Both his interceptions were grossly under thrown. Otherwise, they may have been a TD... Also, wish McKelvin had gone for the INT rather than batting it down. He was in a good position to make that play. His confidence level must be pretty low.
-
I am glad to see them start too..but it is also distressful that they are starting because the original starters are injured...Both Moats, Sheppard and Troupe are likely start only because Kelsay, Merriman and Williams may not play. I would have rather have had them win their jobs in camp...Never late than ever.. Nix is still under the gun for these two drafts....Hope Gailey can make this work

Chan and Nix are not out of the woods yet...We need to show progress and make the playoffs. We fell like a house of cards three seasons ago. I will believe it when they actually make it to the playoffs. It has been a exciting ride, but I am keeping it tempered as we never know which Bills show up in November/December. -
Bills Scouts at Oregon-ASU and BYU-Oregon St.
ganesh replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our entire draft minus a OT and RB was all defense and yet you feel this defense needs help from the draft...The Bills will get to see what Troup, Carrington, Sheppard, Batten and Marcel can do for them as starters. Buddy's guys will be on the field. -
Wouldn't we have the same problem too (with the contracts)...We have to take care of Johnson, Jackson, Fitz, Bell this year and then Levitre, Wood, McKelvin, next year. I don't think the Bills will be able to pay him too which means you are renting him for one season for a 4th round pick...That is a tough decision for the Bills. I would rather have gone after trading for Mason (WR) or Aaron Curry (LB).
-
Fitz: It will be tough. Brady will be a shoo-in. That leaves Schaub, Fitz, Sanchez, Hasselbeck and Rothelisberger to fight for the 2 spots. Jackson; Has probably the best shot...Typically the best players @ the RB position make it. It will be tough for the OL guys....The "known" guys will always make it here...For Tackles, it will be Long and Thomas. For Guards/Center, they will always go with Mangold, Saturday etc. Wilson has it tough because again people vote for Polamalu, Ed Reed etc.

Peyton Manning just did that for the consistently last placed team a decade ago.
-
They would need to improve their pass rush if they have to turn it around. They were much better last week against the Eagles. Let us see if they can continue to improve. Merriman, Carrington and Moats need to show up.

Anyone else notice CJ Spiller...
ganesh replied to ColdBlueNorth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How do you know that he doesn't In his limited opportunities, Spiller has excelled. If this offense can continue to click, I see Spiller playing a big role come December/January, when the weather changes around. The only need guy from that list would have been Anthony Davis. Earl Thomas has been pretty good for the West Coast birds, but picking another Safety at 9 would have sent the fan base spiraling down. Pouncey would have been nice, but we already had Levitre and Wood. We needed a LT or DE and there really was no blue chip player @ that point. -
Wood and Levitre were awesome. This was probably the best game for Wood in his Bills career. Barnett is everything that we were looking for in Poz, that never happened. Kyle Williams/Marcellus Dareus may not have numbers against them on the stats sheet, but they were a beast. They were constantly in Vicks face. What I did not like: 1. Brad Smith bringing that ball back from the endzone in the 4th Quarter. For 3 quarters, you were happy with the touchbacks, why suddenly decided to make a play when it was not there. We could have been in trouble if not for Jackson and Roosevelt bailing us out there. 2. Merriman is continuing to be MIA 3. The offense became too predictable in the 2nd half (Just like against the Bengals). It was almost run-run-pass-punt with no variations. Also, why haven't the Bills used any reverses using Spiller or Brad Smith....A double reverse with both guys on the field would have been awesome. or a flea flicker would have been even better...If you have these gadget players, please use them effectively.
-
That is because our offense did a poor job (today and last week) of not converting those turnovers into points. It really came back to almost bite us.
-
Granted...We did win decisively in week 1. I am happy that the Bills have beaten 3 teams that were playoff bound last year. Jauron's teams could never win against winning programs. Now they need to take care of business in the AFC East. What is more: The Eagles are 1-4 after this debacle and may miss the playoffs especially considering that the Giants, Redskins and Cowboys are playing very good football.

