  1. Like last year. Once I saw Wan’Dale, Metchie and thornton all get drafted prematurely i figured it was time to strike. The price to trade up was getting lower and lower. Pickens sitting there 5 picks prior to our pick. He was taken @ 52 and we picked @ 57. Just a few picks before, NE traded up 4 spots to land Thornton. The price to move up was a 5th. it seemed like we just sulked, traded down and over drafted a RB we were all hoping to get in rd 3.
  2. 💯 and not just the back of the HC
  3. Not really. I’m sure there would be other offensive players that I would prefer. If we traded down mid 2nd and we’re able to draft Campbell + (Bergeron, Dawand, Mauch, Duncan, Avila, Schmitz or tippman) then I’d be ok with it. I just want to upgrade our OL. It was our downfall last season imo. While I think we’ve improved it some, it’s not solidified by any means. McB owes it to Josh and the fan base give him better protection and weapons. As a rule, I prefer not to spend a first round pick on a mlb.
  4. I think your vision of “many” is clouded by a select few. Yes, there were a few posters who said he was bad, but I wouldn’t my label it as many. He just wasn’t living up to what we had hoped for and wasn’t going to be worth his next contract. From my experience here, most people thought he was an average to above average LB prior to 2023. All the tools to be a top player, but something was missing. Then it clicked for him this year and he was closer to the player we thought we were getting when we drafted him.
  5. I’m fine with Campbell being our starting Mike. I just don’t want to spend our first rd pick on a Mike. I want a tackle or a playmaker on O. If we trade down and draft him, so be it. It fills a need…. But I’d rather fill that need with a cheap vet + what we have rather than using our most prized offseason asset on a non premium position. my point was- 245-255 isn’t ideal for a MLB in 2023. I think it’s 235-245
  6. He isn’t getting paid because he’s a greedy idiot. He could’ve signed a fair very contract last year with 200M guaranteed. Then he failed to finish his 2nd consecutive season due to injury. Now people talk about race. Sad
  7. right- he played 240-245- you want your Mike to be 245-255. I don’t think Bernard will ever be a MLB for us and I suspect he’ll be a busted pick. I don’t think he can be worse than ford. We traded UP to get Ford and his play actually hurt our team. Bernard was a lesser pick and will play ST. If Bernard starts and is terrible while losing games for us, then maybe I’d agree with him being a worse pick
  8. And he was also weighed at 236- who knows what he played at- players usually lose weight during the season. I’m quite confidant that he played several games under 240. My point was- Ethan wants his Mike to be 245-255. You want your Mike weighing 255? Edmunds is the the most athletic big man freak MLB in history and he weighed 250. Guys with that kind of body usually don’t run like Maine. I’d much rather have mine 235-245. 255 is a 4-3 DE.
  9. And he’s not here because it took him 5 years to figure it out. If he had played like he played last year, in 2021 and 2022, he’d still be on the team. The Giants paid Kenny Golladay 4-72M. They weren’t right.
  10. I doubt we go into the season with Spector/Dodson as the top options, but I think Spector has an outside shot at the job in 2024…. If we sign a vet and don’t draft anyone. There are a handful of FAs that, I think, would be almost as good if not better than any rookie, strictly for the 2023 season. Spector and maybe Bernard will continue to learn the system and get stronger. Maybe one takes the job in 2024 or midway through 23. being forced to take a 2nd round talent in rd 1 because of need = 💩 I think all of these LBers are overrated tbh. All have significant deficiencies- 2 of them (Simpson and Sanders) have subpar instincts and experience playing the Mike while the most complete guy, Campbell, will get outran by every RB and TE as he ran a 4.65.
  11. I didn’t say it hurts. It’s just not what I want out of a first rd pick. For a team like ours- a Super Bowl or bust team- for the most part, i rate 1st rd picks on 2 things: -number of Super Bowls won with this player- - do we resign this player long term. if we win a SB with the player, he was worth it. If we don’t win a SB with the player in the first 5 years, do we like him enough yo pay him his big contract? We had 3 legit SB chances with Tremaine. The defense that he captained and called plays for got destroyed in season ending losses. getting a 3rd rd pick in return is a nice consolation for the pick not working out as had hoped. Kuechly is the prototypical MLB for this generation imo. He weighed 235
  12. Nice. That was going to be my pick for the Rams if I kept it.
  13. Agreed. I hope I’m wrong, but I feel like we are likely doomed until we have someone else playing RT. I think the interior will be better minus Saffold. Really hope we can land Browns replacement in the draft. And if Brown improves like Beane is hoping he does, we can probably trade him for a 3rd or 4th.
