Yeah, I was there for that one. Opening day of 2005, maybe. Jags hit a toe tapping 25 yard touchdown in the back of the end zone as time expired. Or maybe the guy's feet were never in, but that was when the rule was that the defender couldn't push the receiver out of bounds. Quiet exit that day.

Josh Allen needs his Phil Jackson…(edited title)
TheBrownBear replied to Lenigmusx's topic in The Stadium Wall
People are crapping on the OP because of the ridiculous thread title, but he makes some good points here. -
Yeah, not sure what the deal is. I've always like Sal. Seems like a regular guy who knows and loves football, generally respects most everyone, and seems to enjoy his job.

If There's No 12th Defender, is Dorsey Still Employed??
TheBrownBear replied to theRalph's topic in The Stadium Wall
We outgained them by 75 yards. 7.1 yards per play versus 4.2 for Denver. Josh's turnovers and McDermott's coaching blunders got Dorsey fired. -
Yep. I like Sean and appreciate what he's done for the franchise, getting us turned around and raising expectations, but sometimes the voice in the room just loses its power to reach and motivate players/staff. I believe we've reached this point and it's the reason we are seeing sloppier and generally unfocused football over the past 12 months. You're right. It's time to turn the page.

I don't think much changes. Hoping for the best though.

Fire McDermott - 12 On the Field INEXCUSABLE

Does Beane go too? -
His behavior after the playoff game and the training camp walkout was the canary in the coalmine, so to speak. He knew nothing would change and that "the process" had run it's course.

[QUESTION] Your Opinion On This Team Will Change Tonight If:
TheBrownBear replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh has clearly slowed down and may be be over the hill now. I'd like to see what Kyle Allen could do to get this offense jumpstarted. JK. I just need a win this week and next week, no matter how ugly. Let the new guys on defense get acclimated and hopefully the other nicked up guys (Hyde, Benford, Knox, Bernard, etc) can get healthy for the stretch run. As for specifics, I'd like to see us go uptempo on offense for extended stretches, and a more effective Von once he goes to the smaller knee brace. -

Damn. Texans have rolled up 450 yards on the Bengals in a little over three quarters. -
The Bills also announced the signing of Trece Segundos.

A full week away and I already have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach about this one. -
Reasons why I'm still (barely) optimistic
TheBrownBear replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
We look mediocre-to-bad over the last five weeks, no doubt, and I do think that's where we are trending for the rest of the season. However, we were clearly "elite" and maybe the best team in the entire league from weeks 2-4. The defensive injuries are deeply concerning and will keep us from making the playoffs IMO, but the offense still has the potential to play at the level we saw against the Raiders, Dolphins and for one half against the Bucs. My faith meter is probably around 25% right now, but I was hovering in that range in '21, so I'm not ready pack it in just yet. -
You don't like Dane? Don't worry, the way this season is going I'm sure he'll pick up a 4-5 week injury by the 2nd quarter on Monday night.

Is Josh turning into a one read guy??
TheBrownBear replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't have a problem with a deep shot there to your "speedster" when he clearly has single coverage. Not a great route by Harty, but if Josh throws that ball more towards the middle of the field, then Harty can make a play on it. I think Josh is afraid to throw that bomb inside, because of how often he's been fooled and picked off by safety help. -
Proof that we should carry two punters. Oh, and bring back Taiwan Jones, too.
