10/6/2024 - Bills at Texans post game thread.
Just in Atlanta replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why we lost: Hollins and those alligator arms. Two huge misses by him. He shouldn’t even be suited up let alone starting. Douglass with two huge no-effort plays on the TDs. Awful. McD not challenging that Kincaid reception. Brady not eating up clock on the last drive. This game was so winnable. I need a Bills detox. -

At least Bass didn't miss another field goal. -
A Few Thoughts about the Jaguars Game, in no particular order

Another mind blowing stat of this game: Trevor Lawrence became the first quarterback to throw an interception to someone who has died. -
During the pre-game interviews, my wife asked me if something was wrong with Tua. He was incoherent before the game fwiw. He also looked unusually off that night with his game, not to take anything away from our D. Perhaps there was something wrong with him before that "hit". I say that because it wasn't even a hit. Either way, the bigger picture for me is how bad the Tua situation is for football - whether he quits (which he should) or stays. If we don't do more to protect players' brains, parents will continue to stop allowing their kids to even play football which obviously will be the death knell for the sport we all love. On another note, from what I have read, CTE is believed to be caused more by nonconcussive hits - i.e. the small everyday jarrings that every athlete, from football players to horseback riders experience - than concussive ones. The Army, for instance, is facing a wave of CTE from infantry who fire large artillery due to the blowback of these guns, which are more powerful than ever. In other words, concussions are bad but it's the small hits over time that cause more damage.

Tyreek Hill acted like an overpaid, race-baiting, victim-mongering jerk. However, it's not illegal being an overpaid, victim-mongering, race-baiting jerk. I'm pretty sure it's not illegal to not roll down your window for a cop. It's logical to assume Hill didn't want to create a scene, which could've been dangerous. The officer did not need to escalate this. On another note, it would've been a funny wrinkle if said cop was Bills Mafia. Alas ... https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/miami-dade-police-tyreek-hill/ -

Tyreek Hill refers to himself in the first 3rd person. -

Hopefully Bills Bonds yield profit quicker than Keon Coleman runs.

I'm not worried about the offense, even though Morse is a huge loss. We're going to score a lot of points. Kincaid and Shakir will explode. Coleman looks legit. Our RB situation improved. And Allen should hit his pinnacle this year. But ... D. Poyer, Hyde, White and now Milano (again) and question marks around Von Miller. Too many losses on defense to not take a hit, at least in the first half of the season.

Dr. Google says: "It takes about 3 to 4 months for your biceps muscle to heal. You may be able to do easier daily activities in 2 to 3 weeks, as long as you don't use your injured arm. Most people who work at a desk job can return to work in 1 to 2 weeks." Put that boy to work: He can join the accounting staff next week, practice in September, and play in December.

I don't know about a lack of imagination, as one poster said, but Dorsey's schemes were too reactionary, at least for this team. If x then y and z. Too much mental processing and too much to go wrong. Either way, the offense took a huge step back under the last half of his reign. I prefer Joe Brady and how his schemes dictate, not react. I also look forward to the "no positions" philosophy that could capitalize on more competitive weaknesses. Time will tell, though.

The Army wants some money back from the UFL
Just in Atlanta replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
If you're tying immediate ROI to an ad campaign, you're often going to be disappointed. Further, the UFL does not seem to be.the best ad channel for late teens and early 20-somethings. Their ad agency ought to be fired for this. Also not sure how they tied the 38 enlistees to the campaign. Did they not re-enlist because of the UFL? I had no idea Russ Brandon was CEO of this league. LOL at The Rock. C'mon, man, write 3 more posts. He's probably too busy making bad video game movies. -
