I would’ve despised hiring from inside. I understand wanting him to concentrate on his HC responsibilities. i just think that he got the job because of his ability to call plays on D and his ability with X’s and O’s. His defense run by Frazier has always let us down on the biggest stage in January. I don’t see how someone else will get the results that McD is looking for. Especially a rookie play caller. I think that would’ve been an EPIC fail. Leaving him as the only choice. OT may cost him his job…. But another Lombardi-less season may have done the same.

that’s a tough sell to who? Most Bills fans I know are in favor of letting Frazier go and McD taking over. they tried. They came close. They played good d for the most part over 6 years…. Then they got out coached when it mattered most in the playoffs. I thought they should’ve fired Frazier after 13 seconds but I’m glad that he wasn’t retained after this year. So, I’ll ask again. Who do you think McD should’ve hired to call his defense? Would you rather Holcomb or Washington be the DC and call plays? Or do you think we should’ve fired him? Because bringing in a DC that runs a different defense wasn’t an option. If you think he should’ve been fired, I don’t have any problem with your opinion on this. I understand why people would want McD fired. If you think he should’ve hired a DC to run his defense, I have a major problem with this. Frazier couldn’t do it with years of experience under his belt….Holcomb/Washington have shown me nothing to think they could win us a SB calling plays on d for the first time in their careers. I’ve seen what a 1st year play caller can do on a contender. No more. if you think that he should’ve hired a Dc that runs a different defense, you are clueless (and I know you’re not clueless) as to who McD is. That was never an option.

So you didn’t answer anything I asked. I’ll answer yours though- yes- I think Frazier was the perfect guy to run his defense. He did a very job, until he didn’t. Which was every year in the playoff losses. They tried it, it didn’t work. It may not have worked for one or several reasons. Frazier was given the boot and McD is taking over full control of the D. His D run by him. Not his D run by Frazier. yes, from the couch, I think Washington has failed. Rousseau looks like the only keeper along the DL- top 10 pick Ed, average. 2nd rd AJ, fail. 2nd rd Boogie, fail. Part of his job is to develop our draft picks. yes- McD is finally putting his foot down and he thinks he’s going to call the right plays.

He’s a defensive HC and he wants his team to play HIS defense. There has never been any doubt that McD wants HIS defense being run and Frazier was a perfect guy to call the D because he’s had so much experience in it (and exp coaching with McD). Knowing that, should he bring someone in, teach them everything he wants and hope he can comprehend, learn and retain everything by opening day so he can call plays for a Super Bowl contender? Should he have promote Washington? The guy that has been in charge of developing the DL that we invest everything into…..and has failed. who do you think McDermott should’ve hired and have call plays knowing all of this? He can hire others to help him with head coaching duties…..but no one can call his defense like he can.

Which was assumed. I’m really looking forward to this .

Scouting Report Daiyan Henley ILB rounds 2-3
NewEra replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s not a fit imo. Rd 4-5, roll the dice. Not before that imo. He’s a big liability vs the run. -
If this means Cam Lewis gets cut

Depends on how Tre, Elam and Porter play. Let the season play out and see what happens. Still a year away from that decision, no reason to make it now

A'Shawn Robinson is still available. Does he fit?

Huh? -
What I want most from a 1st rd selection outside the top 20 picks: An elite player/ superstar. I think he can be one so I’m good with it. now that we have Harris makes him less attractive, but Harris is probably gonna get hurt and miss most of the year anyway.

Will DeAndre Hopkins be available this offseason?

I agree completely. I thought we had the team this year but the injuries on D and having a rookie OC were too much to overcome. Just wasn’t meant to be. -

Idk man. I love Beane but giving him 4-5 years with no SB win is pushing it. All pro cornerstone players on D prior to Beane: Milano, white, Poyer and hyde. He’s signed 1 good offensive lineman (and had to make him the highest paid C in the league to do so). He’s drafted and developed exactly no good OL to date (except the one he traded while keeping bums). 1 decent WR. No good RBs (maybe cook too early to tell for sure). 1 good TE. Cornerstone players he’s drafted- Knox- 14m a year says he’s cornerstone Rousseau- looks to be anyway. Bass- hope to resign him. Might be Beanes best pick. Gabe- maybe- my vote is No unless he takes less than 5-6M aav. Ed? Probably not. Tremaine- gone harry- gone Teller- tradeD He’s made a bunch of free agent mistakes but he’s also hit on a lot: Beasley, Brown, all the DL signing last year, Daryl Williams for 1 season and morse. Trading for Bates was a plus. He’s done a great job piecing the team together but his draft results have not been good. Looking at the first 2 days of the draft, i would grade Josh, Diggs (some like to count this so I will), Knox and Rousseau successful picks. 4 players out of 13. The rest haven’t lived up to our hopes. Taron, teller (but minus points for trading him), Gabe, Hamlin, hodgins, Dane and Neal are the day 3 guys that turned out to be solid players. Taron and Teller being the only guys that I would consider really good. I’m a big fan of Beane and hope that he’s our GM for the next 20+ years…..but show me the baby god dammit! -

The thought that Beane would build long term at this point, is far fetched imo. If we don’t win a SB in the next 2-3 years, there’s a good chance he won’t be around. If he wins a Super Bowl in the next 2 years, he’s bought himself another 4-5 years minimum imo. Josh Allen in his prime. Aging stars under contract that are still quite good. If we don’t go for it now, signing von and all those restructures were a complete waste -

Building an Entire Draft Board: Cornerback Rankings
NewEra replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d be very happy with Devon Witherspoon @ 27- Gonzalez, Branch and Porter in rd 2. Banks in rd 3. We won’t have to worry about that happening though. but we do have to worry about taking somebody other than those 5 in the first 3 rds -

Give me Devon Witherspoon @ 27!! never happen. Stud -
Yeah I agree. That’s why I think getting the best pass blocker in the draft makes more sense than anything. I think Hyatt is really hit or miss. While harrison isn’t a sure thing, I think , at worst, he’s an average pass blocker…. Which is 100x better than Spencer Brown. There’s still hope for brown…. But I think going with brown and quess will end our season prematurely and is a really stupid move.

Mentor = teacher. Groot (and any athlete) can benefit from multiple teachers. I don’t see why anyone would have a problem with this. Especially a fan. -
