Good luck with that. Anything can happen….but that’s not happening imo. Seems to me they’re going to roll with what they got plus maybe a 2nd 3rd tier FA if one happens to come available and take less money than they thought. Bottom line- it doesn’t matter if our WR group is better than last years as long as our TE group is better, our RB group is better and our OL is at least as good. Not to mention our coaches. I think there’s too much infatuation with WRs in this fan base. They matter, don’t get me wrong….but let’s not act like having an elite War unit is needed to win a SB.

For sure. Doesn’t look like he was trying to add a power back like many were thinking. Looks to me like we drafted James Cooks eventual replacement. Can’t pay RBs big bucks! He’s a helluva receiver too. Cook needs to start catching the ball in the end zone

New Bill - former Lion Quintez Cephus signed (Update: Now released)

Might be right, but one could also say that he signed John brown, Beasley, traded for Diggs, signed Harty, drafted shakir and signed samuel. 🤷🏻♂️ doesn’t seem that unbalanced to me I agree -

As they did Diggs, Beasley John brown, gabe Davis in rd 4 and Shakir in rd 5 -
I agree that we don’t need a true elite WR if we have 5-6 good playmakers. Spread it out. Makes it tougher to scheme against and you don’t have to worry about a diva wrecking the locker room not saying I don’t want one. I do. I just don’t think it’s needed to win a SB

Do you think Benjamin is comparable to Keon Coleman as an athlete? -

Or it just shows how our FO valued the WRs available vs the players that we drafted. -
You think all the GMs know how everyone feels about the other prospects? Might be true but if this is the case, I would think, in a multi billion dollar industry, that GMs would be a little more discreet considering the drafts are their livelihood. you guys enjoy, but knowing which players will be available in each round makes this MUCH different exercise than what the GMs are doing. 💯

And here’s the perfect example Imagine if we took a slot WR before an X? But knowing that Franklin was available with our 3rd pick allows you to add yet another slot WR before the X. with the 60th pick, the Buffalo bills select their 3rd string slot WR. I like Wilson. I think he’s landed in a great spot. There’s just no way we could’ve taken him in rd 2 unless we knew which WRs would be availble in rd 3. Sorry, I think it’s a stupid game. I’d recommend starting the game while the draft is going on and make your picks in real time so you don’t have the benefit of knowing which positions/players you can wait on due to players slipping.

He’s a free stash as he allows us to have an additional PS spot. It’s a 7th round pick…. We have a year to work with him with zero downside
-
lol…..if we would’ve had better 5th string LBs….those aren’t guys on the roster. You think they could’ve brought another FA LB in that could’ve learned the playbook and start vs Kelce and got the job done? Again, no. Anyone we would’ve had would’ve been taken to the woodshed. There’s no way a team coached by McD could take the champs to the final minute if their roster wasn’t good enough If the roster had one less injury at LB, I think we win that game. Our top 3 CBs were also injured ….vs Pat Mahomes and Andy Reid. The roster was legit. The best opening day roster we’ve had with Josh Allen imo

Rd 5, Pick 160: LB Edefuan Ulofoshio, Washington

Love his interview. What a sharp kid -
And by agreeing with this, you agree that the roster was good enough. If it wasn’t good enough we couldn’t have been so close to winning with such bad coaching…. No?
-
Agree to disagree regarding the roster. It was legit. We had bad luck with injuries and we didn’t execute. Regarding McD, you might be right. He stunk it up that game. He’s stunk it up on several occasions including every season ending loss. I like the guy and I think he may eventually evolve into a championship caliber coach….but he’s not right now.
-
No….our roster WAS good enough. We just didn’t make the plays and/or our coaches didn’t do a good enough job. let’s not mention our starting LB that was covering Kelce on both Tds was unemployed on thanksgiving day. Our top 4 LBs all impacted by Injury, von fell off a cliff, Tre injured, Benford injured, Douglas injured, gabe injured, Diggs, the worst ever version of himself, Rapp injured.

I can’t recall any instances in which I didn’t agree with one of your takes 👍🏻
-
I think this turns out to be the best pick in the draft
-
One of the reasons we didn’t do anything with it is because our all pro elite 27M WR dropped a wide open pass. Another reason is our pro bowl LT got embarrassed on the games 2nd most important play. We were a couple plays away from beating the champs….. We didn’t win a Super Bowl, but it wasn’t because of our roster

If you’re upset about the WR room - BLAME DIGGS
NewEra replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
One helluva post! 👍🏻 -
Know anything about him?

Do you think Coleman is strictly an option the short and intermediate game? He may lack the explosion at the top of his routes to get open over the top but if he’s one on one he’s already somewhat open with the proper pass. He replaced our run blocking X WR with another run blocking X. But this one can actually make contested catches and even be a threat after the catch. The run game will be a big part of our offense and he can be an asset there. The weather will also play a role in our offense. Physicality is extremely important. Coleman is a physical component in both our run and pass game. Samuel has speed. Shakir has speed. Cook has speed. Kincaid has speed. Bringing in some muscle helps. Not to mention that the draft isn’t over and there are still more speed option available. Replacing what Gabe did well is complete. We replaced him with a superior player (imo anyway) that can do everything he did as well as thing he couldn’t do (contested catches and rac) And his lack of balance. Dude looks so dam weak!

Anywhere near enough? As in what- we still have 7 picks…..we’ll draft another. Maybe even 2 Coleman, Samuel, Shakir, Hollins- Kincaid- knox we’ll be running lots of 12 personnel.and a good amount of 11. We’ll run some 10, but probably not too much….especially in the playoffs when the weather 💩 Sure, I’ll be ecstatic if we can land one or two of Franklin, Baker, Walker, Washington, rice, Wilson, thrash, cowing, Johnson, smith, Coker and a few others. Considering the depth of this WR class, I think Beane did good by waiting until day 3 to draft a 2nd WR. That said….if he doesn’t add another, I’ll be disappointed and chalk it up as a missed opportunity