  14. Maybe…. But I’d liken him to Poz and Tremaine. 2 guys we drafted high and let walk because they were “good” middle linebackers, but not great….. but got paid like they were great.
  15. The rams are trading pick #36 to the Bucs for #50 and #82. @Yanthaand the Bucs are on the clock.
  16. Just got home- looking over some trade offers and will announce a trade or a pick in 10-15 mins
  17. I think sometimes a rookie LBers sideline to sideline ability is stunted because they aren’t confident in their assignments. Processing is slow, hence they aren’t running around full speed. Dunno if that’s Bernards case, but it’s a thing.
  18. While I think we must attempt to upgrade WR, I agree with this. I want to see him standing in the pocket looking like the Mandalorian…,, like he did in 2020 with a decent Daryl Williams at RT. Too many times It seemed as if Josh’s first read started with Spencer’s assignment then onto Saffolds assignment, then he’d run for his life.
  19. McGovern, Edwards and Bates are all better than Spencer brown to date. There is no debate
  20. Addison can play the outside just fine. He ran a 4.49. Shakir does run routes like addison. It’s not even close. You’re just looking at them physically when you have to look deeper. It’s a very shallow way of thinking. Sorry to be so blunt. The only thing addison has against him is his weight. RAS: Antonio Brown 3.86 Jeudy: 6.7 Tee Higgins 4.13 Hunter Renfrow 2.94 Cooper Kupp 5.0 Adam Humphries 4.19 Robert Woods 3.55 Found those after looking for 2 minutes. I’m sure there are many more. Would love to know what Jerry Rice’s RAS score was. Just a long winded way to say, I agree to disagree
  21. I think it’s a bad idea to use your first pick on lower priority position just because there are only 3 LBers worthy of a 1st or 2nd rd pick. If taking a MLB with our first pick is the plan, then we better find a way to trade down and get more picks. Even if we only get a 4th. If we take a MLB @ 27, I’ll be ill. Major reach to fill a need at a position where you can find suitable starters for cheap. this years free agent class, Alex Anzalone got the 2nd richest contract among off hall LBers 3 years. 18.75M, 9 guaranteed. Lots of solid starters getting paid 2-6M. Still available: Zach Cunningham Deion Jones Myles Jack Cory Littleton Kyle Van Noy Neville Hewitt Kwon Alexander Jayon Brown Jarrad Davis Nick Kwiatkoski
  22. What do you think he needs at WR. Super tall, super fast? Those are nice to have if you can run great routes and catch the ball. Josh needs WRs that can get open and catch the ball. Addison is, at worst, the 2nd best in this draft class in both regards. He also needs a RT that isn’t equal to a fat dump. While I prefer Addison, I wouldn’t be upset if we decided to take Wright, Jones or Harrison over him. I just think Addison is a sure thing and would be a great contributor for 5 years. don’t hold your breath.
  23. Sorry, I haven’t been following whatever conversation is going on. You think we should trade for Renfrow and Maxx? Lol. They aren’t trading Maxx. He’s the ONLY beloved raider right now (I live in Vegas and everyone LOVES that guy). The raiders also have an almost 50M dead cap hit if they trade him. and how would we fit this 30m+ under the cap. or maybe I missed the sarcasm?
  24. Take a MLB…..with a 2nd rd grade with a 1st rd pick….. over a WR or a OT. Just no. but we probably will and then we can run Gabe Davis out there at WR2 and Spencer Brown at RT and score 10 points in the AFCCG again. Our OL sucked. Our WRs outside of Diggs sucked. We have Josh Allen….. give him SOMETHING
  25. Right….and addison IS currently seen as a 1st round pick….if not early 2nd round pick. Im not saying anything about the future. I’m saying that I think, in THIS draft class, he should be a first round pick. I’m saying that I think he’d be a great pick and fit for us. I think he’s a much better all around WR than Gabe Davis and would start over himright now. I don’t think there’s any other WR in the class that would for sure start over Gabe other than maybe JSN…. But he’s best inside.
