  1. It's the stain of the NFL that's been going on since the beginning. I'm glad fans are beginning to wake up, but this stuff gets worse the more important the games become. I agree that this game wasn't 100% decided by refs, but just like Vegas, if you give the house the advantage, they're going to win most games. Magnus Carlson isn't the best chess player in the world because he checkmates everyone in 10 moves, it's because he constantly gains small advantages over the course of the game. A few timely penalties is all that is needed to give a solid team like the Pats an advantage, along with whatever other shady stuff they do. Some obvious (Edelman's pick), some not (spying on play calls, messing with the road team's headsets or tablets, showing the field goal posts on the Jumbotron during a field goal, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.) It's not just rigged, but it's rigged smart. Plausible deniability. That's your concept of the day folks. Google it.
  2. It sounds good in theory, but Jones had this intangible negative effect on the passing game. Somehow, someway, he just seemed to repel the ball. Something would always happen when the ball came his way that would lead to an incompletion. Sometimes his fault, sometimes not, but he was just one of those unlucky people. From some rumors I heard, he was the same way off the field (beyond the famous hotel incident). Getting involved in situations no NFL player should be getting involved in. He was good riddance. We need players that bring fortunate events, not unfortunate events.
  3. I agree that some fans get worked up. But fans also don't really have a choice. It's Schopp or the crap on Kiss 98.5. There are plenty of people that like him or don't mind him. Those are the people I don't get.
  4. Coming back early from a torn ACL to almost lead the Eagles to a Super Bowl win. That's immortal in my book. Anything but a loser. Far worse people in the HOF IMO.
  5. I thought about deleting my post because it was so harsh, but then I figured it was karma. Irvin goes on the radio and says beautiful, beautiful and truthful things about our team. Better than anything Schopp has said in years of being on the radio. And then "fans" jump in with pretty much "nothing Irvin says the rest of his life matters, because he used to be a c*kehead". Like....what? What is this bizarro world I'm in? So I figure they deserve some negativity their way.
  6. I agree with you. I think the concept is above his head. I've been reading him in some other threads. Low-information poster. It's condescending, but it's the truth.
  7. Man, the thing that gets me about Schopp is his tone of voice. Such jadedness and condescension. People used to blame the sports teams for Schopp's attitude, but now that the Bills are winning he still has it. I mean you're talking to a great, championship-winning WR. Issues or not, this man has experience and wisdom that few people have. You can be sophomoric about it and claim that only idiots can learn from Irvin, but I'd argue the idiots are those that have that opinion. I swear some of the people here would've told Bobby Fischer to shut up about his chess opinions because he went kooky later in life. What's Schopp really about? Because he's not about winning, at least not to me. Is it because they're not winning the way he wants them to win? Would he be happier if they did things the way he prefers and finished 8-8? I'm seriously asking. Maybe I'm wrong, but he seems to be about proving that he's smarter than everybody. Was this a defense mechanism many fans took on to deal with the drought? Follow the advanced stats unicorn. So why do so many Bills fans like him? Are they attracted to the negativity? Do they vibe with his smarter-than-thou attitude? Is that a sign of the times? I just hope that as the fan's wounds heal from so much losing, they'll start being repelled by the Schopp's of the world. Because I'll be honest, I think his sports opinions are vanilla hipster.
  8. To answer this question, you need to think like a cheat. In what ways can you gain an edge on special teams, within the rules or not? For example, "how can I reduce my fumbles"? By deflating the ball slightly so that my RB's grip is stronger, yet it is not noticeable by refs or the other team. "How can I know what defense the other team is going to play"? By looking at their sideline gestures and play calls. "I'm missing too much information by watching them in person, how can I dive deeper into their play calls"? By videotaping them, then rewatching over and over again to spot new details. This is just the tip of the iceberg, obviously. But you are now entering the Twilight Zone of what the Patriots Dynasty REALLY is.
  9. Saturday is the last time that Brady will ever be in the same tier as our QB.
  10. You want the narrative on Josh to change? It won't be from winning games. It'll only happen when someone like Bill Cowher goes on TV during prime time and says he thinks Josh Allen is the Truth and he is officially accurate now. Only then, will people change their minds. In fact, Allen haters will become Allen fans over night. The advanced stats will suddenly show how accurate Allen is! Such is the way the world REALLY works.
  11. Imagine the confidence going into the Playoffs on a 3 game win streak. You would rather go into the playoffs with another NE loss with a potential Pats matchup looming in the semi-final? What would that do the team's psyche?
  12. Deleted Frontline documentary from 1983. Savitch the reporter was found dead in a ditch months later. Documentary not aired until leaked many years later. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Savitch Besides, MR WEO, this post isn't for you. It's for the open-minded ones who can't figure out what's going on and how these cheaters keep skating by and all the other owners stand by quiet. The answer has been out in the open for 35 years. If you want to hear it. You think it's all cleaned up now?
  13. Vegas. Referees. Fixes. Things get ugly if you want to know the truth. Watch the Frontline documentary.
  14. Imagine the competitive advantage in filming the sideline/substitutions versus using your eyes. Rewind, play forward, rewind, play forward...."Oh wait, I didn't notice that before"...rewind, play forward.....
  15. This runs WAYYYY deeper than most can comprehend. Why aren't the owners going public right now? Because of "the shield"? These owners combined are worth way more than "the shield". Because the truth is that there is more going on than just the Patriots cheating.
  16. Why are the same 3 or 4 Bills fan so vehemently playing devil's advocate for the Patriots? It's pretty obvious what's going on. I hope your intentions are pure, there's one guy earlier in this thread I'd bet money is a secret Pats fan. By the way, notice the clamp down on information since the NFL stepped in. No reports, no sources talking, nothing. Shadiness all around.
  17. To keep this thought experiment going, even though they didn't need to forfeit, think of how it affected Chiefs in terms of game day preparation. The stress, the lack of warming up, the disruption of game day habits. The game might not have been so close. Makes you raise your eyebrows.
  18. Thank you. This just happens every time they're caught. First, there's ridicule on the accusers. Then people question the competitive advantage. And then people wonder what's so bad about it. It happened during every scandal. It's classic gaslighting. Like we're the crazy ones. And even worse, we're the dumb ones who should be smart and cheating like them! Even if it all ends here and nothing more ever comes out, these are the people we're supposed to look back on and worship as the GOATs? Just checked. No mention of the Patriots anywhere near the front page of ESPN. The top Patriots thread on NFL Reddit is about Belichick commenting on social media. The clean up job has begun.
  19. The point is where it fits into the greater scheme of things. Nothing is off limits to these people. Nothing is beneath them. Every possible shady advantage they take. They're called "scumbags" where I'm from. And I keep waiting for more and more to come out.
  20. Consider this before dismissing: Are any other teams around the league known for doing this type of thing or going to these lengths? What does it say about the organization that they are given the OK to go through the dirty laundry and garbage (!) in order to look for scraps? What kind of reputation do they have around the league for these types of actions? Think of the paranoia you need to have in order to NOT have something stolen from you. Take shredders with you on the road?! Why are Bills fans defending these people? This is just the tip of the iceberg coming to light. Ever been to a spy store? Do people really believe this ends here?
  21. Haha front offices. I assume everyone understands my abbreviations when I've been drinking.
  22. Love it. It really feels like it this time. You know what would put the final nail in the coffin? One more scandal to come out right now.
