This post pretty much nails it. Last preseason the Jets were the sexy pick to compete with the Pats*** and make the playoffs while the Bills were still a "question mark." Fast forward a year and the Bills are being talked about as a new AFC power while the Jets still "hope" to become relevant. Joe Douglas is well respected and they are probably better than they were a year ago, but they don't deserve to be mentioned as contenders for anything other than a possible .500 record.

Preach, brother. I've worn my Bills fandom like a badge of honor here in NC for the past 20+ years...I'm all for the Bills picking up new fans, but don't come and tell me you've "always been a fan" but were conspicuously absent during the down times.

It really comes down to one thing — too many Gs in the name. Oh, and he’s a douche. His defensive players love him, though...go figure.

I bet the under 9 on Pats*** wins this season. No offensive weapons that scare anyone, and the defense lost significant contributors on the LB and DL corps. They have a great secondary and BB. Teams will go 8 in the box against them and force Stidham/Hoyer to make plays. Any team with an above average defense should feast.

11-13 wins. It’s a good schedule and the Bills under McD just don’t have a significant “bust” factor. He will keep them “humble and hungry” and now they have a roster more talented from top to bottom than the majority of their opponents.

Love the idea of a front-loaded out of conference schedule as has been proposed...the Bills can lose those first four NFC games quickly so they don’t negatively impact their playoff chances.

I hear ya, but it just seems odd for him. I guess he's a little delusional as to how much he has left in the tank. It will be funny to see Jests fans implode when Gase starts giving Gore carries at the expense of Bell.

I think a more appropriate way to think about this is "do you want football or not?" I'm sure STH who don't get to attend games will be compensated/refunded and not lose any priority status.

Hear hear. I always pay for it the next day, but there's nothing like the anticipation and buildup to a primetime game -- and we finally have a team capable of rising to the challenge.

I seem to recall an undercurrent that he had the refs in his pocket, but nothing quite so overt as what BB has done. One of my favorite memories as a Bills fan was how Buffalo ended Shula's coaching career. When BB retires (or dies) I don't think you'll see nearly the level of respect expressed by, in particular, fans of other teams.

That would be a disappointment. I'm predicting 3-4.

It's interesting you bring up Wentz. While he unquestionably has put up better numbers than Josh so far at the same respective point in their careers, I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest he is a bigger risk than Josh right now because of the significant injury history. I agree there is a lot of click-bait out there, but the "Josh Allen is/will be a bust" crowd was VERY vocal.

There are already articles in print claiming by 2021 Jake Fromm will take over the Bills' starting QB role. You're blind/deaf/ignorant if you don't acknowledge there is a significant contingent in the "QB evaluation" world who will only give Allen credit if they are forced to do so. I don't personally care one way or the other. I'm happy with Josh's progress so far and I expect that progression to continue. Wins and playoff runs are all that matter to me. But I don't ignore the chatter out there or pretend it doesn't exist.
