  1. Kollar has coached 4 first round defensive lineman, and not one of them has materialized under his tutelage. Screw you for calling my logic pathetic. You don't know me any more than I know Kollar. But look at the results of the Rams having 3 first round DL's and the Bills having McCargo, and they have all failed. I know, it must be my pathetic logic. Couldn't be the guy who coached 4 FIRST ROUND PICK DEFENSIVE LINEMEN RIGHT OFF THEIR FRIGGIN TEAMS.
  2. I don't know where this respect for Kollar comes from. I was here when all he did was yell at a bunch of guys. At one point they had 3 first round defensive linemen, and they all were flops. He was loud, and they did not produce. One of them, Ryan Pickett, only flourished after Kollar left. The other two were Jimmy Kennedy and Damione Lewis....both highly regarded coming out of college. I've heard that drafting DT is one of the riskier moves. I don't know about that. But they sure couldn't get much out of that position when Kollar was here in St. Louis. I don't smoke dope. I drink a lot. Nevertheless, I just don't think Kollar is that good of a coach. I don't know if McCargo's failure thusfar is due to poor coaching, lazy attitude, injuries, or what. I do believe that he will have a fresh look from a new coach. What's the harm with having him come to camp?
  3. It's a matter of conjecture at this point. Kiper has Brown and Orakpo available at number 11, and the Bills passing on him for the tight end. That would be a mistake, don't you think?
  4. My point is, there was something there with McCargo that caused the Bills to move up. From what we were told, the Giants were set to draft McCargo. Clearly he has some abilities, or he would not have been chosen in the first round. I know there are many examples of first round duds, don't need to read about them. However, the Colts attempted to trade for the guy, so that tells me he has some value. He's not just a chunk of dead meat. I think he'll get healthy and become a very good lineman someplace. Stroud can't play forever.
  5. Kollar is FAMOUS for yelling. I went to a couple Rams' practices and you could hear that guy screaming from the parking lot.
  6. What we really really need is a pass rushing demon. The pass rush basically sucked after Schobel went down in Game 5. Imagine somebody like Orakpo on the other side of a healthy Schobel. That's what we need. It's possible we have a quarterback land in our lap....like the year we took Whitner and we had Cutler and Leinart in our laps, and chose not to make a move. Maybe these guys would use draft choices as commodities, and do something besides stare at the monitors and cross off names. There will be tight ends available in the 2nd and 3rd. At the risk of being redundant, I hope they choose Chase Coffman from Missouri, who has the best hands I've ever seen, and is just a great player. His dad was an All-Pro with the Packers. Coffman will become a star in this league, and I'd like to see that happen as a Buffalo Bill. So, in the first we should either take a DE, trade down and take a DE, use the extra pick to get Chase Coffman.
  7. Kollar's new job at Houston is a promotion....he's now the Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Line Coach. I hope they like yelling down there. I'm not that sad at all that Bill Kollar is gone. I live in St. Louis where he used to coach, and I mentioned when the Bills hired him that he yelled a lot, but I didn't see anything spectacular going on with that line. If he had a part in deciding who to keep on the DL in Buffalo, the motor guys who had a top individual number of 4 sacks....and he failed to develop John McCargo. Remember this next year when McCargo becomes a good solid player. He did not develop under Kollar. A first round pick must contribute. I hope they get somebody competent in there.
  8. I am still a passionate fan. I have grown to expect nothing from the team, and therefore am less disappointed. I still check in here 20 times a day for news, but the first thing I see is that header about becoming a dispassionate fan. I think it's time to move on.
  9. That blown call on the kickoff in the Arizona game....the ball never went out of bounds, and if it nicked that dude's fingertip, he was in bounds at the time. Had Arizona not won, that would've been just a very costly error. And the roughing the punter call....what the hell. They nearly gave Pittsburgh an extra 3. Thank God for Karma. I don't know who will win this game, but the ref's idiocy could've been costly. These are the best officials in the game?
  10. I agree with you. Coffman is an excellent player who catches any ball near him. He was first team All-American, Gresham first team all Big 12. Coffman will slip to the 2nd, maybe even late second for a trade-up.
  11. The Oklahoma guy is great, but I think he is overrated. No way would I take him at #11. Let's wait till the Wonderlic comes out. Coffman's dad was a Pro-bowl player, so we know Chase has the gene pool.
  12. He has made some fantastic catches. In a preseason analysis his blocking was questioned. I don't remember any other mentions of that particular weakness. He is in a spread offense, and they scored a ton of points. I supposed he threw a block or two. He's 6'6" 250, I would imagine he can block. He does everything else.
  13. Chase Coffman was first team AP All-America, 2nd team All Big 12. His father is former Packer Pro Bowl player Paul Coffman. This guy is like 6'6" 250 and made great catches all year long. He missed a couple games with turf toe, but still caught at least a dozen TD passes. He's a great athlete. He hurdled guys. He's amazing. I don't want us to use a first round pick on a tight end, especially when Coffman can be had in the 2nd or 3rd. He's what we need. Go to youtube and punch in his name. You'll see dozens of highlights. There were a couple catches in the Big 12 Championship game that were amazing parallel to the ground catch the ball 5 feet out of bounds tap the toe types. You could say I'm a Missouri homer, but he's the only guy I'd draft for this team for certain. There are other players who will be drafted, but I think Coffman is the best fit for the Bills. We can finally end this tight end drought. Better than Metzelaars.
