  1. The off season at the Stadium Wall!
  2. Some great memories there! The AFL made the NFL much stronger. I like it that despite the fact that the AFL was the upstart league, before it became ALL NFL, the leagues split the "Super" Bowl 2-2.
  3. Current plans are to be at the Miami game too. I am looking for two tickets (eBay surfing). Lot One Pole Five is the watering hole! BTW: GF uses HER OWN card. Man Rule?
  4. I like white tequila best and the prefer 100% agave. Nice buzz. Are you on the coast, or a White Mountain man? If you ever get back to Rochester, give us a holler. We can meet for Garbage plates.
  5. Barbecued Biker Bar Bird Flu?
  6. Have a great time at the game - all of you who are lucky enough to go. I live a lot closer than Boston but have other obligations Sunday. I will listen to the game on the radio and not complain.
  7. Says the guy who has seen V for Vendetta on DVD six times.
  8. Don't forget a very important trivia question: Q: What NFL team only lost ONE GAME in its entire history? A: Tonawanda. They lost one, tied two or three and then folded.
  9. The Road to Escondido by JJ Cale and Eric Clapton. link
  10. You are becoming a star, Ken! click here Article from Rochester's City Newspaper
  11. Um, I had two copies of #1. One of them was signed by Dave Sim - I was at a show in the early 80's and he signed it "To Tom, you lucky dog, these are rare". I do not remember the exact price, but I sold them both at considerable profit. I was a "dealer" for several years. I recently sold the "Wolveroach" parodies on eBay..
  12. I disliked it mainly because they made him too much of a vigilante. Small spoiler: Daredevil would never have stalked a killer (or rapist?) who got off on a legal technicality, only to terrify him and stand by motionless as a subway ran him down. I was amused by the fact that a woman was there with young children and had no qualms about the violence, but left as soon as it appeared DD and Elektra were going under the sheets.
  13. Nick has done well in the past. You would think he was the bloomin' Queen! Here are Nick's blogs from 2005: Friday Game Day Hope the GAME is better this year.
  14. Just curious, if anyone knows... Since Heinz Field was built so recently, why did they only build it to seat just under 65,000? Was it a matter of real estate limitations? I know the Steelers fans are rabid. When they play at the Ralph it can sometimes feel like a road game for us if we are in the wrong section! It seems like they would have wanted at least another 10K seats. 100K might be a bit of a stretch, but 75-80K would be easy sellouts, tater! It also seems odd to me that Chicago only seats about 66K fans in such a large city. It sure was nice in the 90's when Rich Stadium was filled to capacity most of the time with 80,000 strong.
  15. If you really loved her, you would take her to the game.
  16. Yes, it really is disgusting when the Steelers, Super Bowl defending champs, are averaging 6,000 fans per week LESS than the lowly Bills.
  17. Every year I go to two or three games. That fit MY life's budget and schedule. The plan is opening day, one snow game, and with luck something in between. The chance of a snow storm does not make me wait until game day to buy a ticket. I think the stadium capacity is about 4000 above league average for one of the smallest markets. Heck, if they just made the seating wide enough for an average person to fit (I am crowded in at 5/9 185 lbs), they could probably reduce seating by that much. Now that the kids are older and out of college, I am thinking of season tickets. In perspective, Buffalo fans are doing a good job of filling seats. Remember the PLAYOFF comeback game against the Oilers was a blackout! This is not a new "issue". p.s. I was tossed out of the Rockpile for pelting the Fish with snowballs when I was a teen.
  18. Annie Lennox - Medusa All cover songs: "No More 'I Love You's'" (Joseph Hughes / David Freeman, The Lover Speaks) "Take Me To The River" (Al Green) "A Whiter Shade of Pale" (words by Keith Reid, music by Gary Brooker / Matthew Fisher, Procol Harum) "Don't Let It Bring You Down" (Neil Young) "Train in Vain" (Michael Geoffrey Jones / John Mellor, The Clash) "I Can't Get Next to You" (Norman Jesse Whitfield / Barrett Strong, The Temptations) "Downtown Lights" (Paul Buchanan, The Blue Nile) "A Thin Line Between Love and Hate" (Richard Poindexter / Robert Poindexter / Jackie Members, The Persuaders) "Waiting in Vain" (Bob Marley) "Something So Right" (Paul Simon)
  19. I do not remember where I stumbled across the picture of vegemite, but I liked it. Vegetarian Spam - what a concept. Yes, I am an ex-pat of South Buffalo - Lackawanna. I used to have the original black and white Cerebus the Aardvark comics (your avatar). I have been a fan of graphic art (aka comic books) since I was very young. I still have one drawing that Dave Sim made for me. The Watchmen could be great if they do it right. "Who watches the Watchmen?" By the way, Frank Miller did GREAT work on Daredevil and Elektra, but you would not know it from those horrible movies. Moore's Batman: the Dark Night Returns is reported to be in preproduction for a 2008 release. Anyone who has preconceived notions of Batman will be very surprised by this version! NOT for little kids. Alan Moore recreated the Swamp Thing and a new genre of horror for DC Comics. Again - horrible movie adaptations. To prove my uttter geekiness, I also have original art of the Swamp Thing drawn to my design by John Totleben. His name is pronounced "tottle-bahn" but in German Tot-Leben is Death-Life. ...moving along now....
  20. For those who did not know, Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Casady were with the Jefferson Airplane before they became a Starship. Burgers was always my favorite album, and I loved it when Papa John Creach played fiddle with them. From Jormas online diary: Click Here-Jorma Kaukonen Wednesday, November 29, 2006 - November 29, 2006 0902 Burlington, Vermont "We had a wonderful sold out show at the Palace Theater in Syracuse last night. It's been a while since we played Syracuse so it was doubly nice. Good folks and a heck of a soup and sandwich at the adjoining cafe. Anyway, it was still strangely warm... After the show we headed out for Burlington. As soon as we started driving I hit the bunk. The next thing I knew it the bus wss rocking in a way inconsistent with the road. I climbed out into the forward lounge just in time to see a wave break over the bow and splash on the windshield. Wait a minute.. breaking wave? Oh yeah, we were on a tiny ferry on Lake Champlain... almost to Vermont. What a way to wake up. I think I'll go back to sleep... I'm in a hotel now. What a day!" asterisks mean 'acoustic' numbers.
  21. Geometry - Frontier Central - Mr. Baldelli. I heard he became a prick after they made him principal though. Accounting - RIT - Peter Ciacia - He had to be good to make accounting fun! My favorite teachers now are both my daughters - one home-schooled three kids and they are now top of the class in public schools. The other is Babyrock - elementary ed (5th grade) and Varsity cheerleading.
  22. I was ROTFL! He even admitted he had no idea why they had him there.
  23. I loved when Jimmy Kimmel asked "Hey Joe, how's the leg." edit: ooooh - deja vu!
