  1. +1. Unless the Bills had a strong urge to Maholmes at that pick, they were wise to trade down. They have plenty of ammunition next year if they need to go up and get that QB at the top-3. But I am sensing that the Journey of the 2017 Buffalo Bills is going to be a cautiously optimistic situation
  2. Hogan had a great game in the AFC Championship game that gained him a lot of National Respect. The same goes for Gillislee...He had 3 TDs in front of the national audience. Nobody said Gilli is their starting RB...They were good players who are playing well in that system. I am sure Gilmore will have a monster year too. The Pats are that good...But for me it is the Journey of the 2017 Buffalo Bills that will interest me.
  3. I would rather focus on what our team will do on this Sunday. We take care of business on our side, we will be there at the end of the road. Let us cherish the Journey called the 2017 Season of the Buffalo Bills !!!
  4. Another reason why they didn't retain Gilleslee as the primary backup.
  5. Tyrod is a starting caliber (albeit a slightly above-average one) QB and those don't hang on trees to grab it. Sean knows it and was smart to keep Tyrod as his starting QB barring injury. Could they have stayed at their original draft position and picked Patrick Maholmes; that could have been a big possibility but may be their scouting (Whaley's) did not give enough confidence. Who knows.
  6. Best was Putting Brady's ass on the turf on a 31-0 rout. Worst was McKelvin fumbling the ball on the Kick Return and allowing Brady to come back.
  7. The game will die its natural death when it is stripped off its super stars. People will stop watching when the game becomes sub-standard. It could still take 50 years
  8. +1. If ST can improve and give the offense better field position it would definitely help.
  9. Agree. At the same time the whole thing about "bringing cultural change" is a load of crap. NFL players and coaches work their ass off during both regular season and off season. The gaps between good and bad is pretty thin in the NFL. It is really sad when people say Rex ran a country club. That could be further than the truth. The truth is that Beane and McDermott want a different style or approach to bulding a team and want to mold the team to their approaches. Time will tell if the will have success like a Levy or go the same way as Greg Williams or Doug Marronne, who kept emphasizing on this "cultural change". Teams under Marv Levy or Bill Bellichek are winning because they have the talent aligned for their scheme.
  10. Disagree....10+M for a guy giving 5-6 TDs is very poor value.
  11. I am assuming that the three of them agreed that a trade of Sammy would be a good idea...Then Beane goes off and finds a partner for the trades, put all the parameters in place and then calls up his HC and Owner to tell them that he has a trade ready to go. I think this is perfectly in line with the power structure
  12. But what everyone is forgetting is that the cost of picking that option was quite high...about $13M....Now the management team has to decide if that was worth the ROI. It wasn't!
  13. I hope they don't give away those six picks to get one player!
  14. +1. Every season is a new start with a lot of hope and expectations. Go Bills!
  15. I am sure for every Shady, Hughes trade, there is an equivalent trade where the player has gone on to be a bust for the new team.
  16. Shady is our proven best player on the team. He is not going anywhere.
  17. And that is ok (I think) This offense did reasonably well in spite of injuries to so many players last season. What let us down last year was the melting of the Defense. We have lost the entire secondary from that defense and replaced a 3-4 with a 4-3 that is more natural for Hughes and Lawson. If Preston brown can play like he did 3 seasons ago, this defense could help this offense. Boldin probably already knows the system having played in this system at Baltimore
  18. Because that is the nature of the Small Market Team The only way they can entice someone to play for you is a) Promising a Starting Job to a backup B) Paying the highest salary at a position to a player who is not a top-3 Unless the small market team can hit it with their own draft picks they will always struggle. Small market teams have been good when their drafts worked out, our own beloved Bills included.
  19. Whaley made trades that gave away draft picks. Beane is making trades that is collecting draft picks. Two different approaches...wouldn't you agree? I think the front-office looks at the difference in production between Mathews vs Watkins and Darby vs Giles and have determined that the difference is not that big but getting those draft picks is a lot more important and pulled the trigger. They could soon unload Eric Wood, Cordy Glenn and Hughes if they don't produce this season. I simply don't see Eric Wood getting his final contract with the Buffalo Bills.
  20. Tyrod is the starting QB and we are into the 3rd week of training camp. I don't see how he could be traded. Unless the Bills think Yates can run the offense for the year, I don't see it.
  21. Yeah...49ers could finish in top 3 and still get their QB from the nation's capital.
  22. When positions are open on the team and fringe players want to make the roster, they are going to give all out to make a play spectacular that will help them get a roster spot. And when they don't make the play and get caught, they will also have a 1-way ticket out of the locker room.
  23. THe Watkins one is hurting only because what we paid initially to get him. The problem with Watkins is that for a guy coming in as a #4 overall, he has done very little for this team. At the end performance and results speaks for themselves with this regime. I hope they will be able to hold everyone equally as responsible as they held Watkins and Darby. This goes for Dareus, Wood, Glenn, and Hughes. I think Kevin will have a big role on this team
