  1. Really? You expect Mike to be a OC to a rookie HC
  2. And so did Green Bay. They were closer to getting Lynch, but didn't want to give more than a sixth (I believe)
  3. If they are going the FA QB route, the QB position will suck up a significant amount of dollars whether it is Cutler or Bradford.
  4. But that was only because we had pretty significant pressure from the front 4.
  5. +1. I think it was more of Whaley having an option to find an even better HC than about bad mouthing Marrone. The guy (Marrone) after all produced the first winning season for the BIlls in almost 10 seasons. That is a pretty big achievement for these underachievers.
  6. Rex's defense is predicated on disguised blitzes. In order to run that scheme effectively, they need a extremely talented secondar. Rex was successful when Revis played along with Cromartie. Do the Bills have equivalent backfield to execute his schemes successfully. Gilmore and Leodis are OK cornerbacks, nothing remotely close to Revis and Cromartie. Pettine had a good defense here because he had Byrd in Center Field and Kiko at the MLB position. In spite of that it was the 28th worst running game. Schwartz fixed the run-stopping and played some solid defense. How can Rex coach this team to its strength. I almost feel he might try to fit a square peg into a round hole.
  7. and that there are 3 good teams in the AFC North. If the Bills go the WC route, they have to compete with KC, SD, CIN, PIT and BAL
  8. We don't need another big FA WR. We have invested 2 1st Rd and a 2nd Rd pick at that position. You have let those two players develop. What we need a big time TE. Chandler is good in the middle of the field, but has no separation in the end zone.
  9. That would be Dick LeBeaus. Schwartz will go to DC as the DC
  10. It was the curse of Stevie Johnson !!!
  11. In spite of what Pettine did, his bills defense was still ranked 28th in the league against the Run. Schwartz came in and fixed that. Don't underestimate his influence on this defense.
  12. The Pats lose OC every year to go on to be HCs. So many on that pipeline, Weiss, Mangini, Crennel etc
  13. When there is only 32 such opening, every NFL HC job is an attractive gig!!!!
  14. Not to rewrite history; When the Bills were hiring their HC two seasons ago, Marrone was considered a front-runner along with Chip Kelly. The Bills were challenged to make a big-time hire and they did that with Marrone. Obviously, the HC candidates like Marrone had the leverage with the bills urgency to hire a big-time coach. I am sure that 4M was the poison pill added to that contract to ensure that a "name" coach was hired. The Bills did just that. I don't think Brandon would have normally done it, but that was going to be his first HC hire.
  15. I think Rex has been a better head coach than Schwartz was in Detroit. Rex did take two of his teams to the AFC Championship game.
  16. Every teams feel that way when their team misses the playoffs. Garbage for one is a treasure for others.
  17. I believe Wilson did not favor MNF as the Bills have a lot more regional fans than other teams.
  18. I think there was definitely a problem with how our OL shaped up this season. Our tackles regressed, Center was average and guards were horrible. Was this due to scheme ? The rookies never got a chance other than RT. I would like to have our new staff evaluate them before going OL heavy in the draft. I would like them to get a super good TE with that 2nd round pick.
  19. I find it hard to believe you wrote that. Rex Ryan took the Jets to two back-to-back AFC Championship game with a very young QB. I don't think all the problems in NY falls on Rex's shoulder (He take a good chunk of blame). But he was put in a lousy position to succeed especially the last two years where he was effectively a lame duck coach. I agree the D disappeared against SD and NE. Against the Raiders, the D held them pretty good; You can't blame it on the coach when the Secondary allows a 50 yard completion on a 3rd and 22. Against Denver, the offense just stunk. The defense kept Manning TD-less, though they did give up 3 short-yard TDs to Anderson. But that is simply how CJ plays and due to the OL in Denver. Does Rex hiring mean that the Bills will deny permission to the Giants for interviewing Peppers
  20. EJ also had never had as good games as Geno had. Geno threw for 300+ yards multiple times. Both are QBs that require a lot of work.
  21. Isn't this how everything works. I am sure I would wait and get a job in Google. But if that offer doesn't come, I am not sitting and staying unemployed.
  22. Because Geno Smith sucked in both those games. He three for 3picks in the first 10 minutes.
  23. The problem with these answers is that there is nothing concrete. Which FA QA do you think will take this team to the playoffs.
  24. Son of Bum P. Or that NFL teams don't want these bums anymore
  25. That is a clutch throw by Luck. I wish we had one such QB.
