  1. Completely agree. We are in a terrible spot at 10 to find another team to trade down with. Houston is my team to target. If lets them jump Cleveland at 12 and they can pick any QB they want as none should be off the board yet. If Jets, 49ers or Bears go QB then Howard may still be there at 10 and most assuredly one of the two WRs will be there assuming the Bills can not find a trade partner. Please feel free to post your QB analysis for the last ten years and your Brady draft grade. Though I agree they should take a QB early this year and I would be happy with Mahomes in the 20's or Kizer in the second round. Kizer looks like a bigger version of Russell Wilson. Not the arm or size of Cam Newton but I think he is a player that is young and can sit behind TT this year. By all reports he is intelligent. Don't think I ever heard that said about Cardale.
  2. He has Williams to Titans, Howard to Jets, and McCaffery to Panthers, letting Adams fall to Bills at 10. I love Howard at 10 but Adams would be our Earl Thomas. He is everything they need on defense. I still think he is a top 5 pick but I can see how this mock makes sense.
  3. Well I remember Bledsoe and the Bills playing the Vikings, so I suspect they also played the Packers. Bledsoe and Price were insane and it looked like the offense would carry them to the playoffs. And then the second half of the season occurred...
  4. You are very angry because the best talent is off the board. There is no QB worth a first round pick. That said I think two QBs will be taken and Watson probably lasts until the third round. As to the OP question, if Howard is there I would take him. If not I try to trade back anywhere from 3 to 15 spots. The further they go back the more I want them to pick up a second and a first next year. Maybe the Texans at 25 would be a good trade option. With any QB to choose from in this scenario, we give our #10 for their 25th, 57th, and first next year.
  5. McCoy for a 2nd and a 5th would be very good value for Buffalo but no other team would make that move. If there was a team that offered that, I would make the deal. Then sign AP to go with TD Mike. Then trade significantly down in the first round picking up a second this year and a first next year, take Mahomes in the early twenties, and draft WR with one of the seconds, and defense the rest of the way.
  6. Says who? Dalton has peaked and is on the downside already. Take away AJ Green and he is a terribly flawed QB. Give TT a healthy Watkins and 31 of 32 GM take TT over Dalton any day.
  7. Luck at 6? Based on what? Ahead of Roethlisberger, Rivers, and Netwon? You can't say longevity and future performance with Brady and Brees at 2 and 3. Newton at 16? I would take him over every other QB except Brady and Rodgers if you are talking about only next year. I would take him over all of them if you are talking for the next 5-10 years.
  8. No Rex. They have a very good chance at making the playoffs.
  9. Nice post but what is painful about this off-season? They got rid of Rex and his fat brother. The defense will be so much better.
  10. Patriot Way - cheats, murderer, and a child abuser. Nice legacy Bill
  11. It is looking like no QB will go in the top 10. Which sucks in that the best talent will be off the board. Best hope is to trade down and take a QB late in the first and then go WR and defense the rest of the way. If no trade down options then take Howard, Davis, or Williams at 10 and hope Mahomes falls to them in the second. My guess is either way the back-up QB will be drafted in the first or second round. Of course the best scenario is I am totally wrong about Cardale and he makes a huge leap and pushes TT for the starting job. I think it is more likely he doesn't even make the team than he beats out TT to start.
  12. Just give one example of any player let go or not signed due to salary cap restrictions? It hasn't happened. They paid Fitz like he was a franchise QB. They paid Mario Williams a pass rusher elite money. They have a LT earning top dollar. Their WR #1 is on a rookie deal. Outside of running back and paying a gunner (Easely) more than the minimum I'm not sure there is one even questionable decision/contract. As for Dareus, if he hit FA 30 other teams would have gladly paid him the same or more. Again these decisions in no way impacted their ability to sign, release, or let walk any player. Want to complain about wasted resources and cap mismanagement. Don't trade away draft picks. Don't move up in the draft. Move down and acquire more picks. That is how you stay young and under the cap. Add cheap talent through the draft and pick and choose what players to keep.
  13. See if this is an interesting take. Let's assume the Bills are playing in a brand new downtown stadium. The Pegulas don't want the media attention of removing OJ's name from RWS/New Era. But when the new wall of fame goes up, just leave him off the new wall. No issue of inviting him to the game for the fans to cheer or boo. And don't tell me the wall is all inclusive. Cookie should have been on the wall with Kemp. Cookie was as talented and as important as any player but Kelly, Reed, Smith, and Thurman.
  14. Adams is a top 5 pick and will not be there at 10
  15. Winfield, Pat Williams, and Jason Peters are among the best players the Bills ever let walk out the door. I thought Clements was a good player who signed a ridiculous contract with the 49ers. Same for Levitre. Gilmore is going to be an interesting story. He doesn't seem like the type of player that can mentally deal with Belichick. Gilmore just is never intense - off or on the field. But Belichick i'm sure knows this so it will be very interesting to see how it plays out. Gilmore is probably the most technically skilled of the three DB's mentioned but as others stated Winfield was the best football player.
