The most important aspect of a good run game is to prevent defenses from keying on the pass, and then to eat clock at the end of games.
You don’t consistently win in the NFL being one-dimensional. Teams that completely ignore the run game do not win championships.
That’s an interesting take, but I’ll stick with Ed. All reports were that he was basically un-blockable during camp. With Von causing disruption, a capable DT playing next to him, and Groot on the other side, I think we’ll see Ed blossom this year.
His OL was an absolute mess last season and he carried the team by becoming more of a runner. He has a legitimate chance to be an average NFL starter…which isn’t terrible.
