  1. Literally just did this against TB and then this game he's just running clear outs. I don't love gabe the player, but man do we set this guy up to not get targeted sometimes. I agree on balance... at times. Weather is about to get pretty lousy soon, and you need to be able to run the ball in those games. Right now i have 0 faith in our ability to do that. We don't have run plays we use a lot that work, it seems like we're constantly in the mud lately.
  2. Yeah... the Harty thing is weird. He's got running back quickness, hands, etc. and we can't put him on the field for 10-20 plays and pull gabe off? Or pull shakir off and throw diggs in the slot? I know they like gabe as a inline blocker in some formations, but if you jet motion harty across the formation it functions the exact same way as blocking. He's also like... the exact opposite of davis - short and quick, while davis is taller and takes a second to get going out of his breaks. Like... don't we want to stress the defense? Sherfield has top end speed on those deep crossers... shouldn't we use that speed to our advantage?
  3. Honestly with the timeout there why not just call it at 1 and kick? Probably miss but like... we just let the clock run out? What was that? Challenge was bad... there just wasn't enough value in it even though he probably caught it.
  4. No team has scored 30 points on the bills this season. Buffalo is 5-1 if they hold the opponent to 20 or less (included the jets here), and 0-3 if the opponent scores 21 or more. The Bills have been held under 21 points 4 times this year. To act like there isn't an issue with the offense is not accurate.
  5. Steelers might be able to get to 10 wins - theres some softies in there. They play their division tough. But 5 road games, and no passing game is probably going to be tough for them to go 5-4 rest of the way. Jets also have no passing game. That tends to rear its head more and more as the year goes on. Causing you to lose games you should probably win. Browns have a run game, and they have a defense. Probably my 2nd WC pick after the bengals. Same time though they turn the ball over more than buffalo. Their defense reminds me a bit of some of the Bills #1 defenses that just destroyed a few teams and had amazing stats. They shouldn't be a shoo-in. Houston has a soft schedule, only play 3 outdoor games rest of the year. But they also just lost to carolina last week so I'm not likely to annoint them anytime soon. Buffalo needs to win their home slate the rest of the way - Denver, NYJ, Dallas, NE. That would put them at 9 wins. Of the remaining games 1 win against Philly, KC, LAC, and Miami gets them to 10. I hate looking at a schedule and saying the Cliche thing of we can beat any of those teams, but its not wrong. They can go toe to toe with anyone for the most part and keep it close. I think the bigger issue with this team and how they are playing, is they absolutely can lose any of those 4 home games. 1 win on the road this year, and the only home loss was in London. My guess? 10-7. Denver, NYJ, NE, LAC, Miami as the W's.
  6. Stroud also had 119 net passing yards in a loss to the previously winless carolina panthers. On the plus side for Houston, they only play outdoors 3 times the rest of the regular season, are in the same 1PM window on sunday for almost every game, and have Arizona, Indianapolis, Denver, and Tennx2 on the schedule.
  7. Its a silent count. Almost every road team does this. Some teams hit the centers thigh or whatever, but that is the trigger that we're good to snap.
  8. 2 week span they lose 3 starters for the year. Take out Reader, Pratt, and Taylor-Britt from Cincy yesterday - it's going to take some time for a team to adjust to the new group of guys. I agree, they weren't getting home and they were picking them up. At the same time... 4 man rush wasn't doing enough either. At some point the coaching doesn't matter when the guys on the field aren't getting it done, and there aren't even guys on the bench you can put in.
  9. When the team has 1 or fewer turnovers - they are 4-1. When they have 2 or more, 1-3. There were some end game theatric fumbles by diggs and allen in these games, but the 5 straight weeks with an INT have been back breakers. When they win the turnover battle, 3-0. When they lose 2-4. Step 1 - Stop turning the ball over so damn much. 4-0 at home, 1-4 on the road (i counted the london game as a road game cuz... it is). There's still a real HF advantage in buffalo and all 4 of those should be considered very winnable. If i had to guess why we were having more success in no-huddle against cincinnati, a big piece of it is the complications we make for our offense. Away game, personnel changes and playcalls take longer, you line up later, you need to set line protections, you need to motion people, and you have to use a silent snap count which is a big tilt to the defense. Step 2 - Figure out how to speed up the pace on the road. Even if just for some stretches - if you get to 2nd and 1 just rush to the line and force them to react to it. If we spend 30 seconds changing in for some jumbo package we basically tilted our hand. Offense has looked bad on the road all year long. What in the world is going on with our running game. The last couple of weeks we have been getting killed with negative runs. When the team including allen rushes for 100 total yards - not even a really big amount - 5-0. When they are under 100 yards rushing as a team. 0-4. Step 3 - Create a run game that has an actual identity.
