  1. Wow, I thought Tuel looked far, far better. Wait and see, though. Anything can happen.
  2. Need to re-read what I wrote. I said a trade for Nassib would be disappointing. And seriously, if you think it's wise management to not get a veteran backup after Kolb went down, I don't know what to say.
  3. It makes sense geographically and culturally.
  4. Disintegration before our eyes. Staggering to think we didn't have a veteran backup quarterback option. The lone bright spot here was getting Byrd/Gilmore back. If we trade him, I'd be happy with a legit lineman and a second round pick. Anything less--especially for a Nassib like player--would be a huge disappointment.
  5. When the capital letters come out, you know the vitriol is oozing. Did Tebow not sign your Sunday School Noah's Ark coloring book or something?
  6. It's unfortunate that his name is so toxic. It's mindless, IMO, but I guess reason enough to stay away from him.
  7. Tebow brings out the crazy. Good grief. Which, I guess, is reason to stay away from him, and that is unfortunate. He's a terrible thrower. We get it. But he's a tremendous athlete who has a knack for winning. To beat a dead horse, the kid took the freaking Broncos to the freaking playoffs and beat the freaking Steelers. He's freaking good enough for a couple of freaking games already.
  8. I'd say the same to you sir. The amount of overly negative, and positive, attention the kid gets is embarrassing. Tebow is a serviceable backup. He's won games. He can run an offense better than Tuel can. He's not our savior, but a decent emergency quarterback. End of story.
  9. The squad needs to sign Tebow ASAP. Freeman won't come here, because he knows he'd be a backup.
  10. If you think that prediction is absurd, check out SportsExchange, which predicts a score that is literally impossible. WHO WILL WIN AND WHY The focus in Cleveland has been on Brian Hoyer engineering two victories since Brandon Weeden was injured and Trent Richardson was shipped to Indy. But it has been the strength of the defense that is making the Browns competitive again, and Cleveland should be able to stuff Buffalo's ground game and make life difficult for rookie QB EJ Manuel in a one-sided offense. *Our pick: Browns 23-1
  11. Memories: 2009. Dickie J. Trent Edwards. Derek Anderson completes two passes. Two! And they win, 6-3, in what is widely regarded as the worst game ever in modern history.
  12. It just draws further scrutiny when a quarterback is staring one week and not even allowed on the field the next. Bizarre, and bad PR. Don't know the facts, and haven't watched any Bucs games, but the team appears to have too much talent to be in the situation it's in. That's on the coach.
  13. If he doesn't suit up for the Browns game, I say trade him ... for a sack full of knee braces for the offensive line. What a disappointment this guy is.
  14. Pessimist: We even suck at victory formations! Optimist: We actually had a chance to do a victory formation against the Superbowl champs. Bottom line, we didn't blow a close lead, and won from behind two weeks ago. It's a new team.
  15. Agreed. Solid teams win close games, even when they play bad. New England played bad against us, and won a close one. We played bad against Carolina, and won. We just beat the Superbowl champs, despite a putrid offensive showing in the second half. Gailey's squad was rarely able -- with exception of the Raiders and Pats two years ago -- to win close games. What we're seeing here is most likely the beginning of a new era of football excellence. My only worry right now is not EJ (he will improve) but our offensive coordinator whose playcalling could be figured out after the bye.
  16. One rookie backing up another is not ideal. Fitz' ceiling is what it is, which is why he's a good backup. One could argue we haven't seen Tuel's basement.
  17. Fitz is a solid backup. We could use him right now.
  18. Meanwhile, Byrd will not play until he's "100 percent."
  19. Not going to nitpick a great win against a solid team. I would just say the offense finally put together three quarters of exciting football (3rd quarter was the same old repetitive crap). Overall, the playcalling on O was a bit repetitive, but the 3rd quarter was unwatchable. The defense, overall, both at run stopping, pressuring and, amazingly, at the secondary, were above average and a joy to watch. When Pettine gets Byrd "I only play when I'm 100 percent", McK and Gilmore back, this D could actually be dominant. When Hackett (hopefully) opens up the book, and when Manuel becomes able to hit the deep ball (he will), this offense could actually be a little above average. A. Williams was a beast today. It's like they put something in his Wheaties. Alonso keeps on getting better. Kudos to Leonard and Searcy and the entire D line too. Finally, I'd like someone to answer why we aren't using Easley at WR. From what I've seen, he's better than TJ, despite the couple of badass plays he made today.
  20. This offense so far is reverting back to the crap of the first three games. C'mon guys, don't blow a great first half.
