  1. My frustration with Tyrod was his unwillingness to throw to anyone save wide open receivers and only seeing half the field. If he learns to trust his teammates he would be, in my opinion, electric.
  2. I agree with 26. But, when Pegula’s originally purchased the team, they specifically stated they were going to leave things as they were, admitting that they were ‘green’. Understandable but, not so shockingly, led to the same result on the field. When McD was hired, I believe they had realized that a complete overhaul was needed and that this included culture. Ridding an organization of people is one way to very clearly let people know that a new sheriff is in town and they have McD the power to do it. I, for one, am glad they came to the realization.
  3. Fantastic that you own your actions. What is the real shame is people rejoicing while his kids and wife have to look on. These are people’s lives.
  4. Can you please rename this topic to include some kind of QB talk? I don’t know what to do if it doesn’t include QB information anymore. Thanks in advance!
  5. By no means I am blaming anyone here, but there comes a point when you need to stand back and ask, “What are they doing here?” I never would have questioned ridiculing a trade by trade deal in the past but this front office IS different. We have no idea what’s in store next (plans for draft)! It’s the beauty of having a FO that is doing something other than trying to sell tickets...and it is so much fun to watch! PS: we are doing it with Russ here (who I really like). He’s not a football guy but DAMN he can market a product!!!!
  6. This entire thread, when combined with the Dareus, Sammy and Darby threads is why you need to knit pick through posts here: the FO (unlike our FO’s of past) have a true plan in place. Make this move which allows this move which allows this move and so on. The vast majority here take them for face value failing to understand that NONE of the people on this board know the big picture they are looking at, regardless of ‘football knowledge’. With all of that being said, I have an immense amount of respect for some of the regulars here and enjoy being the voyeur that I am here.
  7. 4.6 40 and the following Panthers records: As of 2017's NFL off-season, Kelvin Benjamin held at least 10 Panthers franchise records, including: Receptions: rookie season (73 in 2014), rookie game (9 on 2014-11-16 ATL) Receiving Yds: rookie season (1,008 in 2014) Receiving TDs: playoff game (2 on 2015-01-10 @SEA; with Steve Smith Sr.), rookie season (9 in 2014), rookie game (2 on 2015-01-10 @SEA; with David Gettis) Rec Yds/Game: rookie season (63.0 in 2014) Total TDs: playoff game (2 on 2015-01-10 @SEA; with Steve Smith Sr. x2, Jonathan Stewart, and Cam Newton) Yds from Scrimmage: rookie season (1,008 in 2014) 100+ yard receiving games: rookie season
  8. Yup. Thats the question. Wasnt he the kid with the weight problem?
  9. The fact that so many are saying that this team has no talent is baffling to me. They do have talent but no superstars...which is fine, in my opinion. I believe Ive mentioned it before but McD clearly believes in the Herb Brooks mentality...and he should. I got flamed for saying that I trusted this group (coaching and FO) after week one. Thats ok, but it was evident then that something was different this time (to me, at least). There is something different. Even in the postgame pressers, there is little to no me talk (even from Shady) and that is such a watershed. These men believe in what McD is selling (as well they should) and it is paying dividends.
  10. I got flamed for this when I said it before but I’ve trusted this group since they were brought on board as there was no reason not to. What was seemingly foolish transactions were clearly based on what they had seen...and since none of us are there, you have to trust in them. I look at what Sammy has done and simply say, “Thank God he is not ours”. Not that he hasn’t or won’t have big games but i don’t believe he will be worth what he demands come the end of this season. Would be nice to have him, but....
  11. This is a good day. Taking the long view with a new and, seemingly, more sane FO is a sign that the future is planned. I like that. While Sammy is a game changing player, the FO is the one who has access to the medical records. There may have been something there. Conversely, it may simply be a case of stack the draft. Either way, I trust this FO until they give me a reason not to.
  12. With all of the issues with how the case was handled, the full truth will never be known, in my opinion. Having watched the trial, the one thing that left me scratching my head was the prosecution stating that Goldman 'fought relentlessly for his life'. They said both his hands were bruised from throwing so many punches (that clearly landed). If that is the case, how would OJ have not had a single bruise? It is because of that that I believe he was responsible but did not commit the crime. I can't get my mind past that.

  14. I suspect so many do poorly since, as high schoolers, many did not need to work very hard to be better than most of their peers as they were simply gifted. Once presented with a group of people like them, however, intrinsic motivation comes into play and then everything changes. Some have it, some do not.
  15. This is a great thread: thanks to all for well thought out posts. I am no TT supporter (as mentioned in other threads). With that being said, getting rid of him now would be lunacy. There are methods the Bills can use to help him that could allow him move above the 'game manager' category in which he currently resides: scheme (more roll-outs, more 'pop' passes, deeper drops to see over the line (boggles my mind this has not been done yet). In addition, a better O line (although I believe the current line was good this year) should, by all logic, yield positive results. We still don't know what the O wil look like this year. We do know the coaches track records, however, and I believe TT will be better for it. TT's cost is exactly where it should be for what he currently is. Should the Bills scheme better to help him he will become a steal. Tanking, IMHO, should not be on the table as QB drafting, as clearly laid out up thread, is such an inexact science.
  16. I believe, if they do what Seattle does (deeper drops, designed roll-outs, etc), it will overcome the issue of him not being able to see wide-open receivers. That combined with the (supposedly coming) quick slants and pop passes and our strong running game could yield a very strong showing for TT this year. To accomplish this, Whaley will have to add to our WR corp. Should be an interesting year at the very least.
  17. Even though he didn't design Kubiak's O, he clearly has a handle on it and it should yield great results. Almost more importantly, in my opinion, is the fact that he fits the mold of teacher...a demanding one. I believe this is part of the cultural shift McD is bringing to the table and is critical to ending the drought. Seems like a good hire.
  18. I don't understand the desire for anyone from the Pats. A look at www.graphics.wsj.com/NFL-coaches shows that not a single member of Belichek's coaching tree has been highly successful as a HC. As far as the Bills not conducting a thorough search this time, they made it clear at the presser that the original net they cast included more than the four that made it to the final round. Holding that against them, to me, does not look at the entire picture.
  19. Thank God. I was scared beyond belief they were going to hire this guy. Putting my faith in the hope that AVP will be at OBD next Monday. With a D that plays up to snuff and a decent O, we stand a chance of being, at least, an entertaining team next year even with the challenging schedule noted above.
  20. This would be fantastic. Please, God, not the retread from Jax. I love the McDermott hire...and the coaches he's brought on board thus far...but I think so much of it rides on his OC pick (like most others here). I am trusting the wait is deliberate in an attempt to get the right coach. VanPelt would be good in my opinion. Here's to hoping you're right, Virgil.
  21. I love the hire. If we can get McCoy it seems as though something special could be happening at OBD...first time since the 80's. The switch back to a true 4-3 along with McDermott's belief in a more simple D should propel us way up in the rankings. Rex was pathetic and a choice that I was disgusted with it from the day he was hired. I like this hire: a former PA state champion wrestler so this man knows how to work. I also suspect he will hold these guys accountable which, I believe, was one of Rex's undoing (coupled with retaining a D that no longer works: he didn't change with the game). For the first time in many off seasons, I am now looking forward to next year. All of the others I was only excited about simply being at a game for the camaraderie. I believe this is the day Whaley saved his job and the Bills will become relevant again. The last question (and it's a doozie):who will our QB be? I hope they retain and restructure TT (hurts to say that) unless they've got another card up their sleeve. Let's go Buffalo!!!
