  1. No, it's being able to execute on a consistent basis. The Gailey Bills weren't able to do that.
  2. You need to look at him though the proper lens. He won Marrone's offseason team lifting competition. That's probably where all the fat came from.
  3. Keep looking dude. There is absolutely nothing in that article from Gailey complaining about other teams in preseason.
  4. I don't remember Gailey saying anything of the sort. Got a link?
  5. Dude, he said "Everybody has they way of approaching the preseason". Buh bye.
  6. He sure was unstable, thats for sure. I haven't seen that much foot movement since Bledsoe. Still, there was some value in signing him, esp in the vaccuum of Fitz having been released and the draft not yet upon us.
  7. Good point. Even when it hasn't been, it has been, if that makes sense. This staff seems highly committed to the run on any down/distance/deficit, regardless of success/lack thereof on the previous play. It's refreshing and it's the right thing to do given the Bills' strengths and the region they play in. Now, maybe some of this is playing possum like i alluded to in a different thread with the lack of deep balls but i like what i see with the willingness to run over and over. If it carries over to the reg season it's going to be a major boon long term.
  8. Yup, especially if next year's class proves to be what everyone claims it to be.
  9. I could not agree more - this is by design. Look for at least 3-4 deep balls in Q1 of game 1. IMO they are making a concerted effort not to show any deep stuff this PS. Hang on, there was value in signing Kolb even if he gets cut. It helped mask thier draft day intentions and provided competition for any rookie QB they drafted.
  10. I was very pleased by what I saw from the D in the first half. I get that the Vikings are a poor offense and that All Day was not on the field, but I have to believe they are going to at least be middle of the pack this year. It was exciting to see pressure, real pressure, instead of a QB siting in the pocket for 5+ seconds, calmly hitting his 4th option for 15+ yards. At least they were making the QBs react to them, instead of them reacting to the QBs. Well see what happens come reg season time, but tonight did not suck. Agreed, he looks way too chunky. Will be interesting to see how the staff handles him.
  11. Perhaps, I guess well never know. However, he was the GM at the time of the trade. If he's gonna get flack for poor moves made as GM, he should get credit for good moves made as GM.
  12. TY for the reply. Is your sense that Marrone will continue to lose his cool when faced with repetitive probing questions or do you feel that he will learn from this alleged hiccup and improve at dealing with the local media? Stop making sense!
  13. I was thinking 12-9, esp if Zero Cinders makes a contribution.
  14. For those keeping this thread going - WEO, GG, jw, Joe Miner, etc. What is the expectation for Marrone vis a vis the media going forward after this purported "dust up"? Do you think he, like many rookies, will learn from this? Or do you think what you saw is what you will get for the duration of his tenure as HC of the BB?
  15. I'll do my best. Well just have to agree to disagree on this one.
  16. Yep. You seem to think he has to answer questions from those who, as you state, didnt believe what he initially said at the 3:17 mark of his PC. Others don't. Whatever.
  17. What the fans want to know and what the team wants to share with them are two completely different things. Try not to confuse the two. Marrone was asked questions about Williams earlier in that same interview. He answered them. He even apologized to the press for not having more info.
  18. I dont have any bias for or against Sal. Why would you make such a silly statement? I'm just telling you how the article comes off. Nothing more, nothing less. I'll play along with the last part of your post - Marrone simply doesn't have to make a call to live up to a reporter's expectations. The presuption Sal makes, and that it seems many other here are making as well, is that if Marrone knows the question is coming he should be prepared to answer it. That just isn't the case.
