Nothing a few more weeks of work won't fix, I think (hope?). Trent Edwards is really improving. He was as accurate yesterday as he was inaccurate to start the game last week. He made some nice reads and some impressive throws (the 37 yarder to Evans was outstanding). You guys ready to stop raking Josh Reed over the coals yet? He's not Terrell Owens, and he'll probably never be @ that level, but he is a capable possession receiver who has been fairly reliable over the past couple seasons. We're not doing too bad w/ this Lindell guy, huh? He's no Mike Nugent, but... I hope that the light has finally been turned on for Mr Youboty, 'cause if it has and yesterday's game was just the start of some good things to come, WOW! Great open field tackling (that makes one player who did), and he really brought the kind of tenacity that you normally see out of the Jags. The defense did keep Jones Drew and Taylor from taking over the game, but they also did allow some gains to the inside. Something for the guys to work on, I guess. Still looking for better run support from the ends, though it wasn't as bad yesterday as it was on opening weekend. Overall, like I said, you gotta love seeing the Bills go on the road and beat a quality opponent. Things aren't quite set yet, but I honestly believe they are FINALLY on track to get into the playoffs.

You sure you're in the right place?
-
They know their place. Last week was their week, this week is for the "See, I told you I was right" crowd. They'll be back.
-
Way to go, Coach Jauron. The TBD faithful were behind you(r firing) all the way!

Like you'd buy a movie 'bout a guy all hyped up on some secret steroids who lives in the hood. What do you think this is, the NFL?
-
Not that there's anything wrong w/ that...

Most of the regulars that will attend the Monday night game will probably be over @ Lot 1, Pole 5. It's just to the right of the Fieldhouse (as you're standing in front of the fieldhouse).

You are so mean.
-
Yes. Why not?

I was referring to all the work Raquel has had to make her look more like a feline than a human, but those aren't bad photos of Newman @ all. All that's missing is Burt Ward running in @ the last minute to do some major league ****blocking, as he did every time Adam West and Newmar had a scene together.

Maybe they could just paint Will Smith white, kinda like the old days of the western, when they'd paint white guys to look like Indians.

You're probably right:

Univision has some nice ones as well. Very nice.

The pre Catwoman days, correct?

We'll see how this goes. I'm driving straight to the game, then driving to Erie afterward. Hopefully I'll make it there in one piece. Then, I'm driving home Sunday. I'll be making that short trip up for a UB game on October 11th for the Western Michigan game, then the following weekend for the Army game. Luckily, the Bills play San Diego the next day, so that last one won't be such a short trip.
-
Unfortunately, I won't know the ESPN Game Plan schedule 'til they email it to me some time tomorrow. That's when I'll know which games to tivo, since I'm heading up to Buffalo for the UB-Temple game on Saturday.

The same Duff's I told you were were heading to @ noon that day? Yeah, I vaguely remember. We'll just have to hit up the CNJBBB again to make up for that.
-
Not in the least. We had breakfast w/ you and Christopher and I did a shot w/ you after the game. Somewhere in 'tween, I partook in some Memphis ribs and some jerk chicken.

He did have a really nice breakup late in the game, but there were too many instances when any of the LBs just couldn't diagnose and get to the play in time. Hopefully, it was a glitch. If not, teams will be throwing a lot of passes their way this season.
-
True, it did not happen very often (hence the term, "there were moments"). Still, we cannot afford to give up running plays up the gut as the linemen decide to just cut loose. That worked on a team w/ no viable running game....it will not work against a team like Jacksonville, who will attempt to run the ball 'tween the tackles often. I thought he was active enough, but in terms of coverage, he looked lost. I think the LBs as a group really need to work hard this week to get that straightened out.

Well, the fun's over, I'm back @ work, and Baltimore still sucks. The tailgate was a lot of fun as usual. Great food (I can't wait for some more stromboli!!!!) and great fun w/ good friends. Thanks to everyone who helped set it up. It was nice seeing all of my friends and it was nice meeting those of you who I haven't met before. As for the game.... 1. I was perhaps most impressed by the constant pressure from our interior D linemen. I can't recall a time where we saw that kind of heat from the inside guys before. It was wonderful to see. But... 2. There were moments when the middle was soft vs the run. No way Maurice Morris and/or Julius Jones should be ripping off big gains right up the gut. That is something that will need to be shored up quickly. 3. Trent looked awful @ times, especially early on. I saw a lot of off target throws, even the ones that were completions. I think he did settle down and find some sort of rhythm though. He made some excellent throws , like that bomb to Evans. I like how the game plan wasn't conservative, as if they were afraid to let the guy throw the ball down the field. 4. We need a LOT more out of the DEs and the LBs in terms of pass rush (DEs) and coverage (LBs). Seattle moved the ball a bit once they figured out our LBs had trouble covering the pass. Let's hope that gets worked on this week. 5. Special teams! Outstanding. Not only in the creativity (the fake FG), but also in their execution and toughness (nice hit by Ko that forced the fumble). Burleson did have some decent returns, but overall, this was an incredible job by the Bills best unit. What a way to start the season! It sure made my 6 plus hour drive home enjoyable. There's a lot to be optimistic 'bout w/ this team. Let's hope it only gets better from here.
