  1. Transition tag doesn't provide any compensation - and its 28 million vs 33 million. A bunch of teams have a TON of cap and could front load a deal that would literally be impossible for washington to match without gutting their already gutted roster.
  2. Frazier coached with him before last season so who knows - Frazier was also a defensive backs coach for many years so its not like we don't have an experienced coach who can work with the defensive backs.
  3. Both players got hurt when they arrived, it was more bad luck than anything else.
  4. Always the chance that they just sign a cousins or something too. They're in a unique spot with that much cap room. You could literally eat like 75 million in year 1 signing bonus to keep base salaries low for the life of the deal. You'd risk a hold out or something, but its hard to argue for a holdout when you got a huge guarantee paid out up front.
  5. All 3 of those receivers had speed questions. On the Zay scouting page it said this though and i giggled... "I thought along with Haason Reddick, he handled the process better than anybody in college football. He's got hands and toughness. ... People thought he couldn't run because most of his offense was underneath. I'll tell you right now, he ran away from people at the Senior Bowl. He went from a third- or fourth-round selection to a high second-round because he trusted the process." -- Mike Mayock
  6. So you're saying they just pick their guy at 1?
  7. Yeah - just throwing a bold idea out there. If they go non-QB at 1, then teams begin looking to trade up to 3 if theres a certain QB they want. Going to be a bizarre offseason and leadup to the draft.
  8. No, of course they wont. But when the franchise as it stands has literally never had a starting QB, it might be worth it to invest in it. They're at least a year out from competing - you get a full year with both of them and trade the extra piece a year later to a team for a 1st and change. Yes - its not maximizing your assets. Just looking at it from the perspective of the parade of terrible players they've had since tim couch... and how its corresponded to being the worst team in the league for an absurdly long time.
  9. Get one at 1 and at 4 - you can probably trade the one who doesn't win the job for a bunch later.
  10. Sportrac has it at $5,591,668. 4.3 in prorated bonus money, and a restructure bonus that lowered his cap hit from last year. Yeah - all the bonus money is already paid so that gets pushed into this year. Roster bonuses/workout bonuses don't count - as they were not met. Guaranteed base salary is also paid out, but he didn't have any.
  11. If he's a JAG, then the value has to be decent coming back. I believe his cap hit is the same whether we keep him or trade him (base salaries would be paid by the new team).
  12. Why don't we see how free agency plays out...? It starts like 2 months before the draft.
  13. I don't think the story is about the bills offseason. It's more about a person and a life and career altering injury. The team will be fine either way - we don't really have a star player.
  14. For sure - if a player is forced to retire early its almost always a big deal. Especially if its concussions.
  15. It's also great in baseball because there are sooooooo many leagues, soooooo many players. You can't watch them all. You can look at numbers, and pull out a top 50 prospect list of guys you like, and then from there watch tape. Still always comes down to tape. Football there are things you can analyze - whether you should go for 2 in x situation, win probabilities etc. But you can't really use it for accurate player evaluation. So many positions literally have no stats at the end of a game. I assume coaches see on film when a run goes for no yards, who is at fault. I don't need a computer to tell me that.
  16. "Playoff Caliber" also like - "The process"
  17. Why don't we see how this one turns out. I really doubt that 4/5 qb's go in the top 10.
  18. I think we're cool with trading in front of washington or arizona, but i doubt we trade in front of denver and NYJ.
  19. Well if the 2 that you value are the top 2, and they are gone before you can even trade for anyone... it doesn't make sense to trade for a guy you view as the 3rd best QB in the draft. If its true and 5 qb's go in the first like 15 picks (Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, Allen, and rudolph/jackson) - good players will be available at 21/22.
  20. Philly also got one back for the bradford trade - Derek Barnett.
  21. No - but i do think the eagles win that game with Tyrod playing QB.
  22. I just never understand burning a play on 1st or 2nd down... it just makes no sense. They line up 8 or 9 in the box, and you run right at them on the outside, and lose yards. I know you can't predict how they will line up when you call the outside zone play, but there has to be a contingency plan.
  23. We were absolutely thrashed on this board for doing the exact same thing against jax.
  24. That 3 play sequence was just awful. i think they lost yards, and used like 8 seconds of time.
  25. You have to at least get them going side to side. The run calls were just brutal. In the 4th quarter the motion timing was bad, they didnt do much under center either where its easier to get them on a misdirection, or get a reverse going.
