  1. I don't know if another market would want a team like the Bills. The only humans on the planet who are passionate enough to tune in and watch this garbage are Bills fans. We are loyal. We have sold out entire seasons to watch mediocrity. 7-9 seems to be the target. This year I see 4-12. Or worse. It reminds me of the end of "Chinatown." The cop turns to Nicholson and says, "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown." We are used to the boneheaded decisions made by Jauron. Penalties, horrible tackling. It's a team in shambles. Yet here we are CARING about it. I don't even understand Ralph's point of view here. If he really cares about winning, he would show Jauron the door today and give the keys to a real coach.
  2. I think it was one of the most gutless calls I've ever seen. The penalty would've put them out of field goal range, and the defense might have stopped them and forced the punt. As it were, I was certain Bironas would make the kick. And he did. Game over. This team is done. It's got no hope. When your supposed leader doesn't believe that the defense can make a stop, you're done.
  3. I can't see them winning another game. I can't watch them any more. I have been a fan since like 1965, and this is the worst I've ever felt about the team. They've rendered the offense impotent. Edwards is a better player than this offense allows. Lynch, Jackson, Evans, Owens, Reed....I guess the OL just blows. But the offensive game plan has all the energy of a Ben Stein lecture.
  4. I used to go to the Bills Backers group here in St. Louis. But the team is playing so pathetic, even when they win it is ugly. The offense makes me sick. As long as Jauron is in charge, it will be difficult for me to do anything except read about them and follow the highlights. It's embarrassing.
  5. Two guys went down with groin injuries. We have more injuries every year than I remember us ever having in the past. What is the deal? Something is wrong when we lose guys like we're in Nam. I hope when they clean house they move everybody out.
  6. I would like to thank the team for reminding the sports world exactly what it is like to be a fan of the Buffalo Bills. Every year or so they set us up by doing something like last night....here are 3 examples: homerun throwback, 25-24 Dallas and 25-24 New England. All of those games were victories. All they had to do was NOT SCREW UP. and in each case, they BLEW IT. Toss in last year's game against the Jets. Ridiculous.
  7. I would like to thank the Buffalo Bills for taking the time to show whomever is paying attention just what it is like to be a fan of the Buffalo Bills. Every year or so they get in the national spotlight and set us up for major heartbreak. 3 great examples....homerun throwback, 25-24 Dallas, and 25-24 New England. All games that basically were victories. All they had to do was NOT SCREW UP. Let's throw
  8. Right. That Miami game in the 70's when the Bills were coming back and forced an obvious fumble, recovered by Pat Toomay. The refs called it "no fumble," and tacked on 15 yards to Toomay for bumping the ref on his way to recover the fumble. Instead of the Bills having the ball and charging onto a victory, Miami had the ball 15 yards further downfield. On the next play, Nottingham ran up the middle to the 1 yard line. It was horrible. I think the ref's name was Ron Bergman.
  9. I agree with you guys that those formation calls were total BS. They weren't called in preseason. They line up like that on every play. The formation was inconsequential to the actual play. It was not deceptive. The refs sucked tonight as usual. Donte's call was spearing. He did not hit the guy with his helmet. It wasn't spearing.
  10. Maybe McKelvin can learn something from this. That is an optimist's view. My opinion is that he clearly cost us the game. Clearly. Not a doubt.
  11. That runback was the dumbest play I've ever seen. That moron cost us the game. Plain and simple.
  12. I don't think Peters would've signed to play in Buffalo. He said he had told the team he would play out the final 2 years on his deal and move on. He wanted to be somewhere else. Also, Philly must've believed he had mad skills or they wouldn't have made the deal.
  13. I've seen all the preseason games. TO caught 2 fine passes at the top of game 1, and then disappeared. The affect of having him on the field is yet to be felt. I could sense that the Bills were not running anything except vanilla plays, merely for the sake of evaluating talent. I watched Bell in the game v. Chicago, and he looked really good. No mistakes, and athletic. The key to beating New England may be getting a pass rush on Brady. If they can pop him a few times, force a couple turnovers, the Bills can win that game.
  14. Just for fun, I looked at a bunch of plays from the Bears game. Bell was solid, effective on every play. On a td run, he peeled off and took Chicago's LB out of the play...resulting in the touchdown. Maybe he's healthy, and that's why they made the move. He's a big guy with a lot of talent. I'd rather see him on the field than Walker, who looked slow most of the time.
  15. I disagree with the idea that Jauron will be fired early in the season. I think the Bills will get off to a great start and be a very hard team to beat. The defense will be quick and unpredictable, and the no-huddle will drive people crazy. TO will be all over the place catching passes, and Lee Evans will sneak out for the occasional bomb. Parrish will be a wildcard in the offense. It's gonna be fabulous.
  16. AVP isn't redesigning the offense. He's calling the plays. The plays have already been designed, and he will mix them up, simplify the game plan, and hopefully throw in a few surprises. We've got TO and Evans ready to go. It should be a vast improvement.
  17. I remember writing a post the day they signed Langston Walker saying something like, this is totally gonna screw up the Jason Peters deal. He'll want to renegotiate today, and he deserves a new deal immediately.
  18. I think that's a pretty impressive list. All those players are good enough to play in this league. That's why we draft them. You've got 21 plus our 36, that's 57 over 10 years or so? approximately 6 players per year stick in the league? excellent.
  19. I disagree with Felser. Maybe he's trying to light a fire under Edwards. Edwards had some strong games last year. He's smart, and with all the elements in place, this year will be the big test for him. I think the genius who designed the offense that can't handle a 3-4, he is gone. Thank heavens for that. It ain't rocket science beating a 3-4.
  20. We've got plenty of talent on this squad. We have two pro bowl calibre wideouts, a good young QB, a pro bowl calibre RB, a tough OL. On Defense we have a very aggressive squad with a returning pro bowl DE and the 11th pick in the draft ready to roll. Solid LB's, really good DB's, and excellent special teams. If we can get a good offensive game plan, we can win 10 games no problem. I don't know if AVP is the guy, but Kelly seems to have faith in him. Come on.
  21. Hey it costs me nothing to be optimistic. We always sucked in preseason during the Kelly years.
  22. This team has more talent than last year. Last year we were 2 plays from being 9-7. We should've beat Miami at least once, and threw away both Jets games. We weren't that horrible, missing Schobel and others. I don't care about anything till Monday Night Football. I think Jauron is a pretty smart guy. Look for some surprises. I'm not a huge fan of Turk or Perry, but time will tell. Bring it.
  23. Maybe they were laughing because it was a preseason game that means nothing. And nobody got hurt. And they are one step closer to putting a hit on the Patriots on Monday Night Football. That's what I believe.
  24. Part of it is that our receivers can't seem to get open.....whereas the Steelers guys were open all night long. This offense is poorly designed. Run where they ain't and catch the ball. I'm glad Peters is gone. Maybe Bell will come out and become a good player. Gotta remember we were playing the Steelers on the road, and they have the best defense in football.
  25. Oh yeah I forgot. On that interception, the guy interfered with Evans. Hit him early. Should've been penalty, first and ten Bills.
