  1. This is almost a "Fantasy" list as it seems to be driven by Stats. Sure Dareus has no sacks, but the impact he has made by being part of that DL is immeasurable. Now we need some pass rush.
  2. Hello Marv Levy. We didn't know you were running through this message board
  3. I am OK for them to not believe...After all, they will look at it as two games that could have gone either way leaving the Bills either 1-2 or 2-1 or 3-0. We made enough plays to make the wins count and are 3-0. The Jets and Patriots are still the class of this dviision for what they have achieved over the last so many years. Until we beat them comprehensively over the entire season, i am OK for them to assume that we will fail. If you look a little deeper, we do have difficulty in stopping the run and lack of any kind of pass rush. We would have lost the game to the Pats, if Belichek had sensibly called off the dogs after taking a 21-0 nothing lead. Instead, he and Brady tried to kick us down below and that blew on their face with those 4 INTs. I am glad we are 3-0 and on the right path to winning more games, but their are enough issues for others to doubt us.
  4. The problem is that whenever Dick tried, he lost... He went for the 4th and 1 at the 1 yard line to go up by 10 and did not make it. Brady drives 99 yards to win the game. He needed one play against the Broncos in the opener to ice the game. Losman throws deep and misfires to Lee Evans. The Broncos get the ball back, drive, kick the FG and win the game. He needed one play before the 2 minute warning to close out the game against Favre and the Jets....He calls for a simple "Throw to Full back and get the first down" and ice the game. Instead, JP panics and fumbles the ball, which is returned for a TD and the lead for the Jets. He needed one set of first downs to ice the 10 point lead against the patriots in the season opener two years ago and then they blow it by giving up 2 TDs in the last few minutes. What else is he supposed to do?
  5. Run Defense - We are still giving over 100 yards of rushing per game. Return Game - Haven't see any good returns in either Punt or Kickoff. Lack of Pass Rush - We have 2 sacks in 3 games...the lowest output from any team in the NFL. There is absolutely no pressure being generated on the QBs. Merriman, Arrington need to stand up. Where is the pressure from inside from Williams and Dareus.
  6. The more games they win, the contracts for Fitz, Stevie, Wood, Levitre, Bell keep going and then there is Fred Jackson, who may continue to get the short end of the stick as he still has 2 years in his contract.
  7. Wrong. Edwards was as big a leader on that team. In fact I remember how Edwards went around the entire stadium Hi5ying fans. That team rallied around in that first five games...But when it came to facing the 3-4 teams in the AFC East they choked.
  8. David Nelson is my favorite player on the Bills. A Winner!
  9. And that is going to hurt us...This defense needs to generate more pressure and sacks. Currently, they are playing a lot of containment.
  10. The players are definitely playing better hvaing been in the system for the past 19 games. I also think players like Parrish and Evans, due to their stature were hindering this offense. This offense is suited for players like Nelson and Stevie...
  11. you have got to play 60 minutes of complete Football to beat the Patriots ...Hence... It is not how you start the game, but how you finish the game.
  12. The NFL loves the Divas...and he is the closest the Bills have got.... I would love to see a team snapshot of the "Nobodys" Fitz, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Nelson, Chandler, Bell (All undrafted or 7th round picks).
  13. I am more worried about how Ben Jarvis Ellis has punished our defense in the last 4 games. Actually Brady has had pretty average games against the Bills in the last few seasons. Even two years ago, if you take away that 14 points in the last 2 minutes thanks to Donte Whitner and McKelvin, Brady was pretty pedestrian.
  14. @ the Airport on the way to the US on my laptop using nflgamepass
  15. Chung to miss game Also, Hayensworth missed practice for second day..
  16. Again, this is just a unique situation. Remember, Jackson was not even the starting RB at the beginning of last season. That belonged to Spiller. That was a decision taken by the HC and had nothing to do with Wilson or Overdorf. And then the team goes 0-8 before winning their first game. At the end of the year, if you see, Jackson had a pretty average season on a poor team. Jackson is not at fault for the mess created by the Bills coaching staff for letting Spiller start when he was not ready, having Lynch play ahead of Jackson so that they could trade Lynch etc. Bottom line is that Jackson did not have the same season as a Chris Johnson or Foster, heck, he did not even have a season like Ben Jarvis Ellis. It would have been a big surprise for the Bills to have gone and redone Jackson's contract at the end of last season. It is what it is. If Jackson has a good season this year (with 2 years remaining in his contract) he will be paid.
