  1. HELL NO. Don't understand how a guy so physically tough can be such a weakling in life. The fact he didn't have the ability to address this issue head on should be troubling to any fan. Do you really want players walking on eggshells in fear of offending this cat?
  2. Cantors = Honey badger.
  3. No one can drive in gridlock or black ice -- not even a Buffalonian. They had sanders, never used them, released government units and schools at the same time, and were completely unprepared for snow that was forecasted three days ago.
  4. We had 30 new sanders. They were never used beforehand. Tsplost has nothing to do with this. Poor planning, and everyone leaving at once Walking Dead style -- releasing kids at the same time, really? -- was the problem. THIS -- basic infrastructure and emergency preparedness -- should be the core function of government. It failed in every way it could yesterday.
  5. From my Facebook feed: People sleeping in Krogers and CVSs, cars, strangers' houses, kids still stranded in busses. 14-plus hour commutes. Pile-ups... Atlanta is a disaster zone this morning. All from 2 inches of freaking snow. Government failed miserably at what should be its core function. NOOOO!
  6. It's past midnight and Atlanta is STILL gridlocked. Holy Hell. I'd be drunk in a parking deck too. Well, midnight and drunk are obvious. The parking deck would be the only different thing.

  8. Cool, thanks. No taxes and fewer laws is what America is (and should be) about -- regardless of politics. We're awash with increasing regulation on our personal lives here in the 48. New Jersey is trying to make it illegal to not have dogs seatbelted while in transit. Dogs! Uhm... Neil Young, Damage Done: Holy crap! Jewell doing Damage Done! Mind blown. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM7r5NLQ8Qc
  9. Jim doesn't even have Neil Young; that's Canada. All he has is Jewell.
  10. OK I'm intrigued, and have questions, and I'm snowed in. 1. You moved to Alaska to be a mechanic. I know there wasn't a shortage of mechanics, so what drew you? 2. Is there really a shortage of women there? 3. Cool city to visit? Been wanting to take a trip to the Pacific Northwest / BC / Alaska for some time now. 4. First thing that comes to mind about Anchorage. Yep, we do have ourselves a couple of hospitals down here in Atlanta. LOL.
  11. Two weeks ago, when it was 8 all day long -- 8! -- they made it a point to say Atlanta was 20 degrees colder than Anchorage. What do you do in Anchorage? Don't hear about too many people moving there. Atlanta Journal Constitution headlines: State of emergency declared. Baby born on I-285 Students stranded in schools. Fire interrupts MARTA service. Gridlock overwhelms cell towers. Snow zombies invade; eat the flesh of the living. OK, one is made up...but all this over two freaking inches.
  12. I'm in shock how quickly the situation here has downspiraled. No end in sight either. I can't imagine having a baby in this. I was upset because I hadn't eaten lunch and was having lowish blood sugar. Yikes.
  13. I don't think they'll be any brime or sand laid down except on freeways. 20 degrees here so surface streets will be an ice rink. On another note, never heard of Off the Wall before. Post was banished here...
  14. Hey kids, thought you might appreciate this. In Atlanta, we have an inch or so of snow, 2 to 3 in the burbs. The entire city has been gridlocked since 1. Like 3 hours to go 1 mile gridlocked. I've never seen anything like it. People are leaving their cars on the side of the road to walk home, or to the nearest bar. Some school systems have cancelled busses, leaving the kids at school -- maybe for the night! On my drive home, I saw two cars that went over embankments -- we couldn't drive more than 5 miles per hour! -- and three people run out of gas. Not that they're bad drivers; it's just everybody leaving at once in a mid-sized city, and the city not having snow removal equipment, and the fact that the asphalt they use here lends to black ice easier. In contrast, in Utica once, I remember the snow drifts were higher than our front door. It'll be funny to see how the NFL and fans react if it snows in Jersey next Sunday.
  15. Nooooooooo! I don't think guy is another Wanny, though -- fit it up! -- but it's likely he won't get crazy with the blitz schemes as much as Pettine.
  16. People like him want to see racism behind any corner and an America like Mississippi Burning. Plus, the guy is a pretentious, nasty douche.
  17. Steps to going to the Superbowl: Step 1: Draft good. Step 2: ? Step 3: Win the conference championship. At least we know 1 and 3.
  18. Wanny was a one-trick pony. Wedded to the ridiculous notion that you rush four and live and die by your front four. Ridiculously predictable. OCs and QBs nowadays are too smart for that crap. I do hope Scwartz is like Pettine in that regard.
  19. Hybrid or not, the primarily 4-3 was a disaster for us. Then again, so was the 3-4 a year prior. I think what made this D successful this season, sans giving up the big runs, was aggressiveness and creativity. That, and a whole lot of sackage. I hope Swartz brings these elements to this unit. Does anyone know what kind of scheme he ran for the successful Titans?
  20. In light of his playlist, behold, Punishment Due.
  21. According to an infographic put out by BB.com, Swartz likes Megadeth, Judas Priest and Motorhead. I'm warming to this guy already.
  22. Superbowl. Or doooooomed. Nothing intelligent to say here. Detroit D seemed aggressive, but not cohesive to a casual observer like me. But maybe the same can be said about the Bills this season. Why can't these guys stick around for more than a year? Good grief.
  23. How many years was he with the Hawks? This is a young team that's been through too many defensive transitions. Pettine worked. And well. The only downside, and it's correctable, was giving up too many big runs. This D was one piece away from being elite. I've got to think any new DC will at best lead a stagnant D, but I've got to think it takes a step back. Wish they had hired Hacket. That guy needs a few more seasons before he can hang with Billichick.
