  1. I have noticed that the Bills are in a lot of conversation on NFL network due to what we here and the media may see as really good offseason football moves, mixed with some very good talent and approachable athletes that have been performing well on and off the field in recent years. Such as Stevie Johnson, Fred Jackson, Nick Barnett and of course the new acquisitions. Several years ago, and I was one of them, it seemed like these football shows and networks wouldn't pay attention to our beloved team even if they were winning games, and had a few superstars on the roster, but I have to admit, it appears that while nobody is proclaiming us Superbowl winners just yet, the team is getting a lot of well deserved attention, and I think that should put to rest to some extent the sentiment that this team and city is generally hated or ignored by the rest of the country. Now I'm not saying the city's run down, abandoned image has been miraculously restored to it's former glory, I think from a football perspective, the Bills will get as much attention and respect as they earn. Who the hell did we even have that you would even want to put on your fantasy team prior to Fred Jackson? The team has been gut wrenchingly dreadful for years, and who would even want to report on a team that was hard to even look at with those Arena League uniforms. So Maybe....Juuuust Maybe... if the team plays well, they'll be more respected by the rest of the league, and the media that pays attention to this sport. I know there will be people who say they don't care what anyone else thinks, but in reality we do, I do, because we're from Buffalo, the perennial underdog, the once glorious city on the rise, and we all want the respect the team we love deserves. I do have to say if anyone saw Fred-Ex's new Camaro, named "The Red Hulk" it was bad ass, and the segment was cool to watch, especially the clips of him tearing up opponents on the field last year. Loved it! If they win, they'll get respect from the people that matter.
  2. While a lot of us around here are excited for the upcoming season, I'm sure we all have a little hesitation, given the good starts the team has enjoyed in recent years with a complete unravel for each, and I also feel like the Sabres awful season has something to do with the tempered excitement sentiment from Tim as well. As far as the Fitzpatrick comments, I tend to agree with him slightly, since we have been down this road with JP and Trent having Turk Shonert.... But this is a new season, different players involved, and I'm taking a we'll see approach on that too. And as far as TJ Graham goes, we haven't had the best of luck with our WR draft picks, he(Tim) was not entirely wrong with his assessment on the drops, and I think that the team may already have more game ready talent on the roster, so TJ will have time to develop, and may not even be a factor this season. I'd be happy to see TJ flourish, but I am also a fan of Donald Jones and the rest of the goon squad if they can stay healthy, plus I also have that desire to see Easley make a splash, I just have a good feeling about the guy, like a lot of TSW members did about Stevie when we were all waiting for Hardy to not be a bust. I can see the OP's point a little, but I probably would have had similar comments in an interview too.
  3. what the hell does this have to do with anything? I was born and raised in Buffalo, went to school there, college there, attended my family's weddings and funerals there, and STILL have family ties there. I am very proud to be from Buffalo, and just because I had to take a job somewhere else because the State's political climate ran all the JOBS out of town doesn't mean I can't be offended by a douche bag like Josh Reed trying to make a public stink so he can be relevant....
  4. I think at the very least he is one to watch this year beyond the new additions, and has the potential to have a pro bowl season. Who's to argue though that he shouldn't be considered a top 5 safety in the league if his solid play continues this year? If an over exposed clown like Whitner can be considered good for the 49ers, just think what Byrd can do now that he has a pass rush to assist him.
  5. I wouldn't mind seeing the league add a new franchise in LA, I hate to see any team move anywhere, it makes the league and it's owners look greedy, and the profits are already ridiculous. On a side note, if any teams should move to LA, it makes perfect sense to see the LA Raiders, and the LA Chargers. Both teams could have a following in that city. Any other franchise move just really doesn't look good on paper. And as for the Bills, we will find out soon enough, and if they do move, even to Toronto, I won't be one that follows them as a fan. If they don't play in my home town, I could care less.
  6. what do other cities have that downtown Buffalo doesn't that these players are looking for? Flying monkey circus shows? Hover craft races? Three titted Hooter bars? It's such a load of BULL it's laughable. Josh Reed is just Butt-hurt because he sucked Balls as an NFL player, got cut by the Bills, and became invisible, so now he is spewing his brainless rhetoric to try and stay relevant. Just another departed douche, and now that the Bills look to be a team on the rise, and he was one of the dead-wood cuts that have gotten us on the right track, he comes out with his whiny sissified comments and cheap-shots. He's gone, and not good enough to even bother disliking. Next....
  7. I'm waiting to see the baby.... Maybe this year.
  8. I don't care how much he weighs, I don't think he's a quality LB. So he can rush around the edge, and maybe get a sack or 2 now that he's on the field 6-12 plays a game. I'll take a guy who can read offenses, cover tight ends, stuff the run, and not get blown up by Chicago RBs in the preseason. He's the Jets problem now and that's perfectly fine with me.
