I did not like trade based on what we gave up for him and this "win now" mode the Bills want to be in. Typically, WR take 2-3 years to develop. http://www.nfl.com/fantasy/story/0ap2000000363811/article/20-things-fantasy-owners-should-know-before-drafting "Are you in love with Sammy Watkins? Do you think Mike Evans and Brandin Cooks are a lock to thrive in 2014? Well, you might want to tap the brakes." "... of the five rookie receivers to post 1,000-plus yards since 2000, just two have done it in the last seven years." Lets take a look at that. There were 485 WR drafted from 2000 to 2014, only FIVE posted 1,000+ yards in their rookie year. FIVE. You know what the percentage is? 0.0103092783505155 = 1% Expecting Watkins to have some kind of "immediate impact" in his rookie year is laughable. It ignores reality. Watkins may very become the superstar we hope he can become, it just will not happen in 2014.

Syracuse can still make that claim because there is no other college in NY state that plays with the "big boys". UB might be trying to get there, but until they get out of the MAAC, and start winning consistently, Syracuse has nothing to worry about,

Am I the only putz working on Saturday?
Cynical replied to USMCBillsFan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm in my office 7 days a week. I'm self employed, and work from home. -
I love Royals. Definitely one of my favorite sub/sandwich, right up there with a Reuben. A Royal is a NE thing, if not just a WNY thing. Down here in the SE, finding a place that will serve Italian sausage is pretty hard to find. Capicola? Almost impossible.

Larry's Giant Subs. A chain shop, and not located in WNY. BUT: http://www.fooddrink-magazine.com/index.php/articles/restaurants/617-larrys-giant-subs and they still have ties to WNY: http://www.larryssubs.com/about-us.html

Georgia Guidestones get creepy addition

Come to Georgia. There are so many bat **** crazy people here, they have no idea what normal is. -
As an old metal head, and a huge AC/DC fan, this is great news. For those that did not know, Phil Rudd released a solo album on 8/29/2014 called "Head Job". http://loudwire.com/acdc-phil-rudd-solo-album-head-job-repo-man-lyric-video/

Its too late now. Should have fired him at halftime during the SD game. That would've "learned" him.

Come here to watch the knee jerk reactionaries go into full meltdown mode. Could be epic. -
As Dorkington has pointed out, this is done for every team. Here's the one for the Panthers, who are also 2-0: http://espn.go.com/blog/carolina-panthers/post/_/id/8762/the-film-dont-lie-panthers The whole concept of each of these is "A weekly look at what the <insert team name> must fix:" Guess what? They are going to be negative, regardless of how the team has performed to that point. I am not trying to defend Rodak, but this is a clear case of a blurb being taken out of context.

I think OP meant to refer to this one: http://espn.go.com/blog/buffalo-bills/post/_/id/13307/quick-fix-bills-in-red-zone I still do not find it overall inflammatory.

That's old school football. I have been told (for the past 2 decades at least) that this kind of football does not work anymore. It must be a mirage. -

What the "experts" are saying this week re the Bills/Fins
Cynical replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The days of looking at previous years coaching staffs and players (moreso the players) as being "largely the same" went bye bye when the NFL instituted free agency and the salary cap. That's because teams prior to the salary cap era were "largely the same" from year to year. Not anymore. Teams can literally change their fortunes from one season to the next. Moreno is not a factor? How about the Phins overhauling their Oline? How about losing Kiko? And not necessarily bad: How about acquiring Spikes? Pettine/Schwartz? You truly believe none of those things will have an impact on this years teams? This, I can agree with. -
What the "experts" are saying this week re the Bills/Fins
Cynical replied to CodeMonkey's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And until this past Sunday, the last time the Bills won in Chicago? What happened prior to this year is meaningless. This year, both teams have made changes by adding players, etc ...... With that said, I am expecting a win this week. I don't care if it's close or not. Just get the "W". -
I can see a lot of people on this board being just like that guy. The knee jerk reactions (both good and bad) around here are mind boggling.

Had a recruiter call me yesterday

In today's economic climate, a salary requirement that is higher than budgeted will get a prospect eliminated from consideration, even for the noobs out of school. I am seeing salary requirements being requested as part of the cover letter with the rationale the requirement is being used as a filter. Did not include a requirement in the letter? Eliminated, cannot follow direction. Too high? Eliminated, too expensive. Too low? Eliminated, either the candidate is desperate, and/or did not spend enough time researching salary for the career. SDS has the best solution. Get the employer to admit the job seeker is a viable candidate for the position. This can be spun by job seeker as "if I am not a viable candidate, then there is no need to discuss salary/compensation." Then ask the employer what they had budgeted for the position. Work from there. -
This has to be one of the stupidest concepts ever mentioned on this board. It only took me a couple of minutes to think this through and to realize how bad this concept was.
