  1. I believe that's wishful thinking from a fan. A 5yr contract with $12M-$15M guaranteed? There's a team out there willing to give him more than that. I think the guaranteed money ($11M) is spot on, but there's little chance he will sign a 2yr deal (it's amazing Avril did). Project Avril's guaranteed cash over 5 yrs and you get $27.5M, and that sounds just about right.
  2. I think a good guide would be to use Tamba Hali's contract, which was 5yr $57M with $35M guaranteed. I think Hughes will be similar with less guaranteed (doesn't have as long a track record) say $25M.
  3. Quiz time! Question: Brian Schottenheimer has been an OC for the past 9 years. He has never fielded a top-10 offense, and in 7 of those 9 years his offense was never ranked higher than 20th. Why is he still coaching in the NFL? Answer:
  4. Enroth with 42 saves in the win vs. some scrub backup goalie that was horrendous. Edmonton is going to be tough to catch -- 1 win in their last 10 games.
  5. Is it your goal to make every single thread on this forum about EJ Manuel?
  6. The JFF effect
  7. I didn't believe this could possibly be true so I looked it up. Gruden's contract worth over $20 million guaranteed That's unconscionable.
  8. Pretty good crowd vibe, not what I would call a rowdy sports bar, but the crowd got more engaged than I imagined. Incredible TVs and decor. Didn't get any entrees, but we ordered finger-foods like stuffed banana peppers and poutine (!) and they were excellent. Was $4.50 for most bottled beer and I think $4.00 for a 16oz draft. Right now parking in the ramp is free, which is really nice because you can quickly enter the bar from the 2nd level of the ramp -- but you may want to call about that because the bartender told me they are going to start charging for parking "sometime soon."
  9. They asked Anthony Bourdain, the globe-trotting chef that samples bizarre foods from all over the world, what was the most disgusting thing he has ever eaten. He answered, "Chicken McNuggets"
  10. New Bills owners’ passionate vision of One Buffalo
  11. I don't think any future HOF QB's can be coached into timidity, but a journeyman like Orton could be. EJ has certainly regressed and looks pretty timid to me. Orton immediately clutches the ball with both hands the second anyone breathes on him now. He wasn't like that in his first few appearances (he did try to make a play in the face of pressure and fumbled earlier in the season). The mantra seems to be "don't take any chances that could turn the ball over, we got a great defense so let's punt." It works well against teams that can't score like the Jets and Browns, not so much against Superbowl contenders.
  12. Remember this article and all TSW rage? WR Mike Williams: When Williams arrived via trade in April, my first reaction was that he could be a top target in the Bills' offense. I'm less convinced now. Williams didn't stand out in OTAs and seeing him in action, there isn't a particular skill that he brings to the table that is different from the rest of the receiver group. If Watkins and Robert Woods become fixtures on the outside and Chris Hogan can continue to contribute in the slot, Williams starts to slide down the depth chart. The Bills will keep Marquise Goodwin and Marcus Easley on their final roster, so Williams will have to fight Hogan and T.J. Graham for the final spot. He could change my opinion in minicamp or early in training camp, but for right now I wouldn't call his spot on the team a sure bet. Hey give the man his props. Eerily prescient.
  13. Maybe, but I have seen competent evaluation of linemen when Joe D was here. The OL has been a terrible game of musical chairs since Marrone and Pat Morris walked through the door.
  14. It took 7 pages but someone finally addressed the true issue here. It's 3rd and about a foot, and you call a designed roll-out (with perhaps the slowest QB in the league) 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage? Seriously? That wasn't a goalline defense -- it was a 5-man front. Orton needs to check out of that ridiculous call and either sneak or give the ball to Fred.
  15. Nice breakdown. Wood has looked shaky on the A22 all season. The interior of our OL should be declared a disaster area and apply to FEMA. Where have you gone, Joe D'Alessandris? Our fanbase turns its lonely eyes to you.
  16. Their sausage/egg McMuffins used to pull me in -- until I had one from Tim Horton's.
  17. Oh, we did try him out. He caught 8 balls for 142 yds (80 of which came on a busted coverage). You probably just blinked and missed it.
  18. Someone tell this idiot that he can shave now.
  19. We're forecast to get 3 inches on Wed and another 2" on Thurs, where are you hearing 2 feet??
  20. There's no way he makes the first down, Johnson was about to destroy him. He needs to throw that ball away.
  21. Sports Club Stats has us down to a 4.5% chance at making the playoffs.
  22. The game went pretty much exactly as expected. Defense played better than I thought they would by holding them to 3 TDs. Wasn't as close as the final score indicated, if we played that team 10 times we would maybe win once.
  23. Seriously. I know it's fashionable to kick Marrone around but give me a break. Marrone is in full control of who gets hired as his coordinators. The ink didn't dry on his contract yet and he hopped on a plane to NY to get Pettine. It was a great hire and he made another great hire with Schwartz. He's the CEO of the sidelines, this isn't Dallas. Mike Pettine reportedly hired by Buffalo Bills Marrone congratulates Pettine, has plan for replacement
  24. We hashed this out in the last Mike Williams thread (there's a few of them). Every source had the $5.2M 2015 salary as guaranteed except overthecap.com.
