  1. How, exactly? You clearly stated that you know that Kaepernick’s intention was to disrespect the flag. I pointed out that he and others have explained that wasn’t their intention and that we just can’t accept that. Simple enough. What greater point did you make that I missed? Actually, never mind. I get it and it’s been hashed over ad nauseam.
  2. All due respect, but that’s your interpretation of his intentions. Kaepernick and others have explained their intentions on numerous occasions. We just refuse to take them at face value. There are probably a myriad of reasons for that, but I suspect they revolve around our need to project our own intentions in some defensive manner.
  3. Too bad he never said anything like that BEFORE his tone deaf statement.
  4. If that happens, I’ll be interested to see if all those who defend the rights of corporations to dictate employee behaviors as we’ve seen in the Kaepernick threads are the ones arguing that the Bills were wrong to cut Fromm for simply expressing his view.
  5. I’m not disagreeing, but as soon as the president gets mentioned, it triggers a certain faction that then proceeds to blow up every post and the thread gets locked. I’d suggest going to the PPP forum, but I wouldn’t wanna subject anyone to that cesspool.
  6. My advice is don’t go there in this thread or it will be locked down.
  7. Has been for quite a while. It’s sickening, but it’s a fact that these extremist groups fly our flag right next to theirs.
  8. Holy !@#$! Somebody actually posted that? That is perhaps the dumbest and most ignorant statement in the history of this forum! People who believe that are not only as racist as it gets, but they are utterly clueless about our country and who “built it.”
  9. That is a great lyric.
  10. The only real way to end it is to stop being satisfied with simply being “not racist.” It’s just not enough to proclaim ourselves “not racist” as that’s just too convenient and comfortable. We need to be “anti racist” and that means telling our friends to STFU when they tell a racist joke or demanding our bigoted uncle leave the house at Thanksgiving. It means no more merely standing idly by and dismissing racist acts when we witness them just because we ourselves don’t hold those values. Anything short of that and we are complicit. All of us. I agree with Tre White.
  11. One would hope that this is obvious to everyone with even a cursory understating of our history. Unfortunately for many, they let symbols become more important than the very rights those symbols represent. I fully understand that feeling though, as my stomach turns every time I see our flag flying next to the Nazi flag at their meetings or rallies. I have to remind myself that no, our service men and women didn’t fight and just to see a Nazi flag fly next to ours, but for the right to do so instead. That’s a distinction we MUST embrace or the sacrifice is lost entirely.
  12. That he is, and I quote, “A pos.” An opinion Joe D formed during the CBA negotiations in 2011 when Joe D represented retired players seeking better retirement benefits.
  13. All I have to say is, Joe D was right about Drew Brees.
  14. I improve my lie all the time. First, I’ll lie about getting a five when I really got a six but then I improve that lie and say I got a four.
  15. All I know is, I just miss my friend, Andy.
  16. Singletary looks like a pain to tackle. Gotta go low, but he’s hard to break down given his stature.
  17. Andy went first. Then the warden met with Tommy, questioned him, made sure Tommy’s story was credible, and then had Tommy shot.
  18. Now you’re just being obtuse.
  19. I’m concerned. Josh’s ball placement is way off in these pics. We are Doomed!
  20. I think it was the coaches, teammates, and fans he quit on more than anything in his personal life as we’ve seen time and again players able to return after off the field incidents, including assaults, domestic abuse, civil court issues, etc.
  21. That’s not the way the posts up thread read. But I get your explanation. Diggs gets a bad rap in that regard. And context matters a lot. But if he starts spouting off, F him. The coaches gave up on EJ before Woods did, but Manuel didn’t do himself any favors.
  22. I’ll hold off on the TT/JA comparisons until Josh’s fourth year in the league. In the meantime I’m shocked, SHOCKED! that Taylor’s stats were better with Woods and Wadkins in the game. I wonder if any of Allen’s receivers will look to get away from playing with him like Woods, who couldn’t get away from Taylor fast enough.
  23. Tre just has so much fun playing the game and it’s infectious. Gotta go with Tre.
  24. Agree entirely. One of the best run organizations from top to bottom in all of pro sports. Pretty much has been since their inception.
