Ok, you’re thinking outside the box, which is good, but I don’t understand the benefit to the NFL of this premise at all. The NFL is already more popular than the CFL in Canada. It is absolutely no threat to the NFL; further, a merger doesn’t help the NFL. The player pool is too diluted. Perhaps the CFL is making these changes simply for the benefit of players and coaches, so they are playing the same brand of football should they have an opportunity to try out for or be hired by an NFL team. Perhaps they also see that their goofy football hasn’t caught on elsewhere. The only way I see any sort of “merger” between these leagues is if the CFL disbanded and one or two of their teams were incorporated into the NFL (Toronto, Montreal).

For the people who still just don't get the gist of this thread...I'm not suggesting that everything has gone perfectly. That's unrealistic and ridiculous. When looking at the big picture of where we sit after week 3, however, it is difficult to imagine much more going right for this team. I'm actually glad there are a number of things to work on and improve upon -- 3rd down defense, pass rush, CB2, safety play, downfield passing -- because who wants to peak with more than three months remaining in the regular season? It's almost scary to think what this team could be by January.

I’m glad everyone is worried about Josh and an offense putting up 30+ every game and 450 yards of offense.

I was looking at some random franchise stats today and realized Josh trails only Thurman Thomas and Andre Reed, who each had 522 career points as Bills. Josh has 422. That’s only 17 more rushing TDs… He’s also only 37 more passing TDs away from tying Jimbo. We are witnessing history.

Exactly. This team is 3-0 with multiple injuries and suspensions on defense, yet in the last two games they’ve allowed a combined total of 430 yards. The defense was always going to start slow and get better as the season progresses.

I agree, he made some nice plays. We just can’t expect him to cover a speed receiver running across the flat…he doesn’t have those wheels any more. Can’t wait for Hairston to get in there. The Bills gave up 4.5 yards per play and 250 yards total. There wasn’t a whole lot of butter on that toast.