  17. Like Lee Evans!
  18. It is a tough situation for the Bills. These players have not won games for them in the last 10 seasons. Expecting the Bills to throw huge money at them without them proving themselves is foolish, especially considering from where these players originated. They turned the corner in 1st 4 games of the 2nd half of the year only to disappoint in the final 4 games of the season. There just has been no consistency. They are also yet to defeat any of your powerhouses, the only close thing being the OT loss to Steelers (Kansas City is not a powerhouse). It is 2-0 and now we are playing a top echelon team in the Patriots. If you win this game and continue to be consistent, the players will definitely be taken care. It is a very unique situation. After all, on the flip side if you think about this, the Bills have done a huge favor to this bunch of players by giving them an OPPORTUNITY to start in the NFL instead of being banished as 3rd stringers and ST players as normal 7th rounders are. Fitzpatrick - 7th round draft pick, played as 3rd stringer for St. Louis and Cincinnati. Jackson - Un-drafted, NFL Europe player Johnson - 7th round draft choice Bell - 7th round draft choice Once the team starts showing the consistency, I believe most of these players will be taken care. It is a two-way street. The Bills have to show some faith in them and not send out a low-ball offer. The players also have to understand the opportunity they received from the Bills and not go for the sky. If the two sides can meet in between in a "team-concept" environment, they are likely to be successful in their signing of contracts and keeping these players for the long term, which provides continuity and which in turn will lead to consistent success. This is what the best teams like the Steelers and Patriots do. In the last decade, Hines Ward has never been the highest paid WR in the league in spite of being Super Bowl MVP, Tom Brady in the 1st half of his career was never the highest paid QB in the league. I don't think Todd Light received anywhere close to even matching the pay of the top 5 LTs in the game and yet he has protected the blind side of Brady for his entire career. From the past history, the Bills have never low-balled anyone. Pat Williams was not offered a contract because Greg Williams was arrogant and did not want FAT players. London Fletcher left the Bills because Dick Jauron did not want him to play in his stupid cover-2 scheme and Marv drafted Poz for that position. The Bills offered 9-10M per year for Jason Peters who really had one good season and Peters wanted to be the highest paid LT in the league. That is a one way negotiation. The Bills hands were tied. They did not want to give him 12M a year, because they did not believe he was the leagues best LT and there were very few LTs that actually were making 9-10M a year. It almost felt that Peters wanted to get out of Buffalo. The Bills did not even get a chance to offer a contract to Poz, as his mind was really set in playing MLB in a 4-3 instead of the 3-4. Donte Whitner was given a shot at a fair offer that was turned down by Whitner. And as the market proved, there were no takers for Whitner. Whitner did not show the commitment to be a buffalo bill, so why should the Bills be tortured for that. The Bills have offered competitive money to their Punter and Kicker who have been their 2-best players in the last decade, showing once again that if you perform, you will be taken care.
  19. Stats line from last years two games against the Pats CAR YDS AVG TD Game 1: B Green-Ellis 16 98 6.1 1 TD Woodhead 3 42 14.0 1 TD Game 2: B. Green-Ellis 19 104 5.5 0 D. Woodhead 13 93 7.2 1 That is anything but MEDIOCRE! In Game 2, the Patriots had 12 Rushing first downs compared to 7 Passing first downs. The Bills will get punished, if they ignore stopping the run. Sure we gave away the ball 7 times in that game, but that is what the Pats have done to us.
  20. Brad Smith can play Roscoe's position....I am still mad at Brad for not throwing to two wide open receivers...That was 6 points...
  21. That is leadership.....You can never see a Poz or Kelsay ever doing that and getting the respect of the younger player...Barnett and Merriman are players we can definitely do with. Great game..I am glad it is over and we came out on the top. Now on to the Patriots...that offense is firing on all cylinders and the Lawyer Ben Jarvis Ellis has given fits to this Bills defense in the last 3 games going over 100 yards...The Bills need some breaks in this game. Is this the game where Brad Smith replaces Parrish and plays a more dominant role. BTW, Dave Nelson is the best clutch player this team has had since the days of Steve Tasker playing WR, even better than Josh Reed. Playing in a winning program with a winning QB makes a world of difference in his confidence and there seems to be a big chemistry between him and Fitz. Now is this OL up to the task of taking on Vince Wilfork, Haynesworth and Ellis. Belichek's defense has always confused us and never let us get in rhythm. Can this line block as well against the Pats.
  22. OK...Here..I will get it over with it....Ralph is Cheap! Looks like the Colts, Seahawks, Dolphins and the Vikings are in the thick of Andrew Luck Race.
  23. What was amazing was that they stopped the run in the second half (Pass defense was a complete joke as Campell was completing every single pass in the 2nd half). Not sure if the Bills made an adjustment or if the Raiders chose to not run the ball. Even after the Bills scored the TD on the opening drive of the 2nd half, the Raiders were still up by 11 and it would have been prudent to continue running the ball. There was absolutely no pass rush today. They feared McFadden so much that they let Campbell sit in the pocket and shred our secondary to pieces. The Bills are committed to stopping the run and have done a good job in the two games and have forced the QB to beat them. Today, our offense was better than theirs and hence the win. I have been saying this for a while. Nelson is a winner and knows how to win ball games. All he does on the field is make plays. He is our Hines Ward...Unassuming, but does his job. He is a clutch player and I think he is Fitz's go to guy on 3rd downs..Definitely has the football "IT".
  24. Martin was atrocious today....He dropped every ball thrown to him...We had quite a few drives stalled due to him.