Game ball on offense should go to Eric Wood. He was a monster today. On Defense both Wilson and Barnett had monster game. Poz was never a ball hawk, Barnett is.
-
I am concerned too...at least they made plays at the end of the game. The offense stunk up the joint in the 2nd half and was completely out of rhythm. I guess the eagles made their half-time adjustments and neutralized Jackson and gailey was not prepared to air it out and almost cost the game. Nelson and Chandler disappeared the 2nd half.

If We Win Two More Games in a Row...
ganesh replied to BringBackFlutie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It would also mark a long time since we had a 5-game win streak. -
Lot of credit goes to our underrated WR corps including the TE, With the quick passes in the spread offense and fitz learning to be accurate opponents have not had time to get to the QB. The main credit goes to chan for utilizing the available talent and scheming around it. We don't need a evans to stretch the field because players like Nelson and Johnson r able to catch the ball consistently and move the chains The line has been asked to do simple things and they are doing well

From ESPN's AFC East Blog: Buffalo kicker Rian Lindell was awarded the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his game-winning kick against the New England Patriots. Lindell was 2-for-2 on field goals and made all four extra points. The Bills also promoted cornerback Terrence Wheatley to the 53-man roster and released backup tight end David Martin.

espn ranks top 10 rookies this year so far
ganesh replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is almost a "Fantasy" list as it seems to be driven by Stats. Sure Dareus has no sacks, but the impact he has made by being part of that DL is immeasurable. Now we need some pass rush. -
A difference between Chan and Dick
ganesh replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hello Marv Levy. We didn't know you were running through this message board -
I am OK for them to not believe...After all, they will look at it as two games that could have gone either way leaving the Bills either 1-2 or 2-1 or 3-0. We made enough plays to make the wins count and are 3-0. The Jets and Patriots are still the class of this dviision for what they have achieved over the last so many years. Until we beat them comprehensively over the entire season, i am OK for them to assume that we will fail. If you look a little deeper, we do have difficulty in stopping the run and lack of any kind of pass rush. We would have lost the game to the Pats, if Belichek had sensibly called off the dogs after taking a 21-0 nothing lead. Instead, he and Brady tried to kick us down below and that blew on their face with those 4 INTs. I am glad we are 3-0 and on the right path to winning more games, but their are enough issues for others to doubt us.

A difference between Chan and Dick
ganesh replied to Wagon Circler's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem is that whenever Dick tried, he lost... He went for the 4th and 1 at the 1 yard line to go up by 10 and did not make it. Brady drives 99 yards to win the game. He needed one play against the Broncos in the opener to ice the game. Losman throws deep and misfires to Lee Evans. The Broncos get the ball back, drive, kick the FG and win the game. He needed one play before the 2 minute warning to close out the game against Favre and the Jets....He calls for a simple "Throw to Full back and get the first down" and ice the game. Instead, JP panics and fumbles the ball, which is returned for a TD and the lead for the Jets. He needed one set of first downs to ice the 10 point lead against the patriots in the season opener two years ago and then they blow it by giving up 2 TDs in the last few minutes. What else is he supposed to do? -
The Top Ten Concerns Bills success could bring
ganesh replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Run Defense - We are still giving over 100 yards of rushing per game. Return Game - Haven't see any good returns in either Punt or Kickoff. Lack of Pass Rush - We have 2 sacks in 3 games...the lowest output from any team in the NFL. There is absolutely no pressure being generated on the QBs. Merriman, Arrington need to stand up. Where is the pressure from inside from Williams and Dareus. -

The Top Ten Concerns Bills success could bring
ganesh replied to Dr. Trooth's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The more games they win, the contracts for Fitz, Stevie, Wood, Levitre, Bell keep going and then there is Fred Jackson, who may continue to get the short end of the stick as he still has 2 years in his contract.
