  1. Maybe a separate thread on the Tailgate Forum so it stands out?
  2. It was nice when we used to get 100 seats together, but we cannot control the Bills decisions. I missed some old faces who could not come, met some new folks to look for next year, and honestly - this is like a family reunion with a football game in the middle! I repeat what I said earlier: BEST TBD/TSW TAILGATE EVER! Everyone's efforts in pulling this off were appreciated. I want to say thank you to everyone involved, starting with The Hammer. I will not name more names so I do not miss someone. R. Rich - How many days until Tailgate XI ?
  3. So, Buffalotone, Lori, and JohnC have a discussion/comments about Mark Schlereth, and as a result Tim ADDS to the conversation by responding. SJBF and BBB, I understand your point, but WHO decides where to draw the line? I can see it now: Tim, in the future please only answer questions that are directly addressed to you. <sarcasm button is in the ON postition> Rockpile - a curmudgeon and Tim G fan
  4. What size? BEST shirts yet!
  5. That is about the time I started my fire up and cracked open my first pregame beer. Had to stay warm until I could get some coffee! NICE video ! Great to see you on Sunday!
  6. Maybe the no-shows had more pressing matters. They DO have lives outside of the Bills. I enjoyed it (as I think a lot of others did). I thought it was cut too short.
  7. They were warming up some chords from Sweet Home Alabama and I shouted for them NOT to play Freebird, but they did anyway. Good joke. Another thing to consider, being a 4PM game gave us all day to "mingle". Sometimes with an early game everything seems rushed. Thanks to ALL. Best Tailgate ever!!!
  8. One daughter (babyrock) who always comes, cannot for the same reason. Working on her masters in speech pathology in New Haven; I think if it was a 1PM game she would have found a way to be at the game.
  9. I guess I should have conveyed MY sarcasm better, too (dual standards). Very poor writing on my part.
  10. I feel your pain. Since Nortel laid me off, I was unemployed just three months. I took a pay cut to take a contract to full time job (it was a dangled carrot only) that lasted 20 months. This time I was laid off only four weeks. Took another paycut - but a full time manager! Two months later, I was given the choice of part-time salary with benefits or unemployment. I chose to work Mon-Wed, although unemployment was about $30 less a week than working three days. I work. That is what I do. So most weeks are three days work, two days looking for another full time job, self-contract opportunities, or anything part-time to fill the void. I figure my salary has dropped $40K a year since 2006. I have been saving for this weekend for months. I buy very little I don't need, so when a WNYTBDGPS comes along, I can ''blow'' money on a Plate. Luckily the wife's day care is still going well, and my kids are old enough to support themselves.
  11. Yeah, over three hours away. We will miss you Diane, but we will be in OP on Saturday. See you at Danny's?
  12. What is amusing to me is that I grew up in this area, up until I was seventeen.. The country club used to be Bethlehem CC (after the steel plant). I used to caddy there. That 'million dollar acres' neighborhood is built on an abandoned rock quarry. We used to climb the shale cliffs there and fish in the ponds. Nothing big enough to keep. We used to set up bottles and cans against the cliff bottom and target shoot with BB guns and .22's. Father's and son's would cross the railroad tracks with their rifles and bring home pheasant and the occasional buck. Carhart brown with orange vests and tags were the normal attire. No one blinked if someone was walking down the street towards the fields with a rifle! It was suburban country, I guess. Those were good times. Those teenagers would have been safer in jail than going home back then. A dad throwing a full can of beer at McKelvin when he was sitting on the bench in the rockpile was OK, but if his teenage son went to McKelvin's house and vandalized his property - capital punishment at home. Heck kicker Booth Lustig missed a chip shot FG at the end of a game, resulting in a tie (no sudden death then), and he was roughed up when he came out of the stadium in his street clothes by some "fans", but no one went to his house.
  13. Complete strangers trespassing on your property in the middle of the night, perhaps only several yards away from your house/family/friends, teenagers (two 16 year olds) possibly drunk or high, with their intent unknown except to "make you pay" for screwing up a play IN A GAME is pretty scary to me. (get out the shotgun and dial 911!) Anonymous posters on the web, on the radio , ot tv - spewing from possibly thousands of miles away - OK. Seeing the replay 500 times - OK. Getting booed - OK. One is embarrassing the other is potentially physically threatening! I am not into a group hug cheer at the stadium (the Norwood reception was at a team rally after their first SB appearance), but I applaud all the Bills as they are introduced. No changes to my routine are planned for this week!
  14. I can bring a kitty cat carrier to borrow for lunch and some catnip to party on so you can both have lunch! My cats LOVE it. Let me know.
  15. Are you going to make the Psycho sit in the car again while you eat two plates, you heartless bastid?! Kalene (formerly Pebbles) is shaving my head with a straight razor tomorrow to help with the twin personna!
  16. General Rockpile reporting for duty!
  17. I will be there. You have my cell number. (urp)
  18. I could not believe my eyes when I saw that t-shirt!
  19. The game is still a tie. Updates to follow.
  20. Will you watch the Bills game tonight? I wait all year for the season to start. I have my fingers crossed!
  21. Nice recap and preview, Lori. The setting is so David and Goliath, it is like a Disney movie! I will be wearing my TBD Tailgate shirt from the 31-0 victory from a few years ago tonight. BTW: ESPN just announced that every team is still mathematically eligible for the Super Bowl!
  22. I like your attitude!
