  1. TOUCHDOWN!!! At this point, I just need something to wake me up.
  2. Something is missing from this offense. And it's more than EJ, who is aggressively trending down. This team misses Chan Gailey. The playcalling is horrible. As the announcer said, this is man to man, why aren't we exploiting the slant? And why can't Hackett get CJ in space?????
  3. He's getting worse each game. Yikes.
  4. Please kill this thread! It's kinda painful to look at the headline, when two short weeks ago there was actually a decent chance.
  5. They want us to cheer I'm so done with this lame team Sheep: See you next year
  6. Not done ranting. RANT! EPIC RANT! PS the Bills suck.
  7. I don't think there is much argument to keep Hackett, other than not to give Manuel two offenses in two years. We all complained that Chan had keys to a Ferrari in CJ and used him like a Pinto, favoring short timed passes. Hackett's schemes/playcalling/use of Spiller have been worse and we've been unable to run more than a few screens all year. Chan, in retrospect, looks pretty solid. This offense more often than not is unwatchable. This D, on the other hand, barring a few big plays a game -- which is fixable -- has been impressive, stats be damned.
  8. Agree and agree. Good post. And breaks are your friend.
  9. Nonsense. Every time someone makes a play now, we hold our breath to see if it's overturned. No one knows what a catch is anymore. Calls are arbitrary. Special teams are nearly irrelevant with new kickoff rules. The magic is being sucked away by rules, and overofficiating. Change isn't always is what it is. It's bad in this case.
  10. "...But you may feel a little sick."
  11. Agree. Was watching with a Bucs fan, and I could've cared less about this yak balls effort. Or is it I couldn't have cared less? Which ever. I didn't give a rat's ass after watching the first quarter of gutless play. Why the F can't this team generate ONE good season? That crap isn't worth watching. Why we (still) do is a mystery. We Bills fans are like lab rats in some sick experiment. Laughing at something makes it relevant. Try ignoring.
  12. Kim Carnes said it best. EJ has really slow eyes.
  13. Well said. Rules, and control freaks, ruin everything. The game's appeal, and magic, is being damaged by over-officiating and too many rules.
  14. The Bills were fabulous at playing a lazy, sloppy, boring and heartless football game.
  15. I wish people would stop calling Manuel "mobile." He has no presence, looks scary when he runs, and doesn't know how to take a hit.
  16. I hope we sack Glennon 13 times, pick six him, and not fit it up one damn time.
  17. C'mon Dorkington. Everyone knows you get a go get the ball WR and playmaking TE from the go get the ball WR and playmaking TE tree. They're right next to the franchise QB patch.
  18. On another note, some enterprising fan needs to make a song / video like this a la Bills.
  19. I see your point. But getting a No. 1 LB, big Wr AND elite TE will be next to impossible. I say we focus on CB and TE, and cash in our chips if we have to to get em.
  20. I'd blame the Smoking Man before I blame any curse.
  21. They are not winners this year. No debate. But if you want to convince yourself that this team will never be winners, that's your call. We find ways to lose because we don't have the right pieces. We had Fitz as a QB last year for crying out loud. He's one dimensional. This year, a rookie QB, HC and OC. We are trending up. To sum up the post: If Chandler or SJ holds on to the ball, we're all gleefully talking playoffs. Since they didn't it's another wasted year. THAT is razor thin. Under the Gailey regime, we were blown out of the water so many times. That has not been the case this year.
  22. The Falcons game was the most painful of the year for this fan. Yeah, the Chiefs debacle at the end was bad. We SHOULD have beaten them (with a third-string undrafted rookie QB). But the Falcons? We were SUPPOSED to. Further, it ended our playoff hopes. Fourteen !@#$ing years. Which got me thinking. I've seen a lot of posts here decrying how "far" the Bills are from postseason glory. Nonsense. This team is five plays away from being 9-3. We've been throttled by the Saints and Steelers and were thoroughly outplayed by the Jets the first go-around. That's three games we should've lost. Barring those games, we're one glorious play away from winning each one. We COULD have beaten the Patriots, Browns, Bengals, Chiefs and Falcons. You're probably saying "So could any team." But if you look at these losses, we're literally talking about one play each game -- a pick 6, a missed tackle, a stripped ball -- away from winning. We couldn't say that the previous two years. On the negative side, this team is also three plays from being 1-11. Yeah, we could've lost the Panthers or Dolphins games. A great fade route to SJ and a strip sack on Tannehill won those games. Such a razor thin margin. But the good news is, razor thin can swing both ways ... given the right pieces are in play. What's the point? That's serious progress, even though the record doesn't indicate it. Last year, we were blown away so much it was ridiculous. Not a homer, or eternal optimist, talking here. Just looking at the situation rationally. We're literally three pieces away from being on the right side of the blade. If EJ Manuel becomes the quarterback that management thought he was, that's one glaring piece. I'm neither sold or down on the guy yet. But he's trending in the right direction IMO. We're sorely lacking a big, fast, physical tight end. Watching Tony Gonzalez, Gronk and Jimmy Graham violently pluck balls out of the air, run deep routes, and not go down at first contact, and it becomes obvious this team could greatly benefit. The final piece? A shutdown corner. I focused on the Falcons' corners on Sunday, and for the most part they were playing man to man. They were glue. I watched ours. Very loose coverage to say the least. A key part of Pettine's attacking defense relies on shutdown corners. You fill this piece, and our attacking defense is legit on all levels. Everything else is depth in my strong opinion. O line? OK. D line? One of the best in the league. Safeties? Barring Byrd leaving, we appear set. Linebackers? They actually have done pretty well this year. What a fine pick Alonso was! We've witnessed the amazing rise of the Chiefs ... and the deep fall of the Falcons ... in ONE year. The same can easily happen to the Bills. Since there's not much further to drop, I have to believe the opposite will happen. The future is bright my friends. I know you've heard that 13 times before. But I feel this team is damn close.
  23. What, exactly, does that mean? How / why is Ralph pulling the strings in a way other owners wouldn't, and why would Marrone let him do it more than another coach? Honest question.
  24. I needed only 8! Didn't quite work out.