  14. Who gave Dockery 49 million? Who signed Kelsay and Denney and other mediocrities to large extensions? What is it with all the high motor white guys on our DL? Robert Royal? Maybe Langston Walker was a good signing, he seems to be living up to the deal as a Right Tackle. Why can't they lock in Jason Peters? (Why can't our receivers get open?) Remember the old days when our GM would sign cast-offs like Billy Brooks, Frank Lewis, and James Lofton? Why did they let Pat Williams go to Minnesota? The guy was and still is a beast. That was absurd. What happened to Chris Ellis? Who drafted McCargo? These are not Jauron's issues. Jauron is the head coach and made a lot of boneheaded calls this year. But the offense and defense did show improvement. Granted, we played some lousy teams. Let's dump Dockery's salary. Draft a center and move Duke Preston to left guard. Cut Robert Royal. Draft Chase Coffman. Sign Julius Peppers. Sign our own guy Crowell. Maybe James Hardy can come around in year two, or will he be Bucky Brooks? Get a good veteran backup QB in here. Sign Fred Jackson to a long-term deal. Bring in Jim Kelly as Special Assistant Head Coach in Charge of Play-Calling and Ass-Kicking. Bring in Andre Reed to teach a course in route running and getting open. Take clock management responsibility from Jauron and give it to one of the fans who sit behind the bench. Give it to the Elvis guy. Anybody but Jauron. Find somebody like London Fletcher to get up in people's grilles and make them play like they give a crap. Sign Jabari Greer to a long-term deal. Bring back Rusty Jones. They injuries pile up year after year since his departure. Practice outdoors, unless there is a lightning storm.
  15. There was a line in there about Patulski, who was the number one pick in the draft. Something like, "we've got Cowlings and Patulski, blah blah blah", maybe a line about one of them cruising around in a white Bronco. Does anybody remember that? I sing it once in a while when I'm drunk.
  16. He's 90. He bought the team nearly 50 years ago, and he has made so many mistakes. Why would we trust him now? Jauron cannot lead this group. They like him too much. This is not a popularity contest. They don't even practice outdoors. My totally drunk neighbor knew that the call in the Jets game was a mistake. He didn't have to go to Yale to figure that out.
  17. They sold out every game this year. If they keep Jauron, I believe they will not come close next year. For every 10,000 unsold seats, the impact is somewhere between $750,000 and $1 million. I don't know what they are paying Jauron, but it would seem to me that keeping him could end up costing this team millions in lost revenues (parking, concessions, tickets, merch), and the local blackouts would be costly as well. The Bills fans have shown tremendous faith and support for a team that has had a losing record for nearly a decade. It's time for Ralph to pony up and give a little back to the community by making the right choice. And in the process of doing the right thing, he will save himself millions of dollars. He's not an idiot. He's not doddering yet. I like Jauron. I also like my neighbor Jim, who is a great guy who drinks too much and could not coach the Bills. Even Jim, though, was at a loss as to why they passed on 2nd down against the Jets. And why they did what they did at halftime on Sunday. Jauron has made (or approved) some horrific calls this year. It's time to say goodbye, Dick.
  18. He had gone for it 3 times on 4th down, and had the wind, and was showing off. It was not necessary to win the game. it was necessary to show off his brilliance. It was a great call, but in my opinion it was done out of arrogance and braggadocio. The Pats would've whipped the bills either way. hell, they probably would've scored on the drive. He was just flexing his mental muscles. You guys are in love with Bellichick, go root for those guys. Oh wait, they are done too.
  19. I agree with Sullivan that the end of the first half was a complete fiasco. The reason the clock didn't stop with the whistle is that it was a running play, and the whistle was to signal the end of that play and to restart the clock. Sullivan is right, in my opinion, that Jauron should've been thinking TD first. Gutless, actually. But those other brilliant calls....leaving the offense out on 4th and 12 against the wind.....forcing the Bills to call a timeout....that would've worked on every other team in the league. that was just showing off And the quick kick on 3rd down? Same thing. Just Bellichik trying to add to his own legend. At the end of the game, Dierdork was saying that Edwards blindside was exposed the entire game. He failed to mention that the only Pro-Bowl player on the Bills missed the entire game. They kept pointing out how the sad Patriots had so many injuries. The Bills were missing a ton of talent as well.....Peters, Lynch, Schobel, Greer, etc. I'm glad the season is over, and for once I was rooting for the Fins. Screw Bellichik.
  20. I know what happened. And I sort of agree with them. He should've had that surgery in January. But the truth remains, he is a really good player, and it would not shock me if they sign him, and he should consider signing, because he got full pay for doing absolutely nothing but rehab. And Jauron's judgment cost us 2 games. How many wins were the result of his good coaching and judgment?
  21. Anybody remember Angelo Crowell? He was playing some pretty good football for us last year, and he did that surgery during training camp. They put him on IR. Do you guys think they'll try to bring him back? Seems to me he might solve a pretty big hole at LB. Also, our team has not been the same defensively since Schobel went down. Greer and Youboty have been gone for a while too. If we get all these guys back, and have a good draft (i.e., a real pass rushing guy and a tight end, Hello Chase Coffman) we'll be on the right track. Jauron can stay, as far as I'm concerned.
  22. After reading Ed Kilgore's essay on Dick Jauron, and having watched the tape of the press conference....I'm okay if Jauron stays. I think it was horrible for him to put the faith in the hands of Losman, maybe rewarding him for having gotten the team the lead. Truth be told, even had the Bills won, they didn't have much chance of making the playoffs. He's a good man, and even Thurman says the players love him. So if his contract has to be enforced, let it be. But let's find some new direction. We never should've let LeBeau go. He is the best DC in football. We had him, and we let him go.
  23. Right. They put JP in a very bad situation. Picture this. a technical foul is called, and the coach has the choice of who to put on the line to shoot the free throws.....and he chooses Shaq. That's a dumb idea. Odds are, he's gonna clang the shots. Just like JP. It's just not in him to succeed on that play yesterday.....compared with handing the ball to Lynch. This coach must go.
