I identified with him from as early as high school, his family relationship with his father was one reason, and I really connected with his struggle with the game emotionally. For whatever reason, I became glued to his career, felt every loss, and reveled in every victory. while he was very talented, once he hit the pros, nothing came easy for the guy, very much like our home town. I played tennis and had a very similar style of play, so once I learned that I emulated his game even more.

I actually think they are very helpful, especially since we have been turning over coaches like flap-jacks at IHOP the last decade or so...

anyone who knows me personally knows that I don't have many sports heroes I really care about. In fact, I have only 2 that have in some way touched my life, and it's been Jim Kelly and Andre Agassi for 2 different reasons. so needless to say I was excited to read the news posted by Erin about her Dad. If there are some "Can't Miss" guys left on the board, then I'm OK with it. If there are some potential 3-5 ranked QBs on the board, then I say pull the trigger on that need in Rd3, and go for your can't miss OL in Rd2.

^^ This, more than anything is the single most reason to think this team can only be better, even if it's just a win or 2 more. IF EJ starts and plays well, Or Matt Cassel is an upgrade over J.P. orton, I see 11-5 as very possible.

If EJ starts this year... and I'm really not excited about that statement, please compare those numbers for the board with these names. Each of those aforementioned players in your list showed the ability to lead, execute and adapt in those first games. there were not many who didn't think they can develop, and other teams would have killed for at least 2 of them right away, and the other 2 made the league wish they had them. this comparison is total garbage, and proves nothing. Just to show you how meaningless your numbers are, here's JP Losman's for reference, 1st 14 games. ATT: 400.......COMP: 219........YARDS: 2461.........TD: 14....... INT: 13 Ohhhh my God!!!! we need to call him back... and NOW!!!!! based upon your logic of course.

He would have still missed open receivers and had a meaninglessly high completion percentage due to poorly executed dump off passes. The only difference would have been that Chan would not have had the GONADS to bench EJ, and the team more than likely would have gone 6-10. Nobody can make EJ better but EJ. It's not his willingness to learn, or his work ethic, or his character. he's just not a good QB. The same could be said about Cap'n Checkdown, JP Lostman, Ryan Fitztragic, or any other steam pile that has started under center for this team since 2005. Until they draft a real, solid prospect, can't miss type of guy, these stupid debates will always keep popping up. The only QBs in the modern era of Buffalo Bills history that were worth 2 squirts of piss were Jim Kelly and Joe Ferguson. And they both were can't miss types of talent. EJ was very easily a CAN MISS talent, I would be willing to bet my entire 401K on the fact that if the Bills did not draft him in the first round, he had a high probability of not even getting drafted. There is no GM in the NFL on any team sitting at his desk kicking himself for not drafting the guy.

Offensive scheme and more weapons won't make EJ more accurate. He couldn't hit wide open receivers, and nearly got Woods killed a couple of time early last year. His improvement will need to come from within, and I have serious doubts. I will continue to sleep on him till proven otherwise. I'm just not seeing it, other than his work ethic, and from what we see in the media, an extremely high character, and very likable guy.

It's not the O-LIne that will be the problem, it's the lack of talent at the QB position.

You have to take a flyer on him, there's no way he's not more talented than EJ, Tuel, or anyone else in our locker room right now.

I see Shaub as an upgrade over the entire roster at this point... I'd say bring him in to at least provide veteran leadership.

Matt Cassel is a band-aid on a gaping wound. This team's #1 need is a franchise QB. EJ Manuel has shown that he is exactly the player he was at Florida State.

More than likely it will be Matt Cassel, he's the only pocket passer on the team with any semblance of accuracy.

His numbers in new England will be much better than in SF due to the guy tossing him the ball happens to be a future hall of fame QB, so let's keep that in perspective. That's IF he makes the team at all. Stevie probably wouldn't even make the team in Buffalo right now, so I don't see why anyone here would care where he plays.

Please stop. You can't make chicken soup with chicken $hiTT. There isn't a team, GM, or Owner who would bank their team's fortunes on a QB that falls 20 slots below a crap list of QBs like that. If he were the starting QB for, say Miami, you'd be pretty happy.

What EJ lacks isn't in coaching, it's actual ability. QBs with actual ability can benefit from good coaching, but they don't depend on it. EJ does not possess that quality. sorry, but the truth is the truth.
