In a move showing his disappointment over Buffalo's first round draft picks in recent years, Ralph Wilson promised to become more involved in the selection process.
In 1983 they selected quarterback Jim Kelly, who "took the money and ran" to the USFL's Houston Gamblers. (turned out OK )
In 1984, they chose running back Greg "Tinker" Bell, after trading down in round one, to get TWO second round picks. (Bell had some good seasons)
In 1985, they selected defensive back Derrick Burroughs. (played well until injured)
In 1986, they chose running back Ronnie Harmon and offensive lineman Will Wolford. (Harmon was good if you can forget the Drop and Wolford was GREAT)
And just who did Ralph Wilson have his eye on as his 1987 number one pick, most likely to to strengthen the 4-10 Bills? Oklahoma linebacker and steroid poster boy, Brian Bosworth!!
We're doooooooooomed!
