  1. I agree with your point about at least questioning whether Allen is the one to put the franchise future on. The interceptions are a concern but what's MORE of a concern to me is seeing the field, seeing open receivers, capitalizing on mistakes by the defence. I ask myself the question is Allen good but reckless, needing to mature Or is he just not THAT good?
  2. I thought the comments by Allen in different pressers: 'We need to come out of the half with more juice' and 'coach McDermott does a great job of teaching us situational football' Were concerning.
  3. I've seen Josh Allen go up a gear yes. And we've all seen the meltdown. The full context is I've seen the going up a gear against lesser teams. Not a criticism at all, he just plays the opposition thats there - but let's now see the Dallas TV game, next patriots game, Phillie game. Let see those and how he bounces back from the hit.
  4. Yeah that's interesting. First drive of the first game he looked great to me. I saw something 'happen' to him in the patriots game. His game is there and then can competely unravel it seems. I will say his biggest strength to me is his short memory. I've seen him come back from mistakes and he needs to continue to do that.
  5. What are examples of positives/signs of growth and progress for you?
  6. This is it. Starting to see these open receivers he's missing and often he's not even looking on one side of the field.
  7. Allen might be better in an uptempo offence when there's less time to 'think'.
  8. Continue to develop him but he will be judged in tough games. To judge him in the patriots game is fair. There are posters on here that are both 1. patient with him to play all season 2. are also are skeptical as to whether he is a high tier QB when they see games like Sunday. Theres a continuous judgement going on in people's minds, which admittedly is from play to play sometimes. For me, I need to see a 3TD game. I've seen a 3INT game. Point being we need to see good games to back up the flashes that we DO see. Need to see ONE good statistical day to show he can be consistent in a game. I'm viewing Allen through the lens of can he take us to the Superbowl.
  9. This is what I saw aswell. I saw it against the Packers last year. Panic. He seems to stop playing the game and plays the moment. When I think about it it may be when he plays really good quarterbacks?
  10. It is, it's also easier when you have nothing to prove. Allen knows he's got alot to prove and is impatient as a result.
  11. He should. Brady's very decisive when throwing it away. A few Superbowls help
  12. Looks like he didn't go through further progressions to the left - have we seen him do this??
  13. Absolutely, that way you 'develop' him by giving him a pressure 4th down.
  14. Keep the fire. Just play in a way that doesnt shorten your career and leaves the bills with a void at QB.
  15. Its harder to see what's going on with the coaching isn't it. With Allen we can see what's happening or make our judgments easier. With the coaching there has to be an element of faith they are doing the right thing. Dabolls been animated at him on the sideline in this game and the Bengals game after the INTS. Regarding the interceptions and sacks, McDermott said in today's presser (paraphrasing) that 'We have to continue to make it CLEAR what is acceptable and not'. However, Allen did say in last week's interview that 'mcdermott does a great job of teaching us situational football'. ?
  16. I hear you but his health as the franchise QB is more important than diving head first for a first down. His coach would say the same thing. Its symptomatic of his moment to moment thinking which can be brilliant but can also be haphazard. Easy to say after the event but weren't you concerned he would get injured at some point? He was getting hit alot and put himself in harm's way too much. I understand the game is about 'toughness' but if you keep running head first as a QB your going to get your head smashed sooner or later.
  17. Yes - how much better is the question. You will always see flashes of the IT FACTOR if it is there. Starting to doubt it with Allen but time will further tell.
  18. Totally. Why was he running head first like a running back? I know he has running talent, I get it. Slide!! I found that more frustrating than the interceptions Slide. You need to be there for the next play.
  19. Best development for Allen is to stay in the pocket and throw.
  20. Why didn't any player stand up to the player that layed the hit to Allen.
