The team made a lot of mistakes. Hopefully they worked them out of their system. Green Bay ran a pretty solid game plan, and the Bills looked a bit lackluster. The turnovers were very costly. However, the refs were a bit over the top. I'm only a bit into the second half. I don't care about this game. I think when we get TO back and they start playing like they give a damn, this will be a good team.

I was irritated by the fake punt till I heard the explanation. Edwards interception and the fumbled punt were the other huge plays that turned the game around. Levitre got bowled over...I'm thinking the other guy just got the jump on him, and he did not recover. He'll learn from that. Collinsworth overreacted. There were many big plays that just went by without any comment. The Bills did a pretty good job executing the no-huddle for the entire game. It's a good sign. I don't think they'll expose a lot of their offense prior to the opener. Chris Ellis looked good at times. So did Nic Harris. There was some good hitting going on out there. Bottom line, I think we'll be okay. We were 2 plays away from 9-7 last year, and I think we could've taken at least one of the Miami games. We are underestimated by the league. I hope Maybin causes a major upswing in the pass rush. They need to wreak havoc, and right now they just reek.

That delay of game play was one of the worst calls in history. The delay was after a t.v. timeout, and the flag hit Piccone in the back as he was running out of bounds with the first down. I've never seen a delay of game called after the play was over. It took away a first down, and ended the game. And why would you call delay of game after a t.v. timeout?

Beckett 2009 pro football preview magazine
TC in St. Louis replied to major's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We were a JP Lostman fumble and some cowardly coaching v. Cleveland away from being 9-7. With all the injuries, Schobel missing most of the year (we were 3-9 without him), and Peters playing like a d-bag....this team ain't far from winning the division. It all depends on Edwards and if he has enough time to do what he needs to do. -
Are the Bills working out Chase Patton today?
TC in St. Louis replied to Stl Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Chase Daniel had not been on Missouri, Chase Patton would've played full time, and probably would've been a very successful player. He is a very talented guy. Otherwise they would not waste their time looking at him. And Missouri ran a spread offense, almost a no-huddle, which could give the kid an advantage. I wasn't born here in Missouri (from Sanborn, NY), so I don't have the innate hatred for all things Kansas. But I do think somebody should recommend Atkins to the KU football coach. -
Felser lost me when he referred to Peters "assent" into stardom. I think he was loaded when he wrote that thing. That's a high school error. They showed foresight by drafting replacements for Clements and Winfield. They erred on Pat Williams. Remember when they signed Bryce Paup? They've stepped up when they deemed it necessary. I don't care what Felser says, really. I'm tired of mediocrity, but dwelling on the past doesn't help. Let's hope they start playing excellent football.

T.O. living in hotel this season??
TC in St. Louis replied to extrahammer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mark McGwire lived at the Ritz here in St. Louis his entire tenure. From what I understand, he was a big fan of the juice bar. -
Maybe he was at the wrong house. Or maybe he can launch the Ambien defense. Either way, it makes no sense....none of it.

Rams released LB Pisa Tinoisamoa
TC in St. Louis replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This guy was a 2nd round "show-off" pick by Mike Martz. He flies all over the field and hits pretty hard. I think he's their best defensive player. The reason he makes so many tackles is that the DL sucks so bad that linebackers are overly busy. I'd like to see him on the Bills. When healthy, he is a real competitor. -
A guy on St. Louis radio today proclaimed it a brilliant move by the Rams, that they were able to get ANYTHING for Brian Leonard. He compared the move with Branch Rickey's signing of Jackie Robinson. I'm not kidding. That's what this guy, a professional radio host, had to say about the Brian Leonard trade. He went on to say "Leonard will probably play for the Bengals....after all THEY ARE THE BENGALS." As if the 2-14 Rams were anything special. I liked Leonard too, coming out of Rutgers. I am not surprised that the Rams were unable to figure out how to use him.

If you go to that fine story by Vic Carucci on our new offensive linemen, there is a link to a 6 minute recap of the AFC East Draft. It opens with a list of the Bills draft, mentions Maybin and Wood...and then rolls on to the rest of the AFC East. They devoted 16 seconds to our draft, and the balance went to the rest of the division. How pathetic.

http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewp...mp;pr_key=27755 I'm not sure if that posted a link, I'm too dumb to be in here anyway. But that is the Rivals.com report of Nic Harris when he committed to Oklahoma. 5th ranked DB in the country. 4.5 in the 40. 4 star recruit. He's a pretty good athlete, and he is a ball hawk, and I think he'll be one of those guys that just gets after the ball. We shall see. He comes from a winning program.

