KC has their fair share of draft pick trade blunders. Just so happens that the 2 that are associated with us turned out to be great for KC. No one associates Skyy Moore with us, but I do. I thought he’d be a target for us 2 years ago and then they traded up ahead of us and snagged him. But he’s 💩

Correct- I misspoke. Doesn’t change the fact that we know have a 3rd rd pick in a draft where there is good value in that range…..and not so much value with the 4th we traded

To me the question becomes: which one will make a play when you need it in the playoffs.

You’re saying teams should base their first rd pick on what another team deems as worthy. I can’t get on board with that. Do the work. Make your board and stick with it. If you can’t trust your FO to do that and instead follow another teams board, you should fire your FO. KC thought Mecole hardman was worth a 1st. He wasn’t imo. They thought Skyy moore was worth a 2nd. He wasn’t (although I thought it was a great pick at the time). They thought CEH was worth a 1st. He wasn’t. I can’t get on board with that. We hired a staff of professionals who busted their butts all season scouting these guys. Then when it comes down to our pick, we should select a player that we deemed, pardon the pun, “not worthy” of the selection just because the champions deem him worthy of a trade up? 🤷🏻‍♂️ not a fan of that way of thinking personally but I can understand why others would. Each team has different needs and fits for their scheme. KC has 2 guys that can play outside (maybe one, depending on rice). We don’t really have any that are ideal outside. I like a worthy in the slot, but not so much dealing with press. So I don’t see him as ideal for us (although I wouldn’t have been upset if he was our pick due to having an elite trait). I’m glad we don’t have to worry about him getting smacked and broken in half. I’m also happy that the chiefs took Worthy over Mcconkey. I thought that was a match made in heaven

I’d be very happy if we landed Dejean and Mitchell, Polk, mcconkey or Franklin.

Getting additional picks (including a day 2 pick) and being on the board with a handful of players I’d like the bills to draft is cool with me. Am I happy with what he does on day 2? We’ll find out. But I’m good with what we did rd 1.

So we should have stayed at 28 and drafted a player we could’ve had later, while not getting an extra 3rd rd pick….just so KC wouldn’t be able to give us a free 3rd rd pick in order to select a player that may have been there when they picked at 32? 🤷🏻‍♂️ worrying about other teams = fail worrying about building your own team = yes please do what’s best for your team. I hear ya on all of that. Although I do think Dotson could still be a solid WR3. Not sure if his lack of production is solely based on his talent. Other than passing on Fautanu for another WR, it all comes down to believing in Maye or not. You don’t believe, so the trade makes sense. I do, so it doesn’t to me. You got a good haul of picks though.

No- for a few reasons: I just think they’re going to blow their draft if they draft another QB other than Maye. I also don’t think a QB needy team should ever trade away the ability to draft the best QB available in order to take a lesser QB. On top of that, I don’t like passing on Fashanu twice (to draft Wrs both times) when you already spent a 1st on Dotson 2 years ago and paid Mclaurin. So much invested in one position (a position dependent on a good QB) while the OL and DL are barren wastelands of talent. if you think JJ = Maye (or Daniels) it’s an unbelievably good trade….and that’s certainly possible. I just don’t believe that to be true. I’m not a JJ believer, but I see why teams would draft him later in rd 1. I love Mayes potential.

Idk, I guess it just depends which WRs you want really bad, but for me it’s Nabers, MHj, Odunze, BTj, Mitchell, Legette, Worthy, Mcconkey, Franklin and Polk. Those are the guys I’d be happy about taking with our 1st pick (Franklin and Polk preferably in a trade back). I’d be happy with Pearsall, Coleman and Wilson would be nice if they were the 2nd WR we drafted. I think they’re all gone by 60 but it’s possible. Baler is the only guy I think has a good chance of being there and he’s more of a 3rd rd guy for me.

Nah, they’d just be hiring a new HC and drafting another QB in 2-3 years while never making the playoffs 😉 like I said- just a matter of opinion on the QB. I like Maye and think passing on him will be a mistake. I hope the pats pass on him or trade back if Wash takes Jayden
