  1. I can certainly understand what your saying but even though it was a short sample (3 games) that didn't work - although mildly in the NE game. That's why I think a great route running possession receiver on the other side is really what I like best. I'm hoping Woods plays well because I think that role suites him nicely. As we all know - there's several ways to get your star WR free'd up, so this is just one way. Tyrod's running threat, a pass catching RB, your slot receiver and TE can all be used in different ways. Sammy should have a great year so long as that foot heals.
  2. I started the thread on Annen. I think he's got a real shot at making the club and being significant.
  3. I can't stand when someone else rights the apology for them.
  4. We agree. Sammy is talented enough to get his as he showed in the last 3/4 of the season. Obviously our cap didn't lend us to address what you'd like in a #2 and FA WR's are ridiculously priced anyway. What needs to happen now - since we likely don't have a play making #2 is that they take advantage of the 1 on 1 matchups with reading defenses properly, running a great route, and catching that ball. If that happens things will open up for Sammy. I think the most likely person to do that is Clay. He's got the talent to command attention and make the defense have to adjust where the safeties play.
  5. I don't really care what their rank is - I just want them to be miserable to play against. Stats are great and fun to talk about but I want timely stops and turnovers. Force 3rd and longs a lot and get off the field.
  6. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you too. I was just pointing out that Harvin and Watkins played in 3 games together and it wasn't successful except for the NE game. So they had one good game together in a loss. Harvin started out decent the first 3 games of the season but Sammy had 2 terribly ineffective games - remember everyone calling him out and saying Harvin is playing like our number one? While Harvin started out ok and Sammy very badly and that was their only time together - I remember it being a mess instead of wow it was great having 2 threats.
  7. Harvin wasn't used as leverage when he played with Watkins (3 games) - it was Watkins who either wasn't playing well or allowed Harvin to get open. That's not good.
  8. By "frequent" do you mean the 3 games they were both on the field?
  9. Actually no it wasn't. They didn't play well together at all.
  10. I understand and it's somewhat typical of WR's to have stat lines like that - but I wouldn't call it the Chiefs slowed Sammy down. How KC made adjustments after Sammy torched them - would be the better title.
  11. I agree. The offense was efficient and effective enough to win this game.
  12. Sammy had 6 catches for 158 yds and 2 td's. It was also one of Tyrod's best games, IMO
  13. There's no way I would ever have them back.
  14. I think he asked it - then answered himself.
  15. No kidding. He's got hall of fame credentials.
  16. I think you're correct he's intelligent and he knows this is a fallacy. He also knows the company he works for doesn't hold accuracy to account. They obviously encourage outrageous speculation to conjure up as much viewership as possible. Clayton unfortunately is a talented guy that has no choice but to dilute himself into this new culture.
  17. Brees is the difference - but roster for roster it isn't close.
  18. Great analysis. I learned a ton from this comment.
  19. From a fans standpoint it would probably be less especially when you consider the cost of the pre-season games being equal to a regular season. From a veteran football players perspective or a player most likely to make the team - I'm sure they would want to reduce them as well. Beyond conditioning and the ability to work on a small portion of the system that's all they benefit from it. From a young football players perspective or a player trying to make the team - I'm sure they would like them kept the same to give them every opportunity to impress. From a coaches standpoint - I'd imagine they would like to keep it the same because they are able to evaluate talent in these games unlike practice can provide.
  20. I don't think it's about wanting to change your opinion. It's about how wrong your opinion is.
  21. Oh I get it, you're sending subliminal messages.
  22. Haha, tough call. As some other posters have said - you can find a WR of Watkins ability anywhere in the draft. What does it even mean to "I won't support the trade"?