I think it's a legitimate point. I've noted since they hired Kollar that the only thing he excelled at was screaming at guys. When he was with the Rams, he blew thru a bunch of first round picks (Damione Lewis, Jimmie Kennedy, Ryan Pickett) and they did not do squat. Pickett seemed to come around, but only AFTER Kollar left. There was a reason that McCargo went in the first round. He has talent. Indy thought enough to trade for him. Not a lot. But he flunked the physical. I personally believe McCargo will have a very nice year. And Stroud, Williams, Johnson, Schobel, et. al...they will improve. The new picks will make us better. The new DL coach was Green Bay's defensive coordinator. I think he'll make them a better team. -
Hey, every team has a reason for drafting their guys. Patrick Chung is what he is. The guy we picked from Oklahoma has 4.6% body fat, and had a great Senior Bowl. They all look good on paper. Our new tight end looks like a steal too. I think it's too early to give the Pats credit for drafting any individual. I do give them props, however, for somehow having at one point 5 2nd round picks.....they traded out and now have at least 2 in next year's 2nd round. They seem to have a knack for that. As far as the defense in the Giants/Bills super bowl, hey. Listen, if Norwood had made that kick, we'd be whistling a different tune. I don't know how Hostetler held that ball when Bruce had him in the end zone. By the way, that was nearly two decades ago, so at some point we need to move on.

Anybody catch that ESPN segment on OJ Brigance, suffering from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)? He is a brave man who has found new meaning in his life. This is very inspiring stuff. I hope you had a chance to see that, and I hope that you have health and happiness in your lives, aside from the misery of being a Bills fan. It is a misery for which I am thankful every day of my life. Peace all.

I'm optimistic that those guys will come back healthy, and it will be like adding an extra 3 players to this year's draft. Plus, Schobel's coming back, and he was probably missed more than anybody. There is a reason they drafted Ellis, and if you read his profile, you will see that the Bills were not alone in assessing his talents. I personally believe a new DL coach will make a huge difference with Ellis and especially McCargo.

exactly. 2 of them are safeties, and you can always use more special teams guys. maybe they know more than we know. let's see what they do with udfas.

Rams buy Sanchez a plane ticket
TC in St. Louis replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Does anybody believe that buying a plane ticket means anything? If they draft him, they'd probably pick him up in a private jet. For 60 million bucks they are investing a $1000 first class seat? Hardly. -
I'm optimistic. Really.

Hey, I don't eat bluegills!! But yes, I am looking at the Bills thru rose-colored glasses. Lemons into lemonade. It's spring. Draft day. One of the best days of the year tomorrow. a couple years ago i invented about 200 new swear words when they picked Whitner. i don't know what pick would make me happy tomorrow. ideally, i would like to see somebody like Sanchez drop to them, and have them pick up an extra choice to trade down. but that never happens. i know everybody loves Pettigrew, but my opinion is that Chase Coffman will emerge from this draft as the best receiving tight end in years. he gets open and catches every pass he touches. -

By the way, I am tired of reading what a horrible choice the Bills made in Mike Williams. I remember at the time he was highly rated, and he was all over ESPN. He was a great choice AT THE TIME. My only argument against the pick at the time was that I thought we should trade down and get more picks. I remember posting that one pick cannot make that big a difference in that crappy team. Williams did not live up to his billing. The Bills did not make a bad choice. He just took the money and loafed his way off the team. -
Kollar is gone. I don't think that guy knew how to coach. He could yell real loud, and the talent of the players got them to the level of mediocrity we've seen for years. I think the 71 Kenmore West Radar Defense could get 24 sacks in the NFL. There is a reason McCargo was a first round choice. Talent. Chris Ellis was a 3rd round pick. There is something wrong with labelling people "bust" and not looking at the coach. While at St. Louis, Kollar coached 3 first round DL picks into complete mediocrity. I am optimistic because we have Schobel, McCargo, and Ellis returning...healthy. Also, Bowen, Youboty, etc. I really believe McCargo can become something special.
