  1. i think the fact that he was cut after 2 reg season games hides how bad he really was. he should be on everybodies top(bottom?) 5 for the season. Please explain how these top 3 are a sign of poor talent?! 1. Kyle Willaims- Probowl 2. Andy Levitre- He was regarded as a good draft pick 2 yeara ago by the league. He played well last year, and the general concensus on him is that he continues to improve year after year, and is turning into a very solid NFL OL. 3. Stevie Johnson- Didnt he come close to some franchise records last year, and a top 15 reciever stats. I will agree with the lack of talent on this teams roster, but I think identifying these 3 is a bit of a reach, and almost bitching about the franchise because it is what we have always done.
  2. I recently moved to OKC about a year ago, and they have a penny tax added to every purchase. That penny at one point went to helping revamp the Ford Center to lure the then Sonics to come here. That penny tax also goes to rehab the city, creating parks and activities, as well as helping fund the new Olympic Rowing Training Center. The idea is good, and OKC is getting better(def not there). GO THUNDER!!
  3. depending on how far into the 1st they want, i would assume this could be done for our 2nd and our extra 4th. Not quite sure though. if thats the case then no huge loss there. You dont really lose a pick. if this is the case then go for it. if its anything more then see ya.
  4. how is this a smokescreen? so a team wants to move up, they think of possible trade partners and gm's say, "oh the bills would love to pick 2 picks higher, maybe they want to move 4 picks down?"
  5. top of the 2nd seems a bit early, but agreed, i like the kid. if he could be had later in the draft that would be even better
  6. EXTRA EXTRA READ ALL ABOUT IT MAJOR FOOTBALL PROGRAMS PAY THEIR ATHLETES. this is going on EVERYWHERE football, basketball, and probably sport we dont care about as well. I am not upset at Auburn or the players. It is upsetting that this is what college athletics have become. What is the NCAA doing that they seem to barely catch anybody doing this
  7. the scouting department should keep an eye on dez bryant. any day now he will be lining up wide with this team this would be an awesome team by the way,it would slam the bills. i also move to remove athletes with dui and pot charges only charges. ie ricky williams, whatever he likes his bud. or bruce smith never killed anybody with his car while drinking, but stallworth did. just saying u could put ALOT of players with that stuff. i would consider rothlistberger eligible.(not trying to start an arguement) peters inelligible due no crime there, oooo loud music. just some thoughts flame away
  8. i had a proffessor who used to work at auburn. they have a class calles nfl101 (i think) where they learn how to interview, find an agent etc
  9. so i am confused, you u didnt talk about gabbert, but now you did...so hes your guy now??? i think he has made it abundantly clear that he is
  10. i never understood this. to me there are 2 things wrong with this theory 1. so this smoke screen, we are telling everybody we want a qb at 3. so other teams who want the same qbs we do will want to trade with US to get that qb. wouldnt it make sense for that team to trade with pick 2 so they could nab them before us. i guess they could offer us a package we could not refuse, but that doesnt seem likely for the talent they are trading for. its not like they are throwing everything at peyton, and if teams where trying for it, any front office would turn any and all offers down for the opportunity to draft him 2. what is the history with the smoke screen and buddy and co. i seem to remember last year alot, alot, alot of people saying watch for spiller. nix and co had alot to say about him(and others as well). i know we made a big deal about tebow, but rumor has it we where beat out by denver. so again the smokescreen makes zero sense and i dont seem to recall last year there being this super thought out conspiracy theory.
  11. yeah because high profile athletes abide by the same rules and procedures as the rest of middle america.
  12. so is this where the ufl really shines?
  13. no i doubt the bills would remain with the 3rd pick, although it would be nice. so hypothetically, the lock out lasts untill week 11. That only leaves 6 games on the schedule, division only, bills go 1-5, pick 1st. boom. i know rooting for losses is never good, and i have always been adimitly against it, even at our worst moments, for a draft pick. but any result in that year would be with an astrisk, so eff it, if there is ever a time to play for picks, it is a year that doesnt even count. just a thought?
  14. i understand the juco is common for college athletes, but you dont draft somebody in the 1st round of the nfl draft, and use juco as evidence. this is neither pro nor anti newton, just something that drives me crazy with the talk about him.
  15. agreed. i also dont understand the need to play now argument. are we this great team, that with the addition of somekey draft pick suddenly be excellent. i am not saying this is the case, but say you have the opportunity to draft your franchise qb for the next 10 years, but he has to sit on the bench for a few seasons. you are telling me you pass because he isnt playing immediately on a bad team
  16. they will be figuring out if newton is coachable and can learn the nfl game. if they think he can, he will be the pick. i am not sure i would agree with it, but if it happends i HOPE he sits on the bench for 2-3 years and learns. too many good prospects are not groomed properly and fail. because of his upside would rather have cam then von miller. as somebody said before, I hope they either go DL or id a franchise qb. anything else will be a waste
  17. i have no idea, but wasnt trent edwards the last qb at stanford, where he had something like 8 wins during his 3 years as the starter. stanford was awful for a while. mizzou was the better choice at the time. it was not until harbough that that program turned
  18. part of the problem is in college since it is common for alot of players to have been HS QBs because they are their teams best athletes
  19. You are missing the point. You have to go back further. By looking at only NFL results you are lacking where those results. The NFL results are a results of all the steps to get there. I think the problem becomes, why arent more black people playing QB in general. IE why are white kids targeted in HS so play QB rather than black kids. It is not like kids go through a stringent selection process to play a possision, they are merely benifactors in opportunity given to them. Also the next step after that is, I know Highschool football is all about putting your biggest playmaker in the largest role possible, just like Naaman at St. Joes. The question now becomes, well out of the black HS QB's, how many of them are not allowed to play QB. Why was Naaman not considered to play QB anywhere in the country and was strictly a DB prospect, and how often does that happen. I could ramble on about all the specific examples and steps, but the point being that thoughts similar to yours are either consciencly or sub consciecly making these decisions. Without more opportunity to succeed, there is only data influenced by generations of racism to debate from. So currently, no is it racist to say that currently only white QBs seem to find elite success in the NFL, those are the facts, it would be racist to venture further to say that only QB's have the tools to ever be successful. I would say that the reason you don't see so many successful black QB's in the NFL is racism
  20. good idea, a thread all about newton. i am so glad somebody created a thread that is all newton all the time
  21. seems like an easier schedule than normal. is that quinns doing. pitt is never bad, and tenessee has quite the history, but there where years i remember us playing a highly ranked mizzo team, a high ranked rutgers, penn state, and notre dame. is this in an effort to win more game while taking the hit(both financially and visiblity) of not playing high profile teams
  22. Watch the Bills grab him now. HAHA also i thought that when i saw him in an interview. he came across a bit as a user, not like marshawn/ricky pot stuff, but like he may like cocaine or heroin. totally unjustified, but thats the way i thought he carried himself.
  23. so what youre saying is a lockout would be best
