19,000 Titans vs Bills Tickets left
rockpile replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Right. Especially the 18 month and 4 year old. I really am happy for all of you who are going to the game, especially the out of towners who only get back to Buffalo once a season. Have fun! -

My daughter is coming in from CT. My other three children and 5 grandchildren will be at the house Sunday. I will be cooking sausage outside on the grill in my Bills jersey, listening to the game on the radio, and playing with the grandkids while "Papa" is still cool. "Christmas Eve and family gatherings will interfere." ...and that's the truth Family is first priority. -
EZC, this was the first game I remember when EVERYBODY was standing for the entire 2nd half. Sorry I missed you Sunday!

Thank God for the Bills...

No question - football. Reason? Only eight home Bills games a season. -
It's Bills-Titans week, so I'm back

Music City Miracle => Immaculate Deception Glad to have a visiting fan back to talk football, not smack. If we all liked the same team football would be boring. -

I still think this is too judgemental. There are a lot of people who would like to go, but cannot for whatever reasons - not my business. By the way (not directed at you, beau) you all do realize that since Ralph cannot fill a gazillion personal luxury boxes, he IS counting on as many fans as possible being AT THE GAMES. He has to share the gate but all concessions and parking are his alone. Since many want big $$ signed to keep current players and sign more from other teams, he does depend more on attendance than most other teams.

I live 80 miles away, no big deal. I usually need at least 12 hours to get there early, see my friends, have some food, drink some suds, wait for the traffic to thin, and then drive home. I do not like to rush. I go to two or three games a year and like you, have been a true fan for many years. For me, it is not the money as much as the TIME I cannot afford. True fans vs faux fans? Puh-leeeze! I am happy you have season tickets. You are out of line judging others by their GAME ATTENDANCE only.

Danny's and the Big Tree Inn are on the corner of Abbott and Big Tree Road (route 20A). Hammer's is on Abbott and he can give you directions to all the favorite fan locations too. He has a nice lot central to everything. He is a two minute walk from Danny's, and maybe 5 minutes from Lot One Pole 5, Pinto "Ron", and the Field House. Dress in layers of clothes and make sure to stay dry. You can take things off if you are hot, but if you left them in the car you are screwed. Go to buffalobills.com for stadium rules, too. Get there early and stay late! Enjoy.

Surprise Bills ticket office SCREWS up
rockpile replied to Hammered a Lot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That explains why the stadium took so long to fill up - especially the upper deck. -
Pre Season Predictions
rockpile replied to Navy Chief Navy Pride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On May 15, I printed out the schedule and picked the games. I had them finishing 6-10. I am delighted they have exceeded my expectations! -
Need more information: Are you coming with the wife or kid(s), or some buddies? Have you been to outdoor events in winter (in case it arrives)? I sat in row 27 of section 123 last week and the seats were sweet. I prefer the end zone opposite the score board when budget is an issue. In cooler weather I prefer club level or tunnel end zone. I HATE sitting under the Jumbotron. Lot One Pole 5 is where you can see many TBDers. It is also close to the Field House and Bills Store. Hammer is always a very gracious host too, and just a few minutes walk from there! See the maps under the Tailgate forum. After the game, stoke up your fire. Enjoy the evening. Listen to the post game show on the radio or walk up to Danny's for some food before you take off. Let the others sit in the parking lots -AKA expressways- leaving the Ralph.

The official ‘’I was never off the bandwagon…
rockpile replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was never off the bandwagon, but I picked them to win just six games. They have exceeded my expectations! I never walked around like this though... -
You are a better fan than me.

When blacked out, I wear headphones and listen to the game on the radio while doing those other things. Even when the game is televised, I often tape it and watch it later.

Hey does anoyone know.....if the game sold out???
rockpile replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As others said - over 71K through the gates yesterday. It may have taken close to half the game for the stadium to look FULL though. -
It is interesting at least to see how they feel about Buffalo. To take so may shots at us and then declare the rivalry dead? My favorite part: I'll finish for him... No playoffs for you!

The goal line stand at the end of the game
rockpile replied to Gary M's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks! Every game has a different "mood" to it. I only go to two or three games a year, and I still look for the light poles from the Ralph, coming down the 219, just like a little kid! -
The goal line stand at the end of the game
rockpile replied to Gary M's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I took maybe a dozen photos or so as I walked around Lot One with my son yesterday. I was thinking about the feeling of some that the rivalry was dead. So, I was trying to capture how it felt to BE there. I will try to post a link in the next day or so. There is an electricity in the air a touch higher when it is a Miami game. The air had a bite to it, the campfires were hotter, the food tasted better, the beer was air cooled, the friends were - as great as always - it was like a faily reunion! I finished my stroll at Kenny's Pinto (HI DAVE!). Me and the boy did bowling ball shots (relax he is 29 heh) and shot the breeze with Kenny and his wife for a bit. #89 brought a Dolphin flag for Ken to burn. Guys were standing along the guard rail, with stuffed fish on strings. They would toss them in the road, cars would run them over, they'd reel them in and do it again. (Traffic was 5mph or less). There was a triangular metal frame with at least a dozen real fish heads on each spike and a star on top like a Christmas tree. I did not see that until later so did not get a picture (damn). It was a warm day for December but a cold day for any visiting teams and fans. I did not get any game pictures since it was so damp. When it was not raining lightly, the humidity was still 99.9%, and I was not bringing my digital into the stadium without a dry padded case (stupid rule). I may be old school but I like the AFC East the way it is. I did not mind losing the Colts because they were not the Baltimore Colts. Just my thoughts. -

The goal line stand at the end of the game
rockpile replied to Gary M's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Buffalo played it like it was the Super Bowl. Even though the mass exodus started after the third TD, the remaining crowd was as loud as a full stadium. It PROVED to me that the rivalry is alive and well. Miami wanted that TD very badly - if they only wanted to avoid a shutout it was a pooch kick away.