  10. Maybe not 25, but easily 20. Dolphins, Ravens, Jags, Chiefs, Eagles, Cowboys, Lions, 49ers. Who from the list below do you want over the current bills offense? Jets Patriots Steelers Browns Texans Colts Titans Raiders Chargers Broncos Commanders Giants Vikings Packers Bears Saints Falcons Bucs Panthers Rams Cardinals Seahawks
  11. Miller is here through next year. There won't be a trade partner, and it'd cost you cap space to release him. Knox probably is too. I don't know the rules on his roster bonus - if that travels with a trade, maybe you could get a team to be interested him. Acquiring team basically gets him at 1yr 9.9M and can probably spread that over 2 years? I still don't know if there's a big market there. Tre - its tough to say - there is 6.3M in cap savings. Assuming you have Benford, Douglas, Elam - Jackson is a UFA. Knee and Achilles now, its tough to want to do much more of a commitment. Hines is on there for 5.5 so he's gone for sure. Harty saves you about 4M. Since we don't use him at all i can't imagine why we pick that up. Neal saves you 3M. Morse saves you 8.5M. Poyer would save about 5.5M. I doubt they go this route unless he becomes a pain again. Hyde is a UFA. Gilliam saves about 2. Seems like a lot but then you realize that a UDFA gets like 800K and you realize how little it does. Extending douglas even a year would lower his cap hit. You can also release him for 0 dead money. Considering what we gave up to get him i put this at 0% chance if he's healthy. Content to let poyers contract play out.
  12. His base salary this year is 1.5 so they definitely kicked the can. It is not a 4 year deal at minimum. The out is still there in 2025 - you just only get 8.4M in cap savings to cut him. You can't cut him next year as his base salary is fully guaranteed. You can't trade him because 17.1M is a lot for a pass rusher that hasn't flashed since 2022 pre-injury.
  13. The lulls get sort of amplified when the defense struggles to get off the field.
  14. Love the optimism! Not even being sarcastic. This place gets so doom & gloom at times. Everyone has the answers and its fire everyone and focus on the draft or something. Going into this week I never felt particularly good about this game. Their defensive line is a bad matchup for our offense, and I knew we would struggle to run the ball and with pressure up the middle. So my opinion on a loss shouldn't change, even if the way they lost wasn't good. Defense mash unit didn't get the job done either. They made quite a few plays, but they just followed them with mistakes. 2-0 on turnovers, and some ref fairy dust sprinkled on top and boom - you lose. The team knows what is in front of them now and that mindset needs to change from "not wanting to make mistakes", to "doing what it takes to win".
  15. They just have no interior push to create problems for the quick release. We tried pressure packages up the middle to force errant throws and even they couldn't get home. LBs being total 0's in coverage and tackling meant they would carve us up in zone.
  16. A - I dunno how you put that on dorsey. If you don't send anyone deep you end up with spacing issues. Plus occaisionally you do want to take a shot. B - Perhaps they showed a different coverage look on that play C - It was a bad throw D - It was first down, its not like 3rd and 1.
  17. Maybe i'm think of a different one. I remember a 1x1 where the throw was to the wrong hash and he had to try and turn around for it.
  18. I have a hard time seeing all the 10-7 teams though. Baltimore Cincy Cleveland Miami KC Jaguars 7th spot between Houston (great win but they lost to carolina the week before), Pittsburgh (ahead of us at 5-3, but a lot of games left in division and they aren't very good), NYJ (great defense but missing a QB), Chargers, and buffalo. This is all assuming Buffalo couldn't catch Miami, which i've seen nothing from them to indicate that buffalo can't.
  19. I mean... a good throw to Harty and we might have a completion. A great throw and you might get a TD. That was neither.
  20. That's more of an indictment on the offensive line though. We always have problems with Cincy's size and strength on the line.
  21. They're nice at the tailgate though. Woo! My wife gave some friends them for a gift for some hardcore season ticket holder friends so I'm glad they can use them!
  22. Yeah that is so utterly trash and disrespectful to the players.
  23. I'm hoping he can be buffalo's version of Tom Coughlin. 4-6 in the playoffs before the first super bowl. Seemed like... kind of an a**hole, no nonsense type of dude.
  24. Rational football discussion (mostly). Twitter is full of hot heads and young people. I'm only 36, but I don't understand half the slang and people on twitter are insane. Bet? Bet what? So stupid.
  25. Both times hit in the pocket for the UCL injury too. Shoulder looks like he landed on it funny. He's still playing so i assume the AC joint and rotator cuff are probably fine.
