Taiwan Jones - Elite Gunner and now Captain
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to DasNootz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He calls the plays, he's got the headset, and he and the safeties make the checks. Him and Milano both do a lot of the same things when they're in nickel. As for their standard 4-3, putting him at Will would put milano at mike where he's undersized. -
He also never evolved. He's the same guy now that he was in 2015. He's a fantastic backup because he won't necessarily kill you. The 8-10% sack rate will still happen because he holds the ball, he won't turn it over much. Houston doesn't have the defense needed to play with a QB like Tyrod and be competitive. Cooks is fine. The backs are fine. But there will be a ton of blowouts, because ball control and security only get you so far when the defense is one of the worst units in the NFL.

Everyone is influenced in both directions by blowouts though. The other factor is garbage time. Did it matter that we beat miami by 3? No, because we were up 10 with under 2 to go. Buffalo gave up 7 in the last minute against NYJ week 1. Raiders scored with sub 2 minutes left in a 2 score game. Titans scored in the last 2 minutes of that blowout. Seattle scored in the last 2 minutes to lose by 10. Chargers almost did to lose by 3. 49ers scored in the last minute. Denver did - but cancelled by singletary. So 6 Garbage time scores - that literally meant nothing to the end result of games. I'm sure this happens throughout the league, but it also makes a game look a lot closer. The jets was a blowout, the dolphins game while tight, was a 2 score game in the last 2 minutes, raiders was really never in doubt, seattle was never in doubt. Same with SF. At teh end of the day, its hard to be motivated to stop the opponent when you are up 14 with 2 minutes left. You're just trying to get the game over with.

I'm glad Dennsion got fired too. He was at least as responsible for that dumpster fire of an offense. Any argument to keeping him would have been for 1 year only - I would've been OK with that. But they got a 3rd round pick (#65 for the trade) which to me was worth it. The team made the playoffs the previous year but they played a cupcake schedule, and were installing a new offense. The argument for losing him? He was really bad in that dennison offense. 134 yards passing, 1 pick, sacked twice, 3 points. In a playoff game. He rallied that team to that chiefs win that season when the season was like teetering on disaster ( ), and helped end the drought (snow game was also a big help). The man does deserve some respect.

Poll for fave nice restaurant :)
Bleeding Bills Blue replied to Alphadawg7's topic in Tailgate Central
We went for my wifes birthday and the food was really solid. Only minus was they sat us right by the air conditioner. It was hot outside, but the ladies were in sundresses and were freezing. Ah the buffalo mafia/lanova pizza don. I met the son when i was in catering at salvatore's, and he asked me where i got my pizza. I actually did buy it at la nova at the time, but i also mentioned that it was a tad pricey 😆. Now it's like absurdly pricey, and the quality is worse. -

Ok - somewhat strange timeframe to choose but - 5 of those participants had Gronk(* on the 2016-2017 one... he didn't play in the playoffs). 2 were Kelce. 1 was Ertz. and 1 was Olsen, and i guess Hooper is the 10th? I'm not sure how much better Hooper is than Knox tbh, his numbers are pretty underwhelming and he's not someone you walk in wondering how you're going to stop. So 7 of the last 14 super bowl participants were Gronk and Kelce. Also Brady and Mahomes were there. I'm not sure i buy into this the same way. -

I think it comes down to - if boettger is on the bench in the 5, if someone is injured - would you rather put boettger in and move ford or leave ford and insert brown? -

They moved davis around in the backfield quite a bit last year sort of like an H-Back. Likely only a handful of plays though. -

Spencer Brown was a tight end for his 8 man team in high school. He switched to tackle full time in college, and looks to be pretty athletic for those type of situations. I'm sure its on the table. -

Cody also played RT for a year, so to me as a depth option he gives you some flexibility there to not force a rookie into regular gametime. Gimme the best 5, and if ford is in, he's still probably my first guy going in at tackle if a tackle goes down. -

4-2 in the worst division in football. 3-7 outside the division. You aren't wrong lol -

I feel like this years draft and last years kind of stunk regarding tight ends. And as for a couple mil? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/tight-end/ Anyone on that list making 3m or less is not even really an upgrade. -
I think you'll see it be more like uber eats. You place your order in an app for the concession location you want, they tell you it is ready, and then you go to a counter and they hand you your food/drink (maybe a quick verification using your ticket barcode or something). Do beer only at other concession stands where you have to show ID, and get faster beer taps. Since they have to turn off beer at halftime - the app portion is unaffected.

One time i tried to get coffee during MNF (I think it was patriots buffalo in 2018 with derek anderson), and they just told me they were out of coffee. I don't drink during the games as I usually have to drive so I stop like an hour before kickoff + gametime + walk to the car and I'm good to go. Coffee doesn't like sober me up, but A - it was cold, and B - It's sort of a placebo effect on sobering you up a bit faster. I got a hot chocolate that was about half the size of the cup.. for like 8 dollars.

I look at it like the opportunity has never been right in the draft. In 2018 there were some solid ones in but the team was stripped to the studs so they had holes all over. They didn't have the picks to get the players in the 2nd like Geisicki, or Goedert. Andrews went before Philips in the 3rd, but we can agree philips is basically busted at this point. From 2019 - Knox is about the 3rd most productive TE in a class with Fant and Hock going in the 1st round. After Irv Smith, 4 more were picked ahead of him that haven't done much. They could have taken fant in the first (or traded down to someone wanting oliver), but i think buffalo was happy to let the chips fall and ended up with oliver. 2020 - Terrible TE draft (NE took 2, and already replaced both LOL), probably right to avoid reaching at a need position in a bad class. 2021 - Top heavy draft - Pitts went 4 so he was never even an option, and Friermuth may have been in the 2nd, but he went before buffalo's pick. I think they will prioritize it next season in some capacity. I don't think they need kittle, but knox will be up on his last year and I'd like to see him seriously pushed. -

He must've looked like crap in practice 😆 In all serious though - i think they carry 2 TEs on the PS, and he certainly is a possibility if he doesn't land elsewhere. Assuming the 2 (or 3 including gilliam) are healthy, they'll likely just keep those 3 active most of the time. If anyones banged up they can use that extra spot on the PS to bring someone in for a week or two. I think they look at him vs the PS guys and think - we can find a guy this good (or bad) at any point in time. -

Then he ran the ball a bunch in that game when all the running backs were hurt. So now he's a running back. 😆 -

I don't care either way on jones. There need to be dedicated ST players though - thats not a debate. -

I could honestly care less - however the 2019 team had a punt blocked, and a KO returned for a touchdown, and Jones was not on that team. I don't think i care if its Jones, just that they have solid players on special teams. I think its valuable from the depth of the team. -

He had 30 kicks returned last year, and the 2nd best average in the league.
