What gets fixed this post season - Offensively and Defensely
NewEra replied to Thrivefourfive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Start passing to the RBs. Or have they been staying in to pass protect because the OL is so porous? Zero targets to Cook or motor today. In the first meeting, iirc, motor had 9 catches or targets. Now zero targets. Let’s hope Dorsey improves this post season -
I’m worried about wins and losses. We’ve now won 8 in a row while playing terrible football. maybe Cinci will play poorly next week because they played poorly today. And didn’t play well the week before. Or the week before.
-
Why would they? What about the games where we looked good-very good- great? Why wouldn’t they count too? That’s why none of it matters. Practice- scheme- kick @$$ on Sunday- stop living in the past and concentrate on the present people.
-
Don’t smile. Sucks for you. I’ll smile, enjoy the week and be ready to celebrate again next week.
-
I do say. You’re welcome
-
This week doesn’t count towards next week. It means nothing
-
If you think that we will play like this next week because we played like that this week, your mistaken. win and move on. We can complain about things from this game, but it doesn’t matter as long as we don’t do it again next weeks Nothing else matters except Ws
-
Survive and advance. Nothing else matters. Next week, the players and coaches will play and scheme a different game.

Agreed. That would be tough to stop. He may not be a great passer but the Miami WRs will be running wide open a fair amount if a defense has to focus on containing Lamar running and Hill/Waddle. It’s a huge roll of the dice at this point though. You just have to wonder if he can stay healthy after ending the last 2 seasons with injuries. Good point.

Chargers @ Jaguars Playoff Game Thread (i.e. NOT a Bills thread;-)
NewEra replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
No doubt. Coaching is the only reason I can’t blurt out “Miami has no chance today. We’re going to blow them out”. Yes, we should blow them out, but great game plan (or a terrible game plan) can impact the result of a game as much, if not more, than the players on the field. -

And on the other side of the coin- the chargers first possssion: run, pass, pass, pass (to the jac 38 yardline), incomplete, incomplete, incomplete, punt. -
💯 I watch just about every niner game and the kid has what it takes to lead an nfl team. He played a ton of snaps in college. His college experience + shanahans offense = just enough. He won’t wow you with arm strength or mobility but he has just enough of both to beat you either way. He understands where to go with the ball and isn’t scared by defenders in his face. He’s pretty calm, cool and collected. He won’t win many game, if any, on his own. He’s the anti Josh Allen, but he’s a nice system qb that isn’t afraid to throw the big pass. If I’m lynch, I’d see what I can get for Lance before he spends another year on the sideline NOT playing football. In the last 3 seasons (2020 ncaa, 21/22 nfl) the kid has gone: 71-152 946 yards 7 TDs 4 Ints. He never really learned how to play QB in college and probably won’t get the chance in SF either. His career as an NFL starting QB could be over already.

thanks, I didn’t know that, 3-30m 15m guaranteed for MVS who led the KC WRs in snaps and had 42 catches for 687 and 2 TDs. i don’t think that’s a good roi in the least. He’s dropped several easy catches (per usual) and I doubt they bring him back next year. Take the 4M cap hit and move on. I’d rather have Gabe. Both are a tier above jag imo. when we traded for Diggs, we didn’t want him to put up similar stats to minny. We wanted more. The chiefs paid MVS more than they paid JuJu and JuJu is twice the War MVS is. And JuJu isn’t that good. i said juju is better than the other guys, so as not to include him in being a step above jag. -
Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?
NewEra replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
For sure. I agree 💯- especially if we win the SB this year. If we don’t, I wouldn’t be shocked to see them shake things up a little -

But you’re sure about the rest of the post. So that works -

Because if we win this year, it could be because guys like Edmunds, Poyer, Oliver, Davis step up and take their game up a notch. They might just want to keep the guys we have and run it back while drafting a WR in rd 1 and keep the picks for OL or a different position. They’d have proven they have a built a championship roster and won the SB without von Miller. If we win the SB, I don’t want to go crazy with a huge asset turnover. Trading for hopkins would change our roster dramatically. If it doesn’t change it dramatically, then we’d have mortgaged a boatload of cap down the road. Just doesn’t seem to be the move after winning our first SB. jmo Regarding the bolded- if we win the SB this year we’d have already cashed in.