  16. I was worried when LA had no team. I don't think their is another city except St. Louis that would be willing to put up a significant amount of money for a stadium and the Bills. Here in Portland they will try to get hockey before the NFL. Paul Allen owns the Blazers and Seahawks so he is not going to let another team into the Pacific NW. The problem will be can Buffalo afford a new stadium. It can't be done with local money. The only way is if the state kicks in a big sum of money.
  17. Adams and Hooker will be gone. No QB has a first round grade. Hopefully some player of value drops to 10 and they can trade back. My hunch is trade back, take Trubisky or Mahomes late in the first round. Then draft defense the rest of the way. If you could guarantee Sammy is healthy for 16 games, I don't think they need to add another WR. I would add Howard instead. Hell even 14 games is probably enough. But they need to add another young WR to hedge against another lost season.
  18. My worry is he played almost exclusively hand on the ground nickel four down lineman DE last year. So it is hard for me to just agree switching from OLB to DE will make that much difference. He looked terribly slow off the ball last year. I do not recall a single play he made where he showed any spectacular athleticism. However Rex messed everything up and Mario was proven correct. Hopefully Shaq will be able to play faster and attack. So far he is much closer to Erik Flowers than he is Schobel or even Phil Hansen. I hope so. I think Whaley and McDermott think so too. That is why there is no rush to bring back Z. Brown. And if they think P. Brown and Ragland are legit, then it is WR, DB, S, QB, TE in the draft
  19. Going to have to disagree. I would rather someone start a new thread than read through 26 pages of IN, heard of him, getrdone, Ralph is Cheap. You have to go an entire page thread to find a reasonable post even if it is one I disagree with. Would rather start over and hope someone puts a worthwhile comment or perspective to read.
  20. Great idea. I love it. Everything should be open for a challenge. Just limit the challenges. It was in the past. They changed the rule and specifically allowed the spike instead of forcing the QB to throw it OOB. Changed in the late 80's I believe.
  21. The formula is a NFL secret so not sure I believe Hunter and Manuel dont cpunt. Also not sure the dead Ine is May 9th. I've read they count right up until training camp. Also what if EJ plays 5 games next year because Carr has a set back. I still think it is too early to tell. People should care but it is not the end of the world if they dont get an extra pick. I want to win now not worry about 2018 draft.
  22. Want : trade down Dont: any QB at 10 Dark: Trade up for Adams Think: Foster if the don't sign Zach
  23. Let's say I agree he was 10. How much of a drop off did you see with Kujo at LT? Not much. Therefore you could have a top 10 and let's say a top 15 or at worst top 20 player at both tackle spots. Isn't that better than top 10 LT and possibly worst RT? Again maybe Groy is better, maybe Mills gets better. But if CK comes back healthy he and Glenn at LT and RT respectively is the best combination to start.
  24. I love all the absolutes in this thread, as if anyone has any idea what is going to happen. LT is not that much more important than the other positions. It is rare a QB takes a 7 step drop anymore. In fact with a QB under 6 feet tall the center and guards are equally important in pass protection. Mills was terrible in pass protection and most teams will adjust their front 7 to attack the weak link. That said Mills was a very good run blocker and who knows maybe he gets better at pass blocking. Did anyone see any drop off in play at LT or C when Glenn and Wood were out? We are not even talking about a Pro-Bowl player being moved to put the best five on the field. If Groy, Henderson, or Kujo are better than Mills at RT or if Mills looks better at pass blocking then everyone will be happy to leave Glenn where he is. If the best 5 is a healthy and productive Kujo at LT and Glenn at RT I'm all for it. As for the Glenn won't be happy about it crowd. How does that make any sense? If he excels at RT and makes a ProBowl and it is known he can play LT well then he will get paid. If he sulks and pisses and moans about it, how does that benefit him? Plus if he bitches about it the Jason Peters haters will have a new guy to hate. See there is something for everyone.... What FA RT is out there any better than a 16 game starter or Groy? The Bills don't have a 4th round pick. By the time the 5th rounders come up, they will essentially be 6th round quality with all the comp picks. I think it very unlikely they use a 2nd or 3rd on a RT given the holes they have to fill. Assuming Glenn stays at LT and Mills does not improve, RT will be addressed in the 2018. Even a trade down for more picks probably will not yield a RT, as they need multiple DBs, a WR, a QB project, and a LB or two.
  25. I wouldn't hate the move, but a healthy Sammy and a bunch of healthy #3's is enough in this league. CB is the bigger need but I also agree they could go WR, DB, DB in first three rounds and find three starters.