  9. Nothing on this site could be further from the truth. I live in Nashville, and he stunk, plain and simple. His numbers will show you he is simply a terrible QB, never prepared for games, or even bothered to master the offense. He was exposed here in the local media as a guy that never bothered to know any offense put in front of him, and that's exclusively his fault. He made very bad decisions in every game he played, had no pocket presence, awful passer stats, and generally ran himself out of town. His winning record is also everyone else's winning record for those games, and made plays by running, which would be good if it every meant anything. What he did in Philly was exactly the same crap he did here in Tennessee, he just kept his mouth shut, and has learned to say things more politically correct, which a player will do when they realize they are running out of chances. Just my opinion here, but I don't see him starting for any team in the NFL ever again, unless Chan Gailey magically gets him to understand an offense, learns how to be an accurate passer, and manage a game. Nothing personal House, I just disagree with that assessment...
  10. I'm glad I could do the impossible and make you even dumber....
  11. I truly look forward to this every year
  12. To be fair, those players are #1, 1st round draft picks, TJ was lucky we picked him in the 3rd, his talents and possible upside afforded him a higher draft spot than his achievements in college did. I would just love to see players stop being so greedy when they still have so much to prove. The only reason I think Luck and Griffin are dicks are because they play for another team. I'm not worried about this pick, it has all the makings of Aaron Maybin 2.0 I'm more interested to see what develops on our roster that want to be here and earn a spot and his paycheck. If he is smart, he'll look at the likes of Freddie Jackson, Donald Jones, and Stevie Johnson and see that you need to get in here, work your tail off, and then the payday will come. My gut tells me that some of these guys hold out now because of the fear of not making it...
  13. When I lived in Buffalo I used to be very conflicted, I loved the WNY summers, but now that I live in South Central Tennessee, and the temperature has averaged over 100 this summer, I no longer have much to relish.... So true on both sides of the ball, the only real positions that I will see as unproven, are the secondary and quarterback. Now I love Fitzpatrick, but we need to see him finish a season where he produces. We saw flashes of his under-rated talents when he and the team was healthy, so now with some depth, I'd love to see him have a breakout season. I'd even settle for well above average season...
  14. Cut the guy some slack, he needs to make money somehow.... He sure as hell won't be earning money playing football soon enough.
  15. Bell was a developing project for us nothing more, nothing less. Well a lot less actually, the guy was made of glass. At the end of the day he is gone, I for one am happy to have the extra IR spot on our roster, and won't be spending any time missing him. I like and root for who we have, not who we had, peters, Bell, Lynch, Pozluzny....don't have 'em, don't need 'em, couldn't win with 'em.
  16. I can have an opinion about a player not signing yet, watch who you're calling names, so how about you cool it. There's no need to take offense to my view, I was merely commenting on other players who have held out. Maybe take a moment and read what I said, if that's not too hard for you to do. nowhere in my comments did I say that TJ held out of camp... I was using the term in reference to not signing... maybe a bad choice of words on my part, but he is a contract hold out none the less.
  17. I'm already getting soured by this hold out... I honestly could care less if he signs or not. In the history of the league, hold out rookies never benefit from missing their first camp. You're a 3rd rounder that needs to prove your worth, how about taking the high road, get on a team and contribute, prove your worth, THEN ask for deserved dollars. Maybe these rookies who hold out know they need to get as much as they can up front for fear of making it... A-la Aaron Maybin. Even HE knew deep down he sucked.
  18. yeah me too, that was funny... this is the first year since 99-01 that I have gotten the ticket, it just got way too expensive... Now, in regards to training camp, I am really excited to see a couple of players, Easley is one, and the other oddly enough is Shawn merriman. I just feel like these 2 players could really add a ton to this team if they stay healthy and play well.
  19. Days till training camp.... Man am I jacked up for this season!! Side Note - Got a crazy low price for the Sunday ticket...FYI, it's free to new DirecTV subscribers....too bad I have been with them for 13 years, free would have been better. Go BIlls!!!
  20. I share this view, and always have. No doubt he was a talented athlete, but that was years ago.
  21. Im eating LUNCH HERE.... it's hard to read your (well made) point and keep down my lunch with that avatar....
  22. Why play the game then if you don't think you can win? I don't think he said anything a confident player shouldn't have said. Good for him, and good for the team. When Jauron said "It's hard to win in the NFL" everyone around here including me ground him into a powder for that weak minded approach, and now that a player shows the slighted hint of confidence in his team's chances this year, and people around here still aren't happy... Holy Frickin hell how miserable can you be about this team? They're damned if they do, damned if they don't. I think it's time for people to dial the criticism back just a tad... MmmKay? I know it's the internet and all, where everyone can sling criticism without repercussion, but maybe we ease off of the throttle around here just a bit and be excited for the team, this year's offseason has been a God Send, let's enjoy it just a little.
  23. I honestly think most of your coaches points can really be attributed to the injuries. It's hard to get intricate with your offense and defensive aggressiveness when your bench has been emptied, mostly on offense though. Defensively, a lack of depth and any star players in the front 7 lineup was the main problem, along with a terrible scheme that didn't fit anyone.
